  • Patent number: 6058526
Abstract: The drain assembly is constructed with a segmented ball valve of stainless steel or plastic which is rotatable between an open position and a closed position by a shaft extending from the drain body. An annular valve seat is biased against the valve body by a compression device and an annual retainer which is threaded into the valve body from above. A strainer may also be provided to catch large particles which might otherwise not be desirable for passage through the drain assembly. The valve body provides a relatively large opening for the discharge of fluids into a drain pipe.

  • Patent number: 6059221
Abstract: The apparatus for receiving and forwarding a reserve lap roll employs a trough to receive the lap roll and pivotally mounted arms for pivoting the trough from the reserve position toward the working position. The arms may be pivoted by a piston and cylinder unit. Alternatively, a parallelogram arrangement of guide rods may be used for moving the trough from the reserve position toward the working position. In still another embodiment, pairs of pivotally mounted arms can be used to move the reserve lap roll from the reserve position directly into the working position. In each embodiment, the pivotal elements are spaced apart a distance greater than the length of an empty tube in the working position so that the empty tube can be ejected through the space between the arms to a position below the reserve position.

  • Patent number: 6057656
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel composite magnet assembly for an insertion device of the Halbach type or hybrid type to be inserted into the linear part of, for example, an electron accelerator to generate a sine-curved periodical magnetic field in the air gap between two oppositely facing composite magnet block arrays. Different from a conventional magnet block assembly consisting of a plurality of permanent magnet blocks or alternate assembly of permanent magnet blocks and soft-magnetic pole pieces, the inventive magnet block assembly is composed of a plurality of oppositely facing composite magnet blocks each formed with a single base magnet block provided with a plurality of slits into which insert magnet pieces or insert pole pieces are inserted so that the dimensional accuracy in the length-wise direction of the magnet block assembly can be greatly decreased to improve the regularity of the periodical magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 6058407
Abstract: The FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filter with non-symmetric frequency response characteristics; data stored in the shift register is selected by the select signal to be outputted from the multiplier. The tab coefficient stored in the tab coefficient generator is outputted through the multiplier according to 2 bit select signal to be multiplied. The multiplied to be output signal is stored in D flip-flop at the rising edge of a second clock 2. The data stored in a D flip-flop is selected by the select signal to be added in the adder. The adding result is that just one fourth of the tab number is added. Therefore, this one fourth of the adding result is to be stored in D flip-flop first in order to add the rest of three fourths in the same process. 90.degree.-transited quota Qout) can be produced storing all tabs added in this way of four steps in respective D flip-flops and adding all tabs in the adder finally.

  • Patent number: 6058129
Abstract: A laser comprises an active element and two resonators wherein each resonator further comprises a highly reflective resonator element and an output coupling element which reflects the radiation of the active element in itself. The active element amplifies incident radiation from a solid angle range by a normal of the active element which is distinctly greater than zero. The resonators are arranged relative to the active element such that each resonator reflects the radiation on the active element at a different angle of incidence within the solid angle range.

  • Patent number: 6055694
Abstract: A wafer scrubbing machine is provided with a network of wafer holders which can be moved from a retracted position adjacent each other at a wafer receiving station to an expanded position spaced apart from each within a scrubbing station. The wafers are picked up simultaneously by pairs of depending arms in the scrubbing station and passed between pairs of rotating brushes for cleaning purposes. A common drive wheel is provided to rotate the wafers simultaneously during scrubbing between the brushes. A second network of wafer holders is provided to receive the scrubbed wafers in the scrubbing station and to move into a retracted position within a delivery station for transfer of the cleaned wafers into a cassette for subsequent processing. Two sets of networks may be provided on a common rotatable assembly in order to accommodate two different sizes of delivered wafers.
