Abstract: Plural carrier rails are arranged radially relative to a trick gap, and yarn carriers are made to run on the rails. In the yarn carrier, a feeder rod is mounted on a yarn rod guide so that the the rod can slide up and down. The feeder rod is pushed up by a spring coil, and the feeder rod is pushed down by a catching member toward the trick gap.
Abstract: In a broadening course, a yarn feeder of which front and back agree with the front and back of a fabric is used as a preceding yarn feeder, and a yarn feeder of which front and back are reverse is used as the succeeding yarn feeder,(a) the preceding first yarn feeder is used to knit the first fabric, and to newly feed yarn to needles of the opposing needle bed on the lower side of the knitting direction of the course, and to needles of the original needle bed, and(b) the succeeding yarn feeder is used to knit the first fabric, and to feed yarn again to either one of needles to which yarn was newly fed by the first yarn feeder in the above-mentioned step a.
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system for a multi-cylinder engine is provided. An air-fuel ratio sensor is arranged in an exhaust system of the engine for detecting an air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine and for generating an output indicative of the air-fuel ratio of the mixture. An adaptive controller determines an amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine with a first predetermined repetition period in a manner such that the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor becomes equal to a desired value. An adaptive parameter-adjusting mechanism adjusts adaptive parameters used by the adaptive controller. In the adaptive parameter-adjusting mechanism, the adaptive parameters are calculated with a second predetermined repetition period longer than the first predetermined repetition period, and output data indicative of results of the calculation is generated.
Abstract: A system for filtering events which have occurred within a predetermined period of time includes a first generation unit for generating association rules between the events (parameters) which simultaneously occur within the predetermined period of time, a second generation unit for generating groups of events suited for the VAR model analysis based upon the association rules generated in the first generation unit, an analysis unit for analyzing groups of events generated in the second generation unit, the analysis of the event groups being executed by using the VAR model analysis, and a verifying unit for verifying reliability of the association rules generated in the first generation unit, the verification being executed by using the VAR model.
Abstract: In an exhaust secondary air supply system including an electric air pump and a flow rate control valve disposed in an air supply passage connected to an exhaust passage of an engine, the electric air pump is first driven after the start of the engine, and the flow rate control valve is then opened after a lapse of a predetermined time. At a time after starting the driving of the electric air pump, the abnormality of the electric air pump is detected by comparing a deviation between the current before and after driving of the electric air pump with a predetermined reference value. After opening of the flow rate control valve, the abnormality of the flow rate control valve is detected by comparing the deviation between the current before and after the opening of the flow rate control valve with a predetermined reference value.

Abstract: A paper feed unit of a printer which includes a hopper on which a large number of sheets of recording paper can be stacked. A paper feed roller comes into contact with a portion of the uppermost sheet of paper on the hopper. A separating pad is opposed to the paper feed roller wherein the sheet of paper passes between the paper feed roller and the separating pad when the paper feed roller is normally rotated and the second and after sheets of paper are restricted by the separating pad. A mechanism is provided for rotating the paper feed roller forwardly and reversely. The printer determines completion of a printing operation and controls the mechanism for rotating based on a printing command. The reverse rotating is controlled to rotate the paper feed roller by a predetermined number of revolutions when the printing command is not given to the successive sheet of paper after a predetermined period of time has passed from completion of the printing operation conducted on an arbitrary sheet of paper.
Abstract: Bis-platinum(II) complexes with polyamine ligands, including spermidine and spermine, are disclosed. The method of making the bis-platinum(II) complexes, using a DMF complex, and the use of the bis-platinum complexes for the treatment of tumors in mammals are also disclosed. The method of making the polyamine ligands and the use of a new polyamine compound as an intermediate in the synthesis of polyamine ligands are also disclosed.

Abstract: An accelerator pedal device has a bracket having a pin, a pedal arm turnably supported by the bracket through the pin, a return spring arranged to surround the pin for biasing the pedal arm, and an accelerator-opening sensor mounted on the bracket. An engaging portion is disposed at the leading end of the pedal arm, a rotor of the accelerator-opening sensor and the engaging portion are associated through the crank mechanism. As a driver depresses the accelerator pedal, the pedal arm turns on the pin, by the action of the crank mechanism engaging with the engaging portion it the leading end of the pedal arm, the rotor of the accelerator-opening sensor is rotated, and a voltage signal according to the depression stroke is outputted from the accelerator-opening sensor.
Abstract: An electric working machine having an electric motor and batteries for providing power to the motor is provided. Power for charging the batteries is provided to the working machine through a connector. A key member is provided which comprises a key body having one end for insertion into and removal from a switch, and an operation portion which is integrally or removably provided at the other end of the key body extending sideways from the key body. The connector is positioned to the side of the switch at a location where it is covered by the operating portion of the key member at a turned position of the key member when the switch is in a first state, such that the connection of the connector with an external power source is made impossible.
Abstract: When a new yarn is received by a hook to form a new stitch loop, to prevent old stitch loops from going beyond the top end of the slider and being knocked over, the advanced position of the slider into the trick gap is maintained, and the new stitch loops are pulled into the old stitch loops. Next, the hook of a compound needle of the opposing needle bed is inserted into the old stitch loop, and said slider is lowered and retracted, and at the same time, the old stitch loops are transferred onto the hooks of the opposing needle bed to make split knit.
Abstract: The present invention concerns an antibody against a hepatitis G virus antigen as well as a fragment of this antibody. The invention additionally concerns hybridoma cell lines as well as a conjugate that contains this antibody or the antibody fragment coupled to a biological molecule. Finally the present invention concerns the use of the antibody for the diagnostic detection of hepatitis G virus.

A method of producing a thermal transfer image recording sheet is also provided including the steps (a) bonding a surface of a substrate sheet to a plastic film through a layer of a polymeric binder having a glass transition temperature of 50.degree. Abstract: The present invention is directed to an isolated polynucleotide for novel G-Protein Coupled Receptors. More particularly, the present invention provides an isolated polynucleotide comprising the nucleic acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1 or nucleic acid sequences that hybridize to SEQ ID NO: 1 or its complimentary strand having at least 40% sequence identity. Preferably, the hybridizing nucleic acid sequence should hybridize under stringent conditions and in particular have 85% sequence identity, more preferably 90% sequence identity, and most preferably 95% sequence identity.
