  • Patent number: 6027886
Abstract: Method and kit for the quantitative detection of specific oligonucleotide or polynucleotide sequences which is characterized in that a sample mixture containing RNA or single-stranded DNA is hybridized with an oligonucleotide or polynucleotide probe(s) which are complementary to the nucleotide sequence to be determined and carry(ies) a specificplly bindable and a detectable chemical group subsequently it is admixed with an agent that cleaves single-stranded polynucleotide sequences and the immobilized or non-immobilized nucleotide probe is determined after transfer into a suitable reaction vessel. It has proven to be particularly advantageous when a mixture is used which is composed of different cleaving reagents.

  • Patent number: 6026708
Abstract: A flange portion formed on an inner periphery of a flywheel is fitted to an end of a crankshaft. A spline piece is fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the flywheel. The flange portion of the flywheel and a flange portion of the spline piece are commonly fastened to the end of the crankshaft by bolts. An upper end of a driving shaft is spline-fitted at a point into a driving shaft coupled portion of the spline piece which is accommodated in an internal hole in the crankshaft. Thus, in coaxially coupling the flywheel and the driving shaft to the end of the crankshaft, it is possible to make such a coupled area compact and to reduce vibration by an accurate centering thereof.

  • Patent number: 6027587
Abstract: Steel with ultrafine grains is produced by altering the transformation from one which normally proceeds with grain boundary nucleation followed by intragranular nucleation at deformation bands and other defects, to one which induces a substantially instantaneous transformation homogeneously over the austenite grain. This is favoured by a reduction or minimisation of grain boundary nucleation, (for example by enlargement of the austenite grain size), prior to or during the transformation. In an embodiment, a partially cooled austenite phase steel is deformed in a single pass at a temperature in the range of 700-950.degree. C. to obtain ferrite grain size of 5 .mu.m or less.

  • Patent number: 6027425
Abstract: A system for controlling motive force of a vehicle having an engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission connected to the engine to transmit engine torque to a drive shaft of the vehicle. In the system, a desired motive force is calculated or determined from the detected accelerator (pedal) position and vehicle speed, and based on the determined motive force a desired engine speed, more specifically a drive shaft speed of the transmission, is calculated or determined. Then inertia torque acting on the vehicle is calculated or determined based on at least the determined speed and detected speed, and a desired throttle opening is corrected by the determined inertia torque when the vehicle accelerates or decelerates. With the arrangement, the vehicle response delay due to the inertia torque is adjusted and hence, drivability and fuel economy performance are enhanced.

Abstract: Switching transistors 20, 22, 22P, 21, 23 and 23P and a portion of control circuit for transistors 20 and 21 constitutes a bit line reset circuit on memory cell side. In reading `H` from the memory cell connected to a bit line BLC or *BLC, the both bit lines are set at a higher reset potential Vii, while in reading `L`, the both bit lines are reset at a lower reset potential Vss. Transfer gates 10 and 11 are turned off before sufficient amplification of a potential difference between the bit lines BL and *BL. The operation of restoring into a memory cell read destructively from is performed in parallel with the operation of bit line reset.

  • Patent number: 6026498
Abstract: A clock signal generator circuit has a clock generator for generating clock signals to be supplied to a central processing unit and to functional blocks, and clock selectors. The clock generator divides the frequency of a source clock signal, to form a clock signal having an optional period. Namely, the clock generator suppresses at least one active or inactive state of the source clock signal, to generate a clock signal whose period is an integer multiple of that of the source clock signal. The clock selectors receive the clock signals generated by the clock generator and selectively supply them to the CPU and functional blocks. The clock signal generator circuit is capable of operating a microcontroller system at a required minimum speed, to optimize the power consumption of the system.

  • Patent number: 6024861
Abstract: In an electrically corrosion-proofing process in which the polarity of a metal member having a coating film is set at negative, the duration of setting the polarity of the metal member immersed in an aqueous solution of NaCl at negative is made discontinuous, and a positive-set duration in which the polarity of the metal member is set at positive, is interposed between a proceeding negative-set duration and a succeeding negative-set duration. The switching-over of the polarity is carried out by a polarity switch-over relay between the metal member and a DC power source. In the negative-set duration, the treatment for corrosion-proofing of the metal member is carried out, but the peeling-off of the coating film from a starting point provided by a damaged portion is produced. In the positive-set duration, an electrolytic product is produced in an exposed portion of the metal member, and the peeling-off of the coating film in the next negative-set duration is prevented by the electrolytic product.
