  • Patent number: 4506621
Abstract: A tilting rudder for conversion of a sailboat. The rudder pivots upwardly into concealment in a trunk located somewhat forward of the transom in the cockpit of a sailboat. A seal closes the trunk when the rudder is concealed and opens when the rudder is pivoted to the operative steering position. The rudder is journalled in a sleeve and the sleeve is supported in the trunk. The sleeve captures the rudder bar axially while permitting full rotation of the rudder for steerage. Gasketing at the aft upper corner of the trunk prevents any substantial leakage of water into the cockpit of the sailboat.

  • Patent number: 4506806
Abstract: An animal liquid lure dispenser for dispensing lures such as doe urine includes a lure container and an elongate lure flow tube which leads to a lure flow regulator. The regulator is adjustable between a flow stopping setting and one or more fixed flow settings which permit a constant lure flow rate out of the regulator. The dispenser is designed so that the user wears or carries the container with the regulator being at or near ground level.

  • Patent number: 4457290
Abstract: A compact knockdown charcoal cooker which includes an outer pan frame, a nesting fire tray and the outer pan frame forms the base for hinged back and side plates and in support of removable ferrule secured legs. The pan and tray are embossed with radial ribs from a rectangular crossed embossed depression in providing strength at light weight and in resistance to warpage. A grill is adjustably supported above the fire tray on notches in the front edges of the side plates and in corresponding perforations in the back plate. Assembly pins secure sides and back against collapse and all detachable elements are storable in the collapsed knockdown cooker in a rectangular package.

  • Patent number: 4447018
Abstract: A toggle type web lock using articulated bars in a channel frame to close on webbing with a force dependent upon tension in the webbing. The web lock is variably located in safety belt harness systems and is of greatest utility in prevention of webbing elongation in long runs of safety belt webbing.

  • Patent number: 4436084
Abstract: A portable, lightweight solar panel for mounting against window panes which incorporates an array of absorbers, diffusers and flow directors, reflectors, heat storage elements and an automatic flow directing valve. The heat concentrators are corrugated elements located to reflect heat and light from contact with the reflective surface to collectors located in the unit. The collectors or heat storage elements are positioned in the troughs of the corrugated elements and the tubular elements are in stand off relation to receive the parabolic focusing projection of the sun's rays. These units act as heat supplement means for interior space.

  • Patent number: 4434953
Abstract: A dual spool pretensioner serving dual spool retractors in a common frame by transversely projecting a piston element between the adjacent shaft extensions. The shaft extensions are upset as by knurling and a portion of the piston element is in an interference path with the upset portion of the shafts. The piston is cartridge driven by pyrotechnic means and the portion of the piston means, in the guided interference path with the upset, is deformed during passage between the shafts so that the shafts and the reels attached thereto are positively rotated and webbing on such reels is wound thereon. The pretensioner is removably attached by its case to the retractor frame and stresses in the pretensioner are thereby transmitted through the retractor frame to the mounting thereof.

  • Patent number: 4427164
Abstract: A cinch lock for safety belt retractors in which a manually operated plunger acts on the lock pawl to apply a spring bias to the pawl toward lock engagement with the retractor ratchets and in prevention of webbing withdrawal independent of the automatic inertial locks and independent of associated comfort mechanisms. The plunger directly engages the pawl in only one direction of stroke and the manual lock is released and frustrated by a predetermined amount of webbing wound on the retractor spool.

  • Patent number: 4426083
Abstract: A putter for playing golf having a club head that is symmetrical on each side of a central stem and having a handle which extends between about 10 degrees and 15 degrees from vertical as presented by the stem. The top of the club head carries sighting or aiming indicia and the handle extends down the shaft for a length in excess of half of the height of the putter or golf club. The sighting indicia is parallel and spaced-apart the distance of about the diameter of a golf ball on the top surface of the putter so that in aligning shots the lines of sight over the ball converge on the target and bracket the ball.

  • Patent number: 4425686
Abstract: A telescoping fastener which is concealed upon the interconnection of two separate structures or elements is described. A male element is fastened as by a screw extension to one panel and a recess is provided in the other structural element or panel into which the male element is insertable to form the concealed self-locking joint. In the recess is positioned a cage-like female element which is centered on the axis of the recess as by a threaded member, such as a screw. The male element is pressed axially into the female portion and is frictionally gripped by selected parts of the cage impinging against the male portion at entry. This secures the two elements or portions in prevention of axial withdrawal and centers or stabilizes the male element against wobble or float. Where the cage requires strengthening, the strength is achieved by extending the head of the screw for the female element so that it buttresses the caging and may telescopically receive the male element where the male element is tubular.
