  • Patent number: 4599083
Abstract: There is provided a method and device for fluid transfer. The device comprises a housing-like body with a wall having a concavity. Inside the housing there is disposed a magnetically activatable diaphragm capable of forming, in conjunction with the concavity, one or more pocket-like chambers. The housing also includes an inlet and outlet aperture. The device includes a plurality of means for producing magnetic fields arranged in proximity to the concavity and adapted to generate, in a predeterminable sequence, a plurality of magnetic fields of controllably changing polarities and intensities producing cycles of dynamic deflections of the diaphragm. By means of the magnetically generated dynamic deflections of the diaphragm, the pocket-like chambers are peristaltically manipulated to move fluid from the region of the inlet aperture through which the fluid is drawn in, towards the region of the outlet aperture, through which the fluid is expelled.

  • Patent number: 4597597
Abstract: A connection assembly for connecting flexible tubes such as flexible tubes of a solar heat exchanger to a header pipe. The connection assembly includes a tubular spigot member which co-acts at one end with a sleeve to compress the tube and maintain the tube in sealing engagement with the spigot member. The opposite end of the spigot member is engaged with the header pipe by means of a hollow flexible plug which is located in an aperture in the header pipe and which expands radially outwardly on engagement with the spigot member to prevent withdrawal of the spigot member and ensure efficient sealing therearound.

  • Patent number: 4586464
Abstract: A cylindrically hollow housing has an inlet at its upper end and an outlet at the lower end. A valve seat having a primary bore extending axially through its center is located in the housing dividing it into an upper and a lower chamber communicating through the primary bore. A ball is freely located in the upper chamber and an operating lever extends axially through the outlet opening. The lever has a flanged head closing the outlet. The lever is resiliently biased in a first position wherein the head closes the outlet and is movable into a second position wherein the outlet is open for the passage of fluid. The valve is arranged so that when the lever is in the first position the primary bore is open for fluid flow and when the lever is in the second position the ball occludes the primary bore.
