Abstract: Channel estimates calculated by a channel estimator (32) are linearly interpolated (34). When transmissions from transmitting antennas are stopped due to a deterioration of the propagation environment, since a larger amount of computing resources become available for use, a channel estimate selector 36 selects the linearly interpolated channel estimates and supplies them to an MIMO demultiplexer 38 which can thus cope with fast fading.
Abstract: Binning of predictor values used for generating a data mining model provides useful reduction in memory footprint and computation during the computationally dominant decision tree build phase, but reduces the information loss of the model and reduces the introduction of false information artifacts. A method of binning data in a database for data mining modeling in a database system, the data stored in a database table in the database system, the data mining modeling having selected at least one predictor and one target for the data, the data including a plurality of values of the predictor and a plurality of values of the target, the method comprises constructing a binary tree for the predictor that splits the values of the predictor into a plurality of portions, pruning the binary tree, and defining as bins of the predictor leaves of the tree that remain after pruning, each leaf of the tree representing a portion of the values of the predictor.

Abstract: A communication control method, for a radio communication system including a radio base station, a radio terminal, and a relay station that receives a radio signal transmitted from the radio base station and relays the radio signal to the radio terminal at a transmission frequency different from a reception frequency, includes broadcasting information on one or more transmission frequencies of radio base stations or relay stations from the radio base station; and determining, by the radio terminal, whether transmission-source identification information included in the radio signals that are received before and after switching the reception frequency match, the switching being conducted based on the information broadcasted from one of the radio base station directly and via the relay station, wherein if the radio terminal determines that the transmission-source identification information matches, the radio terminal omits a terminal registering procedure after frame-synchronization with the radio communication
Abstract: In a transmission diversity control method in which a request to start or stop transmission diversity is issued by a reception station to a transmission station having a transmission diversity function, the reception station is provided with an equalizer to reduce multipath interference on the basis of a signal correlation, a transmission diversity start request is issued from the reception station to the transmission station when an effect generated by the equalizer is small, and a transmission diversity stop request is issued from the reception station to the transmission station when the effect generated by the equalizer is large.
Abstract: A quality level analysis unit 504 specifies a coding method, communication line conditions, and a quality level, such as an S/N ratio and the like, of voices of an input channel, received by a corresponding receiving unit 501. A channel allocation/mixing unit 502 controls the allocation or mixing of voices of respective input channels to or into respective output channels 503 (output units 505) on the basis of the results of analysis by the quality level analysis unit 504. Consequently, loud speakers from which poor quality voices and good quality voices are output can be separated from one another, thus improving the total intelligibility of received voices.
Abstract: A golf club head with an adjustable hosel that sits within a cavity loaded with filler material. The cavity may generally extend from crown to sole or, in the alternative, extend only a partial amount of the distance from the crown to the sole.
Abstract: A communication network access device is adapted for duplex communication and provides transmit and receive signal paths. A controllable socket is coupled to the transmit and receive signal paths and linked to a control interface for activating/deactivating the control interface. A pluggable module is coupled to the transmit and receive signal paths via the controllable socket in an activated status and to a transmission path carrying uni-directional signals. The module includes a first optical device and a splitter in the transmission path and is coupled to a second optical device via the splitter. The second optical device responds to a portion of uni-directional signals provided by the splitter for placing the communication access device in a link up condition for uni-directional signals provided by the first optical device to the transmission path serving an optical local area network.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a transmission resource assignment method for response signals, a feedback method of response signals and a processing method of response signals.
Abstract: A wireless base station apparatus includes a path detecting unit configured to detect a preamble signal sent from a terminal and obtain a back-diffusion timing; a back-diffusion unit configured to execute back-diffusion processing on a message signal sent from the terminal, by using the back-diffusion timing reported from the path detecting unit; and a calculating unit configured to calculate a frequency deviation of the message signal that has been subjected to the back-diffusion processing, based on a pilot signal of the message signal that has been subjected to the back-diffusion processing. The path detecting unit includes an information detecting unit configured to detect a frequency deviation of the preamble signal when detecting the preamble signal and supply the frequency deviation of the preamble signal to the calculating unit as initial value information.
Abstract: An efficient article and method for automating the process of changing the status of a voicemail (or other multimedia message or object) that is stored in a multimedia server (such as a voicemail server), when the voicemail has been associated with an email, and the email has been opened by the intended recipient.
Abstract: A packet transferring/transmitting method is provided for use in a mobile communication system 50. In this packet transferring/transmitting method, an upper node 1 determines the implementation of handover (determination step), and a handover addressing node 2 transfers, of a plurality of packets, a non-transmitted residual packet to a handover addressed node 3, and the upper node 1 transmits a new packet to the handover addressed node 3 (transfer/transmission step). This enables maintaining the number of users to be accommodated while securing a wide bandwidth, sharing a line with high efficiency at soft handover, avoiding data residual in the case of the employment of variable communication rate, and preventing an increase in retransmission.
Abstract: A reception unit receives data from communication apparatuses. A transmission unit transmits data to the communication apparatuses. A control unit determines, in an adaptive way, which modulation and coding schemes to use to transmit and receive data. At a first stage, a modulation and coding scheme with a low transmission rate or a modulation and coding scheme that minimizes power requirements is selected from among a plurality of candidates therefor. At a second stage, the modulation and coding scheme of at least one of the communication apparatuses is changed to another scheme having a higher transmission rate, when it is impossible to allocate sufficient resources for the modulation and coding schemes selected at the first stage.
Abstract: Radio equipment (RE) is shared so as to use a plurality of types of radio signals, and data (IQ data) of the plurality of types of radio signals and monitoring control data are variably arranged in a frame for transmitting and receiving data between the RE and radio equipment controls (RECs). A plurality of types of data are simultaneously transmitted and received by one communication link between the RE and the RECs.
Abstract: Provided is a radio resource allocation method of allocating common radio resources shared among a plurality of radio stations or a plurality of sectors to each of the plurality of radio stations or each of the plurality of sectors. The method includes defining, as a frame set, a given number of radio frames for repeatedly providing the common radio resources along a time axis, defining, as radio resource units, minimum units obtained by dividing the common radio resources provided by the frame set in units of the radio frames and in units of sub-channel groups, and allocating at least one of the radio resource units to each of the plurality of radio stations or the each of the plurality of sectors.

Abstract: A base station assigns a subcarrier for downlink communications under Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access. Before downlink communications with a mobile station, based on carrier sensing by the mobile station, the base station detects information concerning an available subcarrier from downlink signals using a modulating unit. The information concerning the available subcarrier is stored in a downlink-information sharing unit and is shared among the base station and the adjacent base stations. A downlink subcarrier setting unit sets the available subcarrier for downlink communications.

Abstract: A resource allocation control unit is provided between the despreading process unit and the channel decoding process unit of a radio base station receiver, and a resource for a channel decoding process is allocated only when there is actually user communication data in a communication service that is not of a continuous data communication under control of the resource allocation control unit. Thereby, the number of resources of the channel decoding process unit is smaller than the number of resources for despreading processes corresponding to the number of users that can receive the services simultaneously.
