  • Patent number: 4761997
Abstract: The dimensioning of a ground water well is obtained by investigating the yield characteristics of the ground water region by conducting a series of pumping runs using an observation tube in stepwise pumping cycles of short time intervals (15 seconds to 20 minutes), and measuring the hydrostatic height of the water of each run, finding the yields as a function of the level drop. The yield of the production well, compared with the yield of the observation tube, is found from the ratio of the strainer sections and observation tube, using a predetermined empirical factor corresponding to the different sizes of the strainer. In the case of ground water deposits at very great depth, the yield may be explored by an inverted method in that water is pumped into the ground and the hydrostatic pressure is measured with different pumping rates.

  • Patent number: 4745880
Abstract: The milkmeter has a truncated cone shaped float and measuring container with the ratio of the smallest diameters of the truncated cones being equal to the ratio of their largest diameters. The float is suspended by its top. The meter measures accurately constant milk weights irrespective of the quantity of air in the milk. The float is more stable than a cylindrical one and the meter is more accurate because of a very small volume below the float in the rest position.

  • Patent number: 4746212
Abstract: A bottle cap inspection apparatus having a circular shaped light source which is placed to irradiate a cap on a bottle mouth from above; a photoelectric conversion sensor above the cap for receiving the light reflected from the cap; and, an electronic processor for processing an electrical signal from the photoelectric conversion sensor to detect defects in the cap. The bottle is placed under the photoelectric conversion sensor in a manner such that the center axis of the bottle coincides with the optical axis of the photoelectric conversion sensor, and the center of the circular light source coincides with the optical axis. An optical mask is located between the light source and the cap on the bottle mouth such that it defines an outer peripheral surface of a visual field of the photoelectric conversion sensor looking at the bottle mouth as well as an inner peripheral surface of the irradiation range onto the bottle mouth from the circular light source as different conical shapes.

  • Patent number: 4741433
Abstract: The invention relates to child resistant boxes of the type where a storage container slides in a closure sleeve. Such a box, according to the invention, may have sliding movement in two different dimensions to open or close the box. Opening movement in one of the dimensions may partially open the box and opening movement in the second dimension may fully open it. Closing is by reversing the movements. A latch is provided to keep the box closed. It is movable into a release position in which it does releases the container so that the box may be opened. The initial opening movement may suitably be rectilinear movement and the second movement may be rotary. The movement may be controlled by means of a cam slot on one of the housing or container engaging a lug on the other.
