  • Patent number: 7975418
Abstract: A polymeric revolver including a frame, a cylinder mounted in a rectangular aperture in the frame, a cylinder retaining mechanism and a cylinder releasing mechanism is provided. The cylinder retaining mechanism includes two assemblies: (1) an extractor, locking bolt and locking bolt retainer that house an extractor rod spring, and (2) a ratchet hub driver, hub drive center pin and central pin plate that house a ratchet drive spring. The two assemblies are biased toward one another forming a locking engagement of the extractor and the ratchet hub driver. The locking engagement is enhanced by a star-shaped configuration of grooves and ridges on the extractor and ratchet hub driver, respectively. The cylinder releasing mechanism includes a cylinder release lever that actuates the hub drive center pin and ratchet hub driver out of locking engagement with the extractor, and an ambidextrous thumb piece that facilitates access to the cylinder release lever.

  • Patent number: 7974730
Abstract: Method for the chip-removing machining of the tooth flanks of a gear wheel having n teeth and n tooth gaps on a multiaxis grinding machine. A grinding disc which may be dressed is used for the machining and one of the n tooth gaps after another is machined using this grinding disc in the single indexing method. The grinding disc plunges into each of the n tooth gaps up to a predefined plunging depth (T1). If it is a freshly dressed grinding disc, the grinding disc is plunged using a predefined first restraint in relation to the normal predefined plunging depth into m of the n tooth gaps at the beginning of the machining of the gear wheel, to pre-machine these m tooth gaps (for this purpose: m=1, 2, or 3 and m<n). The remaining n?m tooth gaps are subsequently machined using the predefined plunging depth (T1).

  • Patent number: 7970425
Abstract: A push-to-talk (“PTT”) group call system, for use as, e.g., a public safety wireless network, includes a CDMA-based 1x-EVDO radio access network operably connected to a PTT server over an IP network. The radio access network includes base stations for radio communications with a number of distributed mobile stations. In carrying out wireless communications, the group call system combines IP-based voice and other real-time multimedia services with the 1x-EVDO radio access network's Broadcast Multicast Service. This allows a number of users to receive the same copy of an IP-based media stream for point-to-multipoint, group transmissions. To reduce call setup times, the group call system uses “standing” call groups, which are ongoing group communication channels pre-established between the PTT server and authorized group users. Thus, mobile stations link to one or more standing call groups of interest upon power-up, prior to users speaking.

  • Patent number: 7963754
Abstract: The invention concerns a hydraulic machine with a set of teeth, having a toothed ring with an inner toothing and a gear wheel with an outer toothing, the gear wheel rotating and orbiting in the toothed ring, the inner toothing and the outer toothing touching each other in contact areas, thus separating pressure chambers, and with a valve arrangement controlling a connection between a connection arrangement having a high pressure connection and a low pressure connection, and the pressure chambers. It is endeavoured to achieve a stable operation, particularly with low speeds. For this purpose, each contact area is provided with an opening, which, at the time when a pressure chamber reaches an extreme value of its volume, produces a short-circuiting with the neighbouring pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 7966548
Abstract: In a system for parity encoding data using a low density parity check (LDPC) code, a rate-compatible, irregular LDPC code is generated by extending a base code using a constrained edge growth operation and a parity splitting operation. The base code is a “daughter” code having an encoding rate higher than a designated rate of the LDPC code. The daughter code is progressively extended to lower and lower rates such that each extension code (including the target LDPC code) is compatible with the previously obtained codes. The extension operation may involve introducing a set of new code symbols to the daughter code, by splitting check nodes of a base graph associated with the daughter code, and through constrained edge growth of the base graph. The LDPC code is used to parity encode a data message as a means for forward error correction across a communication channel.

  • Patent number: 7954445
Abstract: A pressure state indicator indicates whether or not positive pressure fluid or negative pressure fluid is supplied to a fluid path. A fluid guide member 17 is constituted of a joint main body 11 in which a fluid path 12 is formed and a partition member 16 provided outside the joint main body 11, and an accommodation space 19 is formed by the partition member 16 and the joint main body 11. A pressure chamber 22a communicating with the fluid path 12 through a communicating hole 23 is formed in the accommodation space 19 by a sliding sealing member 21 provided in the accommodation space 19. The sliding sleeve 24 is located at a non-supply position by a spring member 25 when no pressure is supplied to the fluid path 12, and the sliding sleeve 24 is moved to a supply position when pressure is supplied thereto. A pressure state in the fluid path 12 is externally confirmed by observing positions of the sliding sealing member 21 and the sliding sleeve 24 from outside.

  • Patent number: 7954363
Abstract: An improved method for detection of engine faults especially suited for use on ships. The method is in particular related to the detection of a fault in an internal combustion engine having within the housing a crankshaft connected to a piston. The method includes determination of a pressure difference between the housing and the area outside the housing. If comparison of the pressure difference with a fault indicating pressure difference limit shows that the pressure difference is greater than the fault indication pressure difference limit then the presence of the fault is indicated. According to the method is in the pressure difference determined by comparing the pressure existing in the housing with the pressure of the area outside the housing, while attenuating pressure changes of the area outside the housing, so that pressure changes having a duration equal to or less than a defined fault characteristic period of time are supposed.
