Abstract: The present invention is directed to variants of antigens comprising folate binding protein epitopes as a composition associated with providing immunity against a tumor in an individual. The variant is effective in inducing cytotoxic T-lymphocytes but preferably not to the extent that they become sensitive to silencing by elimination, such as by apoptosis, or by anergy, as in unresponsiveness.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to generate code to represent a graphical model formed of multiple graphical modeling components and at least one variable-sized signal is presented. Each variable-sized signal is represented using a size-vector in the generated code. The generated code is optimized by representing multiple variable-sized signals with the same size-vector such that at least two variable-sized signals share a size-vector in the generated code. The size of the variable-sized signal is capable of changing during the execution of the graphical model. The method and apparatus also identifies the owners of the variable-sized signals.
Abstract: A fuel cell system and method comprising a fuel cell stack formed by stacking fuel cells, a high voltage energy storage capable of being directly coupled to the fuel cell stack, a DC-DC converter connected to the fuel cell stack and the energy storage, a load operated by consuming at least electrical energy generated by the fuel cell stack or electrical energy discharged from the energy storage, a fuel cell warming up control unit for warming up the fuel cell stack, and a voltage adjustment unit for implementing voltage control to control the output voltage of the fuel cell stack to become equal to, or higher than the terminal voltage of the energy storage, at the time of warming up the fuel cell stack.
Abstract: A motor including a stator and rotor. The stator includes a stator core, slot portions and coils. The stator core includes stator core pieces with teeth portion having a distal end portion and two side portions, a yoke portion, and a claw portion formed at one of the two side portions. At the distal end portion, the stator core pieces are connected so that claw portions protrude in the same circumferential direction to form the stator core into a cylindrical shape. The slot portions are formed between adjacent teeth portions and between the stator core pieces. The coils form three phases which are inserted into the slot portions, are bridged between two of the slot portions and include end portions that protrude from an edge face of the stator core in an axial direction. The coils are arranged so that the end portions are intersected with each other.
Abstract: The present invention provides isolated monoclonal antibodies, particularly human antibodies, that bind to IP-10 with high affinity, inhibit the binding of IP-10 to its receptor, inhibit IP-10-induced calcium flux and inhibit IP-10-induced cell migration. Nucleic acid molecules encoding the antibodies of the invention, expression vectors, host cells and methods for expressing the antibodies of the invention are also provided. Immunoconjugates, bispecific molecules and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the antibodies of the invention are also provided. The invention also provides methods for inhibiting IP-10 activity using the antibodies of the invention, including methods for treating various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Abstract: An exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, which is capable of properly regenerating a NOx catalyst, while properly controlling NOx catalyst temperature and ensuring excellent drivability. As a regeneration operation, the exhaust emission control device feedback-controls a detected reducing condition of exhaust gases to a predetermined reducing condition, by controlling the amount of main fuel injected by main injection or feedback-controls the same to the predetermined reducing condition by controlling the amount of auxiliary fuel injected by auxiliary injection. The device determines whether the regeneration operation should be executed in a catalyst temperature control mode for controlling the NOx catalyst temperature. If, as a result of the determination, the regeneration operation should be executed in the catalyst temperature control mode, the device selects the feedback control of the main fuel amount, and otherwise selects the feedback control of the auxiliary fuel amount.
Abstract: A mechanism to dynamically vary the amount of delay for an event-generated function call is discussed. The event causing the generation of the function call may be a signal-based event, function call event or some other type of event. A function call generating delay component is inserted into a DES model and dynamically adjusts the amount of delay to apply prior to generating and transmitting the function call to an intended target component. The function call generating component reads a value from an input port in determining the amount of delay. The identified value at the input port may be a signal value or an attribute associated with an event entity received at the port.
Abstract: The object is to isolate and identify human and mouse adiponectin receptors, to provide a novel protein having adiponectin binding ability, and to provide a screening method and screening kit for a ligand, agonist and antagonist to an adiponectin receptor using such protein. To achieve this object, a protein is used, as novel protein having adiponectin binding ability, that is (a) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence according to Seq. Abstract: Upon stop of electric power generation of a fuel cell a hydrogen shutoff valve is closed, and a cathode is purged. At the same time, an air introducing valve and the purge valve are opened. The air taken in by the compressor is introduced into the anode through the air introducing tube to exhaust the hydrogen remaining in the anode to replace the hydrogen with the air. When the replacement of the hydrogen with the air has been finished, the compressor is turned off and the air introducing valve and the purge valve are opened. After that, if a temperature of the fuel cell is determined to be equal to or lower than a threshold “a”, a cathode-prioritized purge and an anode-prioritized purging are performed.
