Abstract: Restaurant guest check or the like, comprising perforations which divide the check into at least three (3) portions. The first portion is for listing items purchased in a first category, such as food, the second portion is for listing items purchased in a second category, such as alcoholic beverages, and the third and smallest portion is for indicating the total price of all items purchased. Also disclosed is a tractor feed sheet comprising tractor feed strips along either side and a plurality of transversely extending weakened portions which divide the sheet into individual blank checks as above described. A patron's printed guest check is generated by computer. Food items are printed in the first portion, alcoholic beverage items in the second portion and the total price in the third portion.

Abstract: A device for selecting lottery numbers is described, including a folio kit in which the device is mounted and stored, together with other lottery wagering paraphernalia and related items. The device comprises a base on which concentric circles of numbers are displayed, together with a rotatable disc perforated with windows, the base and disc being fastened together at their respective centers. Windows on the base are covered with a transparent film on which various designs are imprinted in a variety of colors. Numbers are obtained by rotating the disc to a chosen reference point on the base, selecting a particular design and color, and observing the numbers displayed in the windows, and within the design color decided upon.

Abstract: A manually operated coil vending machine device is described which has a rod tipped with a pressure sensitive adhesive movable along a slot in the device to a storage bin area where articles for sale are stored and displayed. Once in the bin area, the rod is lowered until it sticks to the article selected, after which the rod is raised and moved back along the slot until it reaches an area accessible to the operator-purchaser. At such point, the purchased article is grasped and removed. The device can only be operated after predetermined coins equal to the purchase price of the articles have been inserted in the device, thereby permitting removal of a rod blocking first projection over the slot by pressure of the rod as it moves along the slot to the storage bin area.

Abstract: A continuous case packer for receiving an ongoing stream of cases and containers and causing the containers to be deposited into the cases. The cases are fed on a conveyor assembly comprising an in-feed section, a staging section, and an out-feed section. The staging section and out-feed section are mechanically linked by sprocketing and each includes lugs for positively driving the cases received therein. The lugs are timed for continuous operation of receipt of cases from the staging area, filling of the cases, and removal of the cases from the case out-feed section. The case in-feed section includes a unique case stop and brake mechanism allowing for rapid movement of the incoming cases while providing for separation of the lead case to be fed to the staging section.

Abstract: A variable-volume turbocharger device comprises at least two exhaust gas passages (A), (B) different in the flow characteristics, divided by a partition wall (20) provided in a turbine housing (18), and two valve members (34a), (34b) which are actuated so as to open and shut the exhaust gas passages (A), (B). The valve members (34a), (34b) each are actuated to open and shut in response to the speed and load of an engine or the likes, whereby either one of the exhaust gas passages (A), (B) or both of them are opened to provide at least three turbine flow characteristics. An exhaust gas turbine (12) can be thereby operated with remarkably good efficiency suitably to the operating state of the engine.

Abstract: An insect killing system is disclosed which comprises a circulation chamber within which steam is allowed to flow and circulate and a differential insect killing cell which forces the steam within the circulation chamber to flow therethrough. In this insect killing system, by guiding the steam in the circulation chamber maintained at a preselected temperature and humidity into the differential insect killing cell, the product temperature or fruit core temperature of raw fruit can be maintained at a desired level so as to kill out the maggots and eggs of insect pests such as orange flies and melon flies attaching to the raw fruit contained within the differential insect killing cell.

Abstract: Balloon holder for toy balloons. The balloon holder of the invention has a cup and a stem. The latter for insertion into one end of a hollow balloon stick. The stem is of such shape that the neck of the balloon is completely concealed between the stem and the balloon stick. The preferred stem is generally cylindrical with an interior channel and an exterior cutaway portion for downwardly extending an upwardly extending portions, respectively of the neck. A vertical slit in the cup permits rapid insertion of a balloon neck into the balloon holder.

Abstract: A tension spring takeout device for use in an automatic tension spring mounting apparatus for automatically mounting tension springs for mounting a pad receive member to a seat frame forming an automotive seat. The tension spring takeout device comprises a stock mechanism into which the tension springs are discharged from a part feeder having a separation mechanism for separation of the tension springs that are successively supplied, and which are arranged in a line and stocked; a takeout mechanism comprising a predetermined number of takeout means located in the stock mechanism so as to correspond to the mounting intervals of the tension springs to the seat frame and operable to push out a predetermined number of tension springs simultaneously; and a transfer device adapted to catch the tension springs pushed out by the takeout means of the takeout mechanism as well as to transfer and mount the tension springs to the mounting portions of the seat frame.

Abstract: An enhancement to a typical four-function calculator. With this enhanced calculator, lottery players may generate psuedo-random integer combinations for their use in selecting numbers on which to place their bets. The enhanced calculator allows users to select the type of lottery game for which the number combinations will be generated by specifying the quantity of numbers generated and the bounds of the range within which the numbers will be generated through two key strokes of dedicated keys. The first key stroke utilizes a key designated by the particular lottery game. The second key stroke utilizes a key designated by a popular range of numbers used by the various lotteries. This invention relieves the user from having to rely on his limited supply of "magical" dates, ages, social security numbers and so forth.

Abstract: A spreading disc brake is actuated for parking or braking in an emergency by a brake-applying mechanism which comprises a pivotally mounted lever in the form of a bell-crank, and a pull-rod coupled to the lever. The inner end of the pull-rod is provided with an eye of which the inner side of the outermost end has a rocking and sliding engagement with a complementary arcuate face defining a notch in the innermost edge of the longer arm of the lever. The coupling between the pull-rod and the lever enables the pull-rod to adopt a substantially radial alignment with the brake center of rotation, even when brake lining wear progressively increases the brake forward to reverse articulation. The lever is pivotally mounted on one of the pressure plates by a pivot pin, and has a cranked nose which is received within the groove in the other pressure plate.

Abstract: A quick coupler for front end loader implements having a male master pivotally connected by pins to the upper and lower extendable arms of a front end loader and a female coupler attached to any of a variety of buckets, plows, scoops, forks, or other implements. The female member consists of a pair of upper hooks and lower protruding eyes engageable by the male member having a pair of upper bridge pins and lower, channeled slots. Upper engagement is made between bridge pins and hooks and lower engagement by insertion of the protruding eyes into the slotted channels. Coupling is secured or released by extension or retraction of hydraulically or manually actuated pins through the slotted holes and protruding eyes.

Abstract: A package is designed for a container having a raised bead ring on a top end and a dispensing valve within and protruding up from the ring; a cover cap for the dispensing valve and the bead ring. The package includes a support body made of cardboard foldable to make two layer structures having a pair of expand faces, a flat section and a support flange. The two layers of support flange contacts each other and is secured together. The support body and support flange have an aperture to receive the top end of the container.

Abstract: A portable food holding device is described comprising a table section with foldable legs and a cover attached thereto, adapted to maintain contained food in either a chilled or heated condition. When not in use the legs and cover may be folded to a collapsed position to form a compact unit which may be readily transported or stored. Means are disclosed for heating or cooling the contents of the device.

Abstract: A self-energizing disc brake is disclosed. The brake is applied by moving a pair of pressure plates angularly to cause them to separate and clamp friction discs between themselves and braking faces at opposite ends of a housing. The angular movement of the plates is initiated by a brake-applying mechanism comprising a pair of links of different lengths, which are pivotally connected at their outer ends to respective lugs on the pressure plates, and a pull-rod which is connected to the inner ends of the links through a common pivot and is radially displaceable. This facilitates installations of the brake within asymmetrically arranged housings.

Abstract: A seal splice or tape comprising a carrier having an adhesive construction on the opposite side thereof. The adhesive construction comprises an adhesive coating on the carrier layer with a release agent and liner thereover. The adhesive coat extending from end to end on one side and only part way inboard on the opposite side. In a preferred embodiment, the carrier is scored near the end having adhesive on both ends to permit both layers of the liner to be removed essentially simultaneously or otherwise.

Abstract: A multiple dose, single barrel syringe has a barrel comprising a plurality of telescoping sections of progressively decreasing diameter. A puncturable fluid tight membrane extending across the forward end of each barrel section except the first divides the interior of the barrel into a plurality of separate fluid receiving chambers, each of which may contain a different fluid medication. A plunger is slidably mounted in the last barrel section and extends exteriorly therefrom. At the forward end of the syringe is a hollow needle, which extends through a needle-receiving tubular conduit at the forward end of the first barrel section so that the needle is disposed partly inside and partly outside the barrel. Both ends of the needle are sharply pointed. The inner end of the needle punctures the membranes so that, as each chamber in the barrel is emptied, the next chamber is placed in communication with the needle.

Abstract: An apparatus for turning up and down a spectator's seats includes a foot member which is turnably supported within a base frame fixedly mounted on the movable platform. A pair of Y-shaped lock links are supported turnable about a support shaft which extends throught the fore end thereof. The upper portions of the lock links rotatably support a locking and unlocking roller therebetween and this roller serves as a weight. On the other hand, the lower portions of the lock links are formed with a hook respectively. A locking angle is fixedly secured to both the side walls of the base frame at the position located behind foot member in such a manner that the hooks are engaged to the locking angle to firmly hold the foot member in the upright standing posture when the roller is lowered by turning movement. Engagement of the hooks to the locking angle can be released by abutment of the roller against the front nose on the upper movable platform during backward movement of the first-mentioned movable platform.

Abstract: A recreational and therapeutic propelled pontoon chair. The invention fundamentally comprises a pair of pontoons in fixed spaced relationship with each other. A chair for maintaining a user is positioned between the pontoons with a drive and power source being maintained behind the chair. The chair is adjustable in elevation and includes an adjustable leg rest. Control cables on an arm rest regulate speed and direction. In another embodiment, such cables are attached to a headband.

Abstract: A mounting bracket, especially suitable for supporting a green tire holder, comprises, in series, a fixed bracket secured to a tire mold press, a hollow rectangular housing, and an adjustable arm for supporting a green tire holder on a vertical shaft. The adjustable arm is axially movable, and is also horizontally, vertically, and rotatably adjustable with respect to the hollow housing, so that the shaft can be precisely positioned with respect to the axis of the tire mold. The hollow rectangular housing is secured to the fixed bracket by means of a pivot screw and a removable pin. The housing is fixedly secured to the fixed bracket when the removable pin is in place, and is capable of being swung, so as to permit access to the tire mold, when the pin is removed.
