  • Patent number: 6976948
Abstract: A method for adjusting an interface formed during operation between a specific light liquid phase and a specific heavier liquid phase to a wanted radial level in a centrifugal separator, in which the separation chamber is emptied of its contents and the inlet opening is brought to a radial inner position in the outlet chamber, after which a pre-determined volume of the specific heavier liquid phase is supplied to the separation chamber and the mixture of the two liquid phases is supplied to the separation chamber via the supply conduit and the inlet chamber whereby the separation chamber is filled up and an interface between the two liquid phases is formed, which is displaced radial outwardly, the displaced specific heavier liquid phase then being pressed radial inwardly in the outlet channel and further into the outlet chamber.

  • Patent number: 6964097
Abstract: The present invention is a shaving apparatus that includes a razor cartridge having one or more razor blades, a housing, a flexible bladder, and a handle having an interior cavity and an actuator. The housing includes an exterior surface that is adjacent the razor cartridge and includes one or more ports. The housing is attached to an open end of the flexible bladder such that the one or more ports are in fluid communication with the contents of the flexible bladder. The flexible bladder stores a flowable shaving aid material and is disposed within an interior cavity in the handle. The actuator is operable to collapse the flexible bladder, thereby forcing the flowable shaving aid material from the flexible bladder to the one or more ports. Once the flowable shaving aid material exits the ports, it is dispensed on the surface being shaved adjacent the razor cartridge.

  • Patent number: 6955637
Abstract: In a separation device for separating particles from a liquid, which is present in a container, a centrifugal rotor is rotatable around a vertical rotational axis. The centrifugal rotor has a tubular inlet member, which extends down into liquid to be treated and which upon rotation of the centrifugal rotor forms a pumping member adapted to pump liquid upwardly and into the centrifugal rotor. The rotatable inlet member is surrounded by a non-rotatable wall, a sealing device being adapted to seal between the rotatable inlet member and the non-rotatable wall. Thereby is avoided that liquid is pumped upwardly on the outside of the inlet member. Furthermore, a smallest possible part of the outside of the inlet member can be in contact with liquid, independent of the level of the liquid surface in the container.

  • Patent number: 6953423
Abstract: The invention disclosed is control equipment for use with a nozzle centrifuge for separating a light phase liquid, a heavy phase liquid, and/or solids from a mixture thereof wherein the separated heavy phase and solids are continuously removed through nozzles that are arranged at the periphery of the rotor of the nozzle centrifuge. Separated light phase liquid is discharged through a central outlet in the rotor. Through a space in the rotor, which communicates with the radially outer part of the rotor separating chamber, liquid may either be supplied under pressure to the rotor or be discharged from the rotor far maintaining an interface layer formed in the separating chamber between separated light and heavy phases. A supply device and a discharge device are adapted to supply to the rotor and discharge from the rotor, respectively, only so much liquid as is required for the purpose.

  • Patent number: 6925716
Abstract: A shaving apparatus is provided that includes a reservoir, a support carriage, a razor cartridge, and a handle. The reservoir, which is operable to contain a non-solid shaving aid material, includes a selectively collapsible side wall surrounding an interior cavity having a volume. The support carriage includes a guide member and an applicator panel. The applicator panel includes one or more ports in fluid communication with the reservoir. One end of the reservoir is attached to the support carriage, and the other end of the reservoir is attached to the handle. The razor cartridge is mounted on the support carriage adjacent the applicator panel. The support carriage is movable relative to the handle in a manner that enables the reservoir side wall to collapse to decrease the volume of the reservoir, and thereby transfer shaving aid material from the reservoir to the one or more ports.

  • Patent number: 6925993
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning of crankcase gas coming from an internal combustion engine can be carried by and be releasably coupled to the combustion engine. For this purpose the apparatus comprises an adapter element, which can be connected with the combustion engine, and a housing, which can be releasably coupled to the adapter element and which delimits a separation chamber. The housing supports in the separation chamber a centrifugal rotor that is rotatable about a vertical rotational axis and is arranged for cleaning of the crankcase gas. The centrifugal rotor has a drive shaft extending downwards through a bottom in the separation chamber and into a drive chamber, in which the drive shaft carries a turbine wheel. A nozzle is arranged to spray pressurized lubricating oil against the turbine wheel for rotation thereof and of the centrifugal rotor.

  • Patent number: 6910274
Abstract: According to the present invention, a shaving apparatus handle includes an interior cavity, a housing, and an actuator. The interior cavity has a first end and a second end lengthwise, and is operable to store flowable shaving aid material. The housing is mounted on the handle and includes one or more ports in fluid communication with the contents of the interior cavity. The actuator is disposed within the interior cavity and includes a ratchet mechanism, a button, and a piston. The ratchet mechanism and the button are operable to work in concert to move the piston uni-directionally toward the second end of the interior cavity. The movement of the piston causes the flowable shaving aid material to be dispensed from the handle adjacent a razor cartridge.

  • Patent number: 6905611
Abstract: The invention refers to a device for separating a surface layer of a liquid by a container submerged in the liquid. The container includes a bottom, a wall member, connected to the bottom and having a variable length, and a separating member, which is connected to the wall member and communicates with a space in the container via an opening. An overflow portion of the separating member is located below a free liquid surface of the surface layer and permits the flowing of liquid. A discharge conduit extends from the space for liquid discharge. A floating member, connected to the separating member, floats on the liquid outside the container and exerts a lifting force upon the separating member in a direction prolonging the wall member. A submerging member is connected to the separating member and located below the over flow portion.

  • Patent number: 6851190
Abstract: A shaving aid delivery system for a shaving system includes a razor head having a resilient reservoir for holding a shaving aid and a piezoelectric ceramic disposed adjacent the resilient reservoir. The delivery system also includes a shaving strip disposed within the razor head, an actuator and an ejection port. The shaving strip is oriented to engage the skin of a user during a shaving stroke and the actuator electrically couples to the piezoelectric ceramic such that, upon activation, the actuator causes deformation of the piezoelectric ceramic which, in turn, deforms the resilient reservoir and forces the shaving aid from the reservoir through the ejection port. Alternatively, the actuator may include a shape memory alloy which, upon transformation between states, deforms the reservoir and forces the shaving aid from the reservoir through the ejection port.
