  • Patent number: 8219717
Abstract: A port setting method of an application system comprises: requesting a naming server for object information corresponding to name information of the other components upon data transmission to the other components; determining whether there exists consistent information based on the object information of the other components received from the naming server; if there exists consistent information, selecting a first and certain protocol, and otherwise, selecting a second protocol; and establishing a connection with the other components by use of the selected protocol. The actual location of the components can be sensed based on Endpoint information of IOR without adding no particular information to the domain profile (xml profile), and a more efficient protocol can be selected depending on the position of each component, thereby enhancing data transmission performance and efficiency in SCA port communications between components.

  • Patent number: 8217215
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a process and plant for the transformation of dangerous wastes containing chromium six as contaminant into non dangerous wastes that can be stored without special care and will be degraded in the environment without time limit. The process basically consists of milling, extracting chromium six in liquid phase and under controlled conditions of stirring, time and temperature, proceeding then, through reduction, to transform the chromium six in chromium three and then precipitating as chromium trioxide, through gasification. The solid resulting from the transformation process can be used as raw material for the manufacturing of firebricks or eventually for the manufacturing of bricks used in the building industry through a process not included in the instant description.

  • Patent number: 8218234
Abstract: An illumination device for a microscope has a variable working distance (d, d?), at which an object is illuminated obliquely from two different directions. Light from a light source is split into at least two illumination beam paths. In order to adapt to the different working distances, the light is subjected to an angle change before splitting or, if after splitting, then respectively by the same amount in both beam paths. A deviating element with at least two reflective surfaces is arranged in one of the illumination beam paths to induce a change in an angle at which one of the illumination beam paths strikes the object, in the same sense as another illumination beam path. The reflective surfaces may be arranged so that the illumination beam paths strike essentially the same region of the optical axis even with different working distances.

  • Patent number: 8214783
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for stage evaluation of a state machine model. Two types of transitions are used: first-stage transitions and second-stage transitions for a two-stage evaluation. In one embodiment, top-down processing and bottom-up processing may be combined using a two-stage evaluation. First-stage transitions are used with top-down processing while second-stage transitions are used with bottom-up processing. Certain conditions are used to determine if a switch from one type of stage processing to another type of stage processing is needed.

  • Patent number: 8214423
Abstract: A computer aided design (CAD) system is described where each type of change in a CAD-generated object is automatically and chronologically protocoled so that the object directly includes an abstract description of the history of the object independent of the CAD module used. This is particularly advantageous with decentralized CAD systems in which several constructors/designers are working together on the same draft, but located in different places. At the end of a session, the object history, i.e., the changes which have taken place, are directly exported, together with the object data, into the destination system. The abstract description is in a form independent of the system used.

  • Patent number: 8209663
Abstract: Methods and systems for selecting multiple entities of a model or models to set or change data of the multiple entities together in a modeling environment are disclosed. When users create or edit a model or models, information on the entities of the model or models is provided to the users so that the users can select multiple entities in the model or models. On the selection of the multiple entities in the model or models, the modeling environment dynamically generates a user interface for the selected entities of the model or models for displaying, setting or changing data of the selected entities together. The user interface may display data of the selected entities that is not common to all of the selected entities in a different manner so that the users can identify common data of the selected entities.

  • Patent number: 8209350
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide methods, mediums, and systems for collecting and updating associated information. The present invention also provides a method and system for managing associated information in one file structure. Associated information can be generated from a source file or data and a portfolio can be generated to collect and store the source file or data and the associated information. A portfolio can include multiple folios storing different aspects of information that are related to one another. Each folio can associate information with aspects of other folios. When a change has occurred on a folio, an update strategy is used to update related folios and a map may be optionally generated. The map may provide information that allows dependent folios to understand what was changed. The map may remain in existence until all the dependent folios have adapted to the change.

  • Patent number: 8205916
Abstract: A metal ring gasket provides a high-pressure temperature tolerant metal-to-metal seal between subcomponents of a threaded union. The metal ring gasket is received in an annular cavity formed between mating surfaces of the subcomponents of the threaded union. The metal ring gasket is capable of maintaining a fluid seal even at very high temperatures resulting from direct exposure to fire. At high fluid pressures the metal ring gasket is energized because hoop stress induced by the fluid pressure forces the metal ring gasket into tighter contact with the subcomponents of the threaded union.
