The particles that form specific binding pairs are recovered and separated by isoelectric focusing followed by the detection of the labels associated with the particles. A flow cytometer may be used as a detector of the isoelectric particles.

The gateway apparatus further includes means for determining whether or not it is possible to accept the input by making reference to the gateway apparatus information when the control command input is received through the outside network and for producing a control command to the appliance based on the appliance panel information when the acceptance is possible. This makes it possible to perform remote control in a similar feeling obtained in operating a front panel of an actual home appliance. Through the outside network, the home appliance can be controlled with easier operations.

Abstract: The present invention aims to effectively restrict access of a general user to an inappropriate information piece at the judgment of an information manager. In order to pick up a desired information from an information storage medium or an information communication network while excluding inappropriate information, an information manager inputs suitability of information (a teacher signal) to an information presented at a user terminal 21 to a group profile learning unit 16 and prepares a group profile reflecting suitability of the information as specified by the information manager using the teacher signal. At a score calculating unit 13, a score signal indicating suitability of information is calculated for each information using the group profile, and access of an information user in a group to inappropriate information is restricted.

Abstract: This specification describes an apparatus for carrying out a method of making a multi-walled pipe in the shape of a tube having a helical configuration. The apparatus is made up of an extruder with multiple dies. These multiple dies include at least two concentric arcuate dies that are radially spaced apart and a plurality of relatively straight dies that radially connect the concentric arcuate dies. The apparatus includes means for cooling the extrudate to solidify it into a usable condition. Means are provided to cause the multi-wall pipe to have a helical configuration, that is, apparatus is provided that arranges the pipe as a whole into a structure that has a circumferential component and a longitudinal component to its orientation; e.g. a helix. The longitudinal orientation is accomplished by providing apparatus that causes the pipe to proceed downstream in the direction of its longitudinal axis. Abstract: A preparative electrophoresis apparatus suitable for recovery of molecules from gels comprises two spaced apart electrode compartments connected by a conduit that descends from the bottom of the electrode compartments in a V-shaped or U-shaped form. The conduit serves as a reservoir for collecting electroeluted molecules. Two electrophoresis buffers are used, a first one of a low concentration and density, and a second one of a high concentration and density. The electrode compartments are filled with the first electrophoresis buffer solution while the conduit is filled with the second electrophoresis buffer solution. Under the influence of an electric field, the molecules exit the gel and concentrate in the high concentration buffer. After a certain time, usually a time that is sufficient for driving substantially all desired molecules out of the gel, the electric field is switched off. The high concentration buffer containing the electroeluted molecules is withdrawn from the conduit.

Each frame of the video program comprises a basic data portion and at least one level of quality supplement data portions. The play control commands includes a play, a stop, a head search, a jump forward and a jump backward command. In response to the issued play command, the terminal obtains and uses the basic data portions for playing the video program. In response to the stop command, the terminal obtains the quality supplement data portions for the last displayed frame and uses them for displaying a quality-enhanced version of the last displayed frame.

As a program information broadcasting system, program elements constituting a broadcasting program are divided into a plurality of items and are turned to data at a center, and a master data 21 of a program information to recognize the program is prepared. From the data constituting the master data, minimal necessary items for preparation of a program table are extracted, and a program basic information 22 is prepared. Said master data and said program basic information are transmitted simultaneously with the broadcasting, and said program basic information is received, reproduced and displayed before receiving of the master data at a receiving terminal unit 31 is completed.
