  • Patent number: 7056363
Abstract: A centrifugal separator for cleaning of a gas from solid and/or liquid particles suspended therein, includes a stationary housing and a rotor arranged therein. The rotor at its one axial end has a central inlet for gas to be cleaned and delimits a central space communicating with the inlet. Around the central space a stack of conical separation discs is arranged in the rotor. These discs form between themselves several through flow passages which at their one ends communicate with the central space in the rotor and at their other ends communicate directly with a receiving chamber surrounding the rotor in the stationary housing. The rotor supports several turbine blades, which are arranged in a ring around the central inlet of the rotor, and at least one nozzle is adapted to direct a gaseous driving fluid towards the turbine blades for the rotor rotation.

  • Patent number: 7052529
Abstract: In a vehicle adapted to be propelled by means of an internal combustion engine crankcase gases coming from the combustion engine are cleaned by means of a centrifugal separator. The rotor of the centrifugal separator is driven by means of pressurized air delivered by a compressor, e.g. a so called turbo compressor, which is driven by means of the combustion engine. During periods when the compressor delivers pressurized air in an insufficient amount and/or at insufficient pressure the rotor of the centrifugal separator is instead driven by means of pressurized air coming from a container containing so called auxiliary pressurized air. The auxiliary pressurized air may have a substantially larger pressure than the pressurized air normally delivered by the compressor. The combustion engine is used also for accomplishing the overpressure of the auxiliary pressurized air in the container.

  • Patent number: 7051560
Abstract: An exit sensor bar for securing a door has an elongated housing and a mounting pad for mounting to a door. A circuit board assembly is disposed within the elongated housing in proximity to a blade of the mounting pad. The circuit board assembly includes at least an electro-optical source and an electro-optical detector coupled to a lock. The electro-optical detector selectively energizing and de-energizing the lock in response to the detection of light emitted from the electro-optical source. When a push force is applied to the elongated housing, the housing is displaced toward the mounting pad such that the blade obstructs light emitted from the electro-optical source. In response to the non-detection of the emitted light, the electro-optical detector de-energizes the lock freeing the door for egress.

  • Patent number: 7047646
Abstract: A razor cartridge is provided that includes a frame, at least four razor blades, a guard that includes a contact surface, and a cap that includes a contact surface. The razor blades are supported by the frame. The guard is disposed forward of the razor blades and the cap is disposed aft of the razor blades. The razor blades are arranged so that the cutting edge of each razor blade is adjacent a plane that tangentially intersects the contact surfaces of the guard and the cap. As a result, each stroke of the razor exposes the surface being shaved to at least four razor blade cutting edges in succession. A unitary razor assembly that includes a head characterized in the same manner as the above-described cartridge is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7022150
Abstract: In a centrifugal separator, the rotor of which is adapted to be driven by means of a gaseous driving fluid, the rotor itself supports a ring of turbine blades extending around the rotational axis of the rotor. A stationary nozzle is adapted to direct a flow of the driving fluid towards the ring of turbine members. After the driving fluid has passed between the turbine blades and has influenced them for driving of the centrifugal rotor, it enters a reversing chamber formed by a stationary reversing member. In the reversing chamber the driving fluid is caused to change its direction and is then conducted again towards the ring of turbine members in order to be utilized a second time for driving of the centrifugal rotor.

  • Patent number: 7022163
Abstract: In a vehicle air is compressed for being used in the brake system of the vehicle, for instance. In the compressor, used for the compression, the air is contaminated with oil and solid particles. In order to be relieved from these particles, before the air is conveyed through a drying filter, the compressed is brought to rotation by means of a rotating member in a centrifugal separator. The rotating member may advantageously include a pile of conical separation discs forming flow passages between each other for the compressed air to be cleaned. By means of an efficient cleaning of the compressed air from particles the life time of the drying filter may be increased.

  • Patent number: 7007787
Abstract: An extended life ball transfer unit has a housing with a well of generally cup-shaped configuration with at least the lower portion of its surface being defined by a pair of radii mutually offset to opposite sides from its vertical axis to generate a gothic church arch cross section. A passage extends therethrough at the base of the housing well. Sealed in the well is a spherical conveyor ball having a radius of smaller length than the radii defining the lower surface of the well, and the well defining radii having their origins above the center of the conveyor ball. A multiplicity of spherical bearing balls is disposed between the conveyor ball and at least the lower portion of the well. The bearing balls support the conveyor ball and transferring the load from the conveyor ball to the housing over an annular area defined by an arc of about 5-15° with its center spaced about 30°–40° upwardly from the passage.

  • Patent number: 7001325
Abstract: A centrifugal separator has a centrifuge rotor and a casing, the casing forming an outer space for the rotor. The rotor is rotatable around a rotary axis and within the casing. The rotor includes a rotor wall, which defines an outer periphery of the rotor and encloses an inner space, an inlet, which extends through the rotor wall and permits feeding of a product to the inner space, and a number of outlets, which extend through the rotor wall and are arranged to permit intermittent discharge of a separated product from the inner space to the outer space. The outlets are distributed around the periphery of the rotor. The number of outlets is uneven, and a valve member extends around the rotor wall to define a space between the wall and the valve member at the level of the outlets.
