  • Patent number: 7784811
Abstract: The present invention discloses a deflecting apparatus for wheelchairs to prevent objects from rolling underneath wheelchairs, especially when engaged in sport activities. The apparatus is an accessory item that attaches in the front of a wheelchair below the seat and just above the floor/ground level. It is configured as a guard specifically to prevent sport balls such as basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs and the like from being trapped under the wheelchair. The apparatus is attached with a pair of clamping arms on the rear of the plate to connect the apparatus to the specific structure of the wheelchair, particularly on the kick plate and is adjustable to conform to various sizes of kick plates. Alternate embodiments could serve as deflectors for other objects that may become hazardous to the wheelchair free movement if allowed to travel underneath the chair from the front.

  • Patent number: 7775542
Abstract: An apparatus designed to aid in the lifting of support legs on fifth wheel travel trailers is herein disclosed. The device may be applied thereto one (1) or both front support legs of a fifth wheel trailer to aid in the lifting of support landing legs during the stowaway process, comprised of a “U”-shaped bracket and a retaining pin and fastener which fit around and through the bottom of the landing leg as provided as part of a trailer. A support arm is welded onto the face of the “U”-shaped bracket which is provided with a protective rubber tip. To use the invention, the trailer is attached to a tow vehicle as part of the customary towing process. During the landing leg stowaway process, the user simply removes the landing leg pin as provided with the trailer. Next, the leg is lifted using the invention until the leg is stowed in the upright position. This procedure ensures that the user's hands or fingers will not be pinched or crushed during the process.

  • Patent number: 7765736
Abstract: The invention as presently conceived discloses a unique system and method that incorporates a self-watering tree stand that is an improvement on a conventional floor-standing holiday tree stand and watering system. The design of this novel tree stand is that it supports the tree from the tree's midsection that allows gravity to self-level the tree held within the stand. The stand comprises a large circular base for stability as well as adjustable height watering cup that can be brought up to the bottom of the tree and is fed from a water reservoir located on the vertical section of the stand at the outside perimeter of the tree. Also integral to the system and apparatus is a power receptacle fed from a power cord located near the top of the stand in order to power decorative lights or other electric tree decorations.

  • Patent number: 7762517
Abstract: An adjustable picture hanger includes a mounting base that is fastened to the wall using screws or similar fasteners in the general location where the picture or wall hanging is to be hung. Movable inner and outer carriages on the bracket are adjustable in an up/down, and/or left/right directions using two adjustable fastening that allows positioning of the carriage in the X-Y axis. Surface indicia are printed on the mounting base and the outer carriage that define a relative position of said inner and outer carriages so that the user can measure minute distances within a perimeter of said mounting base. Thus, very fine adjustments can be applied to perfectly position any picture or wall hanging.

  • Patent number: 7762555
Abstract: A device for holding and viewing playing cards is herein provided and discloses an apparatus that allows the viewing of playing cards that are placed down on the device for players who have limited use of their hands or would benefit from such a device. The device takes the form of an angled stand, preferably comprising approximate dimensions of four (4) inches by six (6) inches where a portion of this area is used to hold the cards face down, as placed there by a dealer or a player's assistant. The device is shielded so that adjacent players are denied the ability to view the cards. A dual mirror assembly is visible through a viewing window that is used by the player. In such a manner, players with limited or no use of their hands or arms can see their cards in an easy manner without the aid of another person. Alternate embodiments for the present device comprise different sizes to facilitate any number of playing cards required by desired card games.

  • Patent number: 7757434
Abstract: An apparatus for securing and irrigating a live tree such as a Christmas tree is herein disclosed. The apparatus incorporates a tree ornament that has an internal water reservoir which is fluidly connected to a tree base stand. Besides holding the tree securely erect, the base stand provides the primary water reservoir for the tree. The ornament is affixed to the tree in a conventional manner with a small diameter hose extending from the ornament to the base stand reservoir. The base reservoir has a float valve that allows water to drain into the base from the ornament while controlling a maximum water level. The apparatus is particularly useful for trees that are difficult to reach, or for people who have difficulty in bending over, kneeling, or crawling under a tree.

  • Patent number: 7757435
Abstract: A decorative Christmas tree ornament which functions as a funnel system to aid in the watering of the tree is herein disclosed. The ornament comprises a flip-open lid, thus exposing an interior reservoir. The ornament itself takes the form of a common Christmas icon such as a snowman, an angel, a bell, a gingerbread man, a globe or the like. The bottom of the reservoir is connected to a section of tubing approximately four (4) to five (5) feet long. The tubing is routed along the branch and down the trunk where it empties into a conventional Christmas tree stand supplied with a water basin. The tubing and ornament are held in place with a plurality of clips. Thus, to water the tree, one simply opens the ornament, pours in a quantity of water and walks away. The system is viewed as being particularly useful for trees that are difficult to reach, or for people who have difficulty in bending over, kneeling or crawling under a Christmas tree.

  • Patent number: 7757429
Abstract: invention as presently conceived discloses a spring-loaded, baited mouse/rat/rodent trap device having a zig-zag configured spring trap bar. Although resembling a conventional spring-loaded mouse trap, the snap wire bar is not straight but has a “Z” or zig-zag shape. The zig-zag snap bar provides for a wider capture surface area of as much as an extra half-inch, dependent upon the overall trap dimensions. The bar's overall weight and wind resistance is still minor, and allows the bar to travel at a high rate of speed. The effective wider configuration makes it much more likely that the bar strike some part of the rodent's body resulting in a higher trap or kill ratio.
