Abstract: A bite block for an endotrachial tube includes a hollow body extending between open ends to receive an endotrachial tube such that opposing ends of the tube protrude through the open ends of the bite block. The bite block includes a tether to retain the bite block to the tube to prevent unwanted separation or movement of the tube within the bite block. The tether consists of a flexible arm which protrudes rearwardly from the bite block towards the inlet end of the tube and terminates in a ring configured to encircle the endotrachial tube, thereby effectively tethering the bite block to the tube. The arm and ring are configured such that the arm flexes in an arc when tethering the tube, thereby permitting the ring to engage the tube when fitted to thereto.

Abstract: A dual socket connector has an insulative housing assembly, multiple first terminals, multiple second terminals, multiple third terminals and a shell. The insulative housing assembly has a top tongue, a bottom tongue and a partition formed between the top and bottom tongues. The first terminals are mounted on one of the top and bottom tongues for USB 2.0 signal transmission. The second and third terminals are mounted on the other tongue for USB 3.0 signal transmission. The shell covers the insulative housing assembly and defines upper and lower socket holes with the partition for engaging different plug connectors. The dual socket connector is compact and has high compatibility.
Abstract: A combination internal combustion and steam engine includes a cylinder having a piston mounted for reciprocation therein with an internal combustion chamber and a steam chamber in the cylinder adjacent the piston and at least one steam exhaust port positioned to communicate with the steam chamber through the wall of the cylinder for exhausting steam at a location in the cylinder wall adjacent to an engine cylinder cap surface that is heated externally to assist in reducing chilling or condensation of steam entering the steam chamber from a boiler fired by waste combustion heat. The invention also permits steam admitted from a steam chest jacketing the cylinder cap to be exhausted from the engine when the steam chamber is in an expanded state whereupon residual steam is then recompressed prior to admitting the next charge of steam with the stream in the steam chamber being heated directly by the combustion chamber as well as by heat from the steam chest. An I.C. exhaust powered heater is a part of an I.C.

Abstract: A wireless-controlled power-saving apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus particularly includes a power-saving control strip and a wireless power-detection controller. The power-saving control strip has a master socket and at least one slave socket to be controlled. The strip further includes a receptacle for containing the wireless power-detection controller. More, the wireless power-detection controller connects to an external host for detecting the performance thereof. When the external host boots up, the wireless power-detection controller controls the slave socket to be powered. Or otherwise, when the external host shuts down, the wireless power-detection controller controls the slave socket to be disconnected. Thus the invention achieves the sockets mounted on the power-saving control strip to function a wireless master-slave-correlation operation.
Abstract: A container is provided for holding a chemical compound or mixture. Areas are provided on the surface of the container which allow for gaseous by-products from the chemical contained within the container to permeate from a chamber through the surface of the container. A septum is over-molded into the surface of the container. The septum is formed in such a manner that it provides a sealing effect to close an opening in the container.
Abstract: Compositions of cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) are disclosed that are generally in the form of an elastic, hydrophilic, water-insoluble viscous cohesive mass of material that has many important medical uses including uses as a filler for implants. The present invention also involves a process for producing such compositions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a nonvolatile memory apparatus and a method of using a thin film transistor (TFT) as a nonvolatile memory by storing carriers in a body of the TFT, which operates a general TFT as a memory cell of a nonvolatile memory by manipulating the electrical characteristics of the TFT in order to integrate with other electrical components formed by TFTs, such as logic circuit or TFT-LCD pixel transistor, on the LCD panel without additional semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Abstract: A flat panel display (FPD) support has a panel bracket attached to an FPD and a supporting assembly attached to and supporting the panel bracket and the FPD. The supporting assembly comprises a pivoting leg, an adjustment bracket, a stationary bracket and a lock. The adjustment bracket is pivotally and slidably connected to the pivoting leg. The lock selectively engages the adjustment bracket. The stationary bracket holds the lock to prevent the lock from sliding relative to the panel bracket. Therefore, a visual angle of the FPD relative to a plane can be easily adjusted by the supporting assembly and held by the lock. The FPD with the FPD support is light, simple and portable and can be conveniently packaged for sale or transportation and does not occupy a large area when in use.

Abstract: A multistage lock apparatus has a base, a disk holder, two selecting devices, two disk sets and at least one interfering element. The base has a mounting panel and a central tube. The disk holder is connected to the base and has a mounting beam, two extending beams, a middle beam, a connecting beam and two mounting spaces. The selecting devices are rotatably connected to the base. The disk sets are respectively mounted on the selecting devices in the mounting specs of the disk holder and each disk set has a driving disk and at least one driven disk. The at least one interfering element is mounted securely on the disk holder and each of the at least one interfering element has a mounting tab and two elastic panels.

Abstract: An LED light string includes series-connected groups of individual LEDs or sets of LEDs, with each LED or set of LEDs in each group being electrically in parallel with each other LED or set of LEDs and with a parallel group device that regulates voltage within the group when LEDs in that group fail. The current to the LEDs is rectified, either in the light string plug or receptacle, preferably the latter. The color of each light in the group, or colors of each set in the group must be the same but successive groups can include LEDs of different colors. In an alternative embodiment, the LEDs can be oriented so that half light on during the first half of an alternating current cycle and the other half light during the second half of an alternating current cycle.
Abstract: A sliding padlock has a shell, a locking assembly, a shackle and a resilient element. The locking assembly is mounted in the shell and has a lock cylinder and a lock rod. The shackle is mounted in a locking end of the shell, is selectively blocked by the lock rod and abuts the resilient element. Because of the resilient element, the shackle is held to abut the shell without external force even when the lock cylinder is unlocked. Therefore, the sliding padlock still holds an object in position when unlocked so a user may take the object easily without using a key.
Abstract: A reinforced connector for supporting a tubular grab railing has an upper tubing support that is aligned with the grab railing during use and a lower base portion which is attached to the tubing support, and is fastened a wall or floor as a pedestal for the tubing support. The tubing support has an opening extending longitudinally thereof that divides it into upper and lower halves with the reinforcing plate held between them. The halves of the tubing support are aligned with one another to form at least one boss that is constructed and arranged to engage and support one end of a section of the grab railing tubing. The connector assembly which supports a section of grab railing is formed from dissimilar structural materials including an outer plastic resinous connector element and a reinforcing plate. The reinforcing plate extends through the support to provide reinforcement for the tubing support including each boss and the tubing itself.
