  • Patent number: 6107616
Abstract: A system for protecting a pendulous oscillating gyroscopic accelerometer (POGA) from power failure interruption (PFI) events, the POGA having a servo driven member (SDM), rotor driven member (RDM), and torque summing member (TSM), wherein the POGA is a part of an accelerometer system of a guidance system which detects such events and communicates them to the accelerometer system. In the invention, the acceleration is stored just prior to the PFI induced system shut-down, and after the PFI the POGA drives are turned back on. The velocity change during the PFI is determined based on the TSM deflection occurring during the PFI event, acceleration existing at the beginning, and elapsed time. This is reported to the guidance system in a timely fashion.

  • Patent number: 6102062
Abstract: A quick connect/disconnect coupler having a slidable piston to connect and disconnect to a standard fitting or coupling attached to suitable tubing. The coupling is slidably received by the coupler and locked in place by the piston. In the locked position, the coupling depresses a valve pin in the piston which opens a passageway in the coupler. At the same time, a depressor in the coupler depresses a valve stem in the coupling, thereby allowing bi-directional gas flow to the device being serviced from the service apparatus, or vice versa. A method of charging or discharging refrigeration apparatus with said coupler is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6096008
Abstract: Operation system with a gas and/or liquid pump, to which is connected at least one flexible-tubing line and which includes at least one control device controlling the flow-through quantity of the gas and/or the liquid in the flexible-tubing line, is proposed. In addition, an operator's control unit with actuating elements is provided, which is joined to the control device by means of a control line and with which the flow-through quantity can be adjusted. Control line (24) and actuating elements (16, 17) form at least two control channels independent of one another and the control device includes a memory, which stores a multiple number of control programs providing application-specific procedures, which can be selected on and off by a specific actuation pattern of actuating elements (16, 17). Prespecified actuation patterns of actuating elements (16, 17) are assigned to the control programs, by means of which the course of the application-specific procedure can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 6089172
Abstract: A lock stitch sewing machine with an automatic thread tension adjusting device is disclosed, wherein the sewing machine has a plurality of thread tension adjusting mechanisms 7, each of which including a pair of thread tension disks 12, 13, one of which is normally pressed by a spring toward the other. A sensor 4 is responsive to the operation of a thread tension releasing lever 20 made by a user with a slight touch applied thereto to give a signal. A CPU1 is responsive to the signal to compare the value of the existing thread tension of the thread tension adjusting mechanisms 7 with a predetermined one. If the value of the existing thread tension is higher than the predetermined one, the CPU1 is operated reduce the value of the existing thread tension to a predetermined one. Thus the tension releasing operation ability is increased.

  • Patent number: 6082604
Abstract: A fastening tool having an alignment device that prevents the tool from firing unless the tool is properly aligned with respect to the object to be fastened. The tool includes a housing and a driver mounted in the housing and moveable with respect to the housing, the driver having a driving surface for engaging a fastener such as a staple. A magazine assembly and nosepiece are associated with the housing for positioning and aligning the fastener in the path of the driver so that when actuated, the driver strikes the fastener and forcibly ejects it from the magazine into the substrate on which the object to be fastened is to be secured. The magazine can be removably secured to the housing. A nose piece assembly having a semi-circular bottom cut-out is secured to the housing and includes a mechanism for ensuring that the object to be fastened is properly aligned in the cut-out before the driver can be actuated.
