  • Patent number: 4744795
Abstract: The present invention relates to coal water slurries containing about 0.01% to 1% by weight of a water soluble terpolymer of ethylacrylate/methacrylic acid/ unsaturated carboxylic acid ester of an ethoxylated or nonethoxylated alcohol or an ethoxylated carboxylic acid. The water soluble terpolymer functions as a stablizing agent for the coal water slurry to prevent sedimentation and provide ease of pumping the coal water slurry. The water soluble terpolymer may be used alone or in combination with anionic or nonionic dispersants.
