  • Patent number: 8126146
Abstract: A cryptography method using a quantum phenomenon, which performs a multi-staged polarization process between a transmitter and a receiver to prevent a third party from knowing the polarization value of a photon. A transmitter rotates a photon flux by arbitrary angle ? and transmits it to a receiver. The receiver rotates the received photon flux by arbitrary angle ? and transmits it to the transmitter. The transmitter rotates the received photon flux by the reverse angle ?? of an angle, by which the transmitter 10 rotated it, then rotates it by polarization corresponding to an information bit, and transmits it to the receiver which rotates the received photon flux by the reverse angle ?? of an angle, and measures the polarization of the photon flux corresponding to the information bit, and recovers the information bit transmitted by the transmitter. Cryptography information may be transmitted using a plurality of photon fluxes.

  • Patent number: 8112230
Abstract: A method for determining synergistic effect of a medicine combination including two medicines relating to a disease on the basis of a gene network and medicine-effective genes of each and/or any of said two medicines, comprising: determining a synergy factor (ST1,2) of two medicines on the basis of distribution of medicine-effective genes of two medicines; determining a medicine similarity factor (AS1,2) of two medicines on the basis of similarity between a set of symptoms which two medicines relates to; and, determining synergistic effect of two medicines according to a product of the synergy factor and similarity factor. Proposed is constructing a disease-related gene network, mapping medicine-effective genes onto the network, and determining the synergistic effect of medicines on the basis of the genes. The present invention also relates to medicine composition of sinomenine and honokiol and of sinomenine and luteolin, each with anti-angiogenesis effect and having good synergistic effect.

  • Patent number: 8091961
Abstract: Two rows of seats (11, 12, 13) and (21, 22, 23), each having a seat cushion (2), a backrest (3) and a head rest (4) with wings (5). The outer seats (11, 13; 21, 23) face in one direction whilst the middle seats (12; 22) face in the other direction. The result is that the passenger in the middle seat (22) can look directly along lines of sight S at the passengers in the outer seats (11, 13) of the next row and vice versa, which they would prefer not to be able to do. The lines of sight pass the wings (5) of the head rests in front of the passengers concerned. The wings (5) extend from the edges (6) of their head rests (4) and have (screens 101) pivoted to the outside of the wings at their proximal ends (7). The screens comprise an outer frame (102) and a fabric screen material (103) within the frame. It is this material that interrupts the lines of sight S.

  • Patent number: 8089203
Abstract: A lamp comprises a light source in the form of a light emitting resonator 1, a magnetron 2 and a stub tuner 3. A reflector 4 is fitted at the junction of the light source and the stub tuner, for directing the light in a generally collimated beam 5. The light emitting resonator comprises an enclosure 11 formed of inner and outer envelopes 12,13 of quartz. These are circular cylindrical tubes 14,15, with respective end plates 16,17. A tungsten wire mesh 18, of a mesh size to exhibit a ground plane to microwaves within the resonator, is sandwiched between the tubes and the end plates respectively. Each envelope, comprised of its tube and end plates is hermetic. An earth connection 18? extends from the mesh to the outside of the envelope. The length axially of the enclosure between the wire mesh sandwiched between the end plates is ?/2 for the operating microwave frequency. At one end of the enclosure, a molybdenum drive connection 19 extends to a tungsten disc 20.

  • Patent number: 8080962
Abstract: A fire or smoke barrier 1 has a curtain 2 deployed from a motorized roller 3 mounted in a head box 4. Remote from the head box and connected to the motor via a cable 5 is a motor controller circuit 6. A short circuit protection circuit 9 is connected to the motor within the roller at the motor end of the cable 5. On the motor side of the circuit 9 is a retarder circuit 10 connected across the motor terminals. The short circuit circuit comprises a pair of relays 11, 12, arranged with their normally open contacts 111,121 arranged in parallel. A drive voltage one 11 of the relays has its winding 112 across the input lines 14 of the circuit and the emf one 12 of the relays has its winding 122 across the output lines 15 of the circuit. The input lines 14 are connected to the cable lines 51,52 and the output lines 15 are connected to the motor terminals 16, via the retarder 10.

  • Patent number: 7997531
Abstract: An aircraft seat in a cubicle able to provide privacy via a hidden, sliding/pocket door drawn to a seat-side end of a divider between adjacent seats from within a facing panel of the next divider in the line of seats. The divider provides a recessed backing for the seat; whilst a return recess provides foot rest space opposite the seat. The dividers are generally S-shaped in one form. The seat in one form is a double seat, in that it comprises a convertible seat and a fixed seat immediately next to each other. The fixed seat provides an alternative seating position when the convertible seat is in bed configuration and a seat for a friend when the convertible seat is in seat configuration. In one form not only the convertible seat, but also the fixed seat have seat belts, the latter seat's belts being provided in case of turbulence during use. • Patent number: 7945527
Abstract: A computer implemented method and systems used to create and interpret a set of formal glossaries which refer one to the other and are intended to define precisely the terminology of a field of endeavor. Such glossaries are known as intelligent, in the sense that they allow machines to make deductions, with interaction of human actors. Once a word is defined in an intelligent glossary, all the logical consequences of the use of that word in a formal and well-formed sentence are computable. The process includes a question and answer mechanism, which applies the definitions contained in the intelligent glossaries to a given formal sentence. The methods may be applied in the development of knowledge management methods and tools that are based on semantics; for example: modeling of essential knowledge in the field based on the relevant semantics; and computer-aided human-reasoning.
