Abstract: Method and device for tailoring the density of a compressible, non-rebounding foam used in capturing anatomical impressions to account for the variations in body weights and sizes, the foam fabricated by the method or device and the custom surface fabricated using the foam. The device is configurable to create a wide range of densities suitable for a wide range of body types. The resulting imprinted foams are then encased in hard surfaces to obtain a mold that provides support surfaces for the back and buttocks in the construction of custom molded chairs, seat cushions and back orthotics. The reduced density foam is suitable for fabrication of orthotics that fit to large areas of the body.

Abstract: A transport pallet is provided with a chassis including feet on its underside from providing space for lifting using a fork lift truck or the like. The chassis is also provided with receptacles in the chassis for corner posts erectable at the corners of the chassis. The corner posts may also be provided with cross-members for increased stability. When not in use the corner posts and cross-members can be stowed in channels in the chassis, with the channels, posts and cross-members being color coded for ease of identification. The chassis can also be provided with straps for securing of the load.

Abstract: A computer implemented method used to interpret text, including from a set of formal glossaries which may refer one to the other and are intended to define precisely the terminology of a field of endeavor. Such glossaries are known as intelligent, in the sense that they allow machines to make deductions, without the need for human intervention. However, they may also accept human intervention. Once a word is defined in an intelligent glossary, all the logical consequences of the use of that word in a formal and well-formed sentence are computable. The process includes a question and answer mechanism, which applies the definitions contained in the intelligent glossaries to a given formal sentence. The methods may be applied in the development of knowledge management methods and tools that are based on semantics; for example: modeling of essential knowledge in the field based on the relevant semantics.

Abstract: An aircraft seat in a cubicle able to provide privacy via a hidden, sliding/pocket door drawn to a seat-side end of a divider between adjacent seats from within a facing panel of the next divider in the line of seats. The divider provides a recessed backing for the seat; whilst a return recess provides foot rest space opposite the seat. The dividers are generally S-shaped in one form. The seat in one form is a double seat, in that it comprises a convertible seat and a fixed seat immediately next to each other. The fixed seat provides an alternative seating position when the convertible seat is in bed configuration and a seat for a friend when the convertible seat is in seat configuration. In one form not only the convertible seat, but also the fixed seat have seat belts, the latter seat's belts being provided in case of turbulence during use. The convertible seat has a seat squab, a backrest and a leg rest both pivotally connected to the seat squab that are reclinable via a reclining mechanism.

Abstract: A novel orientation for a plurality of transport seats within a vehicle, generally consisting of a first seat facing in a first direction, and a second seat facing an opposing direction such that the lateral width of the combined seats is substantially less than in prior art examples. Specific seats and reclining orientations are also disclosed including seats having a unitary structure. A visual barrier is also disclosed, substantially disposed between the first and the second seat to provide a visual barrier between a user in a first seat and a user in a second seat.

Abstract: System, device and method for using user-generated metadata to arrive at a modified search index that emphasizes a relationship between documents selected by a user during a prior search session and salient terms of those documents. An initial search index is modified by adding a synthetic term and a synthetic document to terms and documents that are used to arrive at the elements of the index and by modifying the relevance scores to highlight one or more of the search terms, the synthetic term, and the synthetic document. Synthetic term ties a cluster of related documents together and synthetic document ties terms of these documents together. Synthetic term is not found in any other documents and synthetic document does not belong to any normal corpus of documents. Modified index aids in re-generating prior user choices because it contains artifacts reflecting associations that user perceived between various terms and documents.

Abstract: A purse illumination assembly including a power source, a light emitting portion, a touch-sensitive switch, and a circuit assembly connecting the light emitting portion to the power source through the touch-sensitive switch. The touch-sensitive switch is located in an indentation to protect against accidental switching on. The light emitting portion includes a light emitting fabric or may include EL wire alone or in combination with LED lights to provide both lighting and a decorative effect. A driver circuit may be included for driving both the EL wire and the LED lights.
