  • Patent number: 5207376
Abstract: The invention relates to a container which is folded from a flat blank of material being provided with a plurality of fold lines. The side walls are coupled to one another by bellows-type coupling members which are adapted to be inwardly folded during assembly to draw up the adjacent side walls to which they are attached. The top walls are dimensioned such that upon folding into substantially parallel relationship with the bottom wall it will form a closed container which is especially suitable to be used as a gift box. A portion of the bellows-type coupling member may be non-structurally adhered to a side wall of the container acting to greatly enhance subsequent folding and assembling of the container into its finished form. Predetermined fold lines may be pre-folded to allow more convenient assembly and still allow shipping in the flat form if desired.

  • Patent number: 5203388
Abstract: An improved stump cutting apparatus and particularly a two-wheel trailer type of stump cutting apparatus employing a hydraulic motor, to, through a drive belt connection, drive a cutting wheel, the hydraulic motor being powered by a hydraulic pump directly mounted on a diesel engine strategically located on a cutting wheel boom, giving the unique benefit of thereby increasing cutting stability due to the presence of the substantial mass of the diesel engine and its centrally-balanced orientation. The cutter boom sweeps side-to-side relative to the hinge head to which it is attached, and the same hinge head provides up and down motion of the cutter boom by owning a pivot located at its bottom end, whose pin unites the same member with the apparatus frame. The present invention operates in combination with a chip-retaining deck that remains elevationally stationary relative to its transporting wheels throughout the entire stump cutting operation.

  • Patent number: 5203283
Abstract: A gastric resident object having elastic stimulus members, which is admitted into the rumen, functions as a substitute for roughage and stimulates the mucous membrane and the wall of the rumen, so that the rumen can be maintained healthily and appropriately. Thus, it is possible to the use of roughage in quantity and decrease excretion, to thereby curtail the costs for dealing with the excretion and feeding for the ruminants.

  • Patent number: 5203652
Abstract: A tap and die wrench for threading flat and round workpieces and, formed of hardened steel or a softer material with hardened steel inserts at those points sustaining torque and tensile forces during operation, provides a body member adapted for receiving and retaining taps and a base adapted for receiving and holding round or hex dies, and the body member and base are mounted upon parallel alignment rods and held apart by a spring bias effected through springs mounted on each of the rods. A tap retained within the body member is tensioned away from the workpiece for simultaneous self-aligning during the tapping process. A die guide insertable into the centralized opening of the body member surrounds and guides the workpiece during the external threading process.

  • Patent number: 5201521
Abstract: A putting practice and game apparatus is disclosed, which is simple, cost effective device which may be portable and is easily constructed for use. The apparatus comprises an elongated playing surface which has at least one target hole positioned adjacent one end thereof, toward which golf balls or the like are putted. The playing surface is supported at one end thereof by a lift base which is positioned in spaced relation to the end of the playing surface. The lift base allows the playing surface to be pivoted upwardly about the lift base such that the end of the playing surface may be selectively raised. This action allows any balls on the playing surface or within any holes on the playing surface to be returned to the user positioned at the other end thereof. The playing surface may be adjusted to provide an unlimited number of variations in the shape of the playing surface presented for putting.

  • Patent number: 5201324
Abstract: A device that pierces the skin due to the collapsing of dome between the fingertips. Immediately after a puncture is made, a blood or exudate sample can be collected on an absorbent test strip laminated on the pressure plate. Flow enhancement of blood or exudate from the puncture site is achieved by maintenance of pressure around the site and on the imparting of a vacuum within the device. A shutter device incorporated into the skin perforator prevents repeated use of the device.

  • Patent number: 5201976
Abstract: A pressure sensitive adhesive label system collectible in a continuous roll form. A transparent release liner removed from the stock roll is collected and subsequently reapplied to the upper surface of the web as an overlaminate layer to provide rigidity and protect printed indicia of the face material. The process of manufacturing the label system produces a quality label product in roll form without die cutting and results in the recycling of the release liner while eliminating release liner and matrix waste.

  • Patent number: 5200773
Abstract: A diagnostic indirect ophthalmoscopy lens device utilized for illumination and observation of the fundus of the eye may include a plus powered aspheric contact element and at least one anterior lens element which may also have aspheric surfaces and/or positive refractive power. The lens elements in combination act to illuminate and form an inverted aerial image of the fundus of the eye. A erecting optical system may be provided to reinvert the image produced by the lenses of the device, which facilitates examining or surgical procedures. The device may be a hand held device to enable easy manipulation, or may be a non-hand held device which maintains its position on the eye to be examined. The device may further include a separate source of illuminating light which allows proper illumination of the eye while avoiding reflections or the like.

  • Patent number: 5197213
Abstract: A decorative framing border or enclosure device is described. The border or enclosure device contains transparent polymer or copolymer outer framing members positioned along the peripheral edges of a base framing member. The composition of the base framing member can be varied to be an acrylic resin, a polystyrene, a polycarbonate, a polyester resin, a non-crystalline polyolefin, and an unsaturated polyester resin copolymerized with styrene, a corkboard, a mirrored surface, a pegboard, etc. The transparent polymer or copolymer outer framing members are adapted to accommodate appearance-altering material therein. The border or enclosure device is so constructed as to permit the changing of a picture or mat which surrounds the picture without simultaneously affecting the appearance-altering material disposed within the outer framing members by isolating the two components to opposing surfaces of the base framing member. The decorative framing border or enclosure device is also described in a kit form.

  • Patent number: 5196206
Abstract: A tire mold having relatively reciprocable first and second mold halves is provided with a heat shield which includes first and second relatively reciprocable shield members. One of these shield members is fixedly secured to one of the mold halves; the other shield member is fixedly secured to the other mold half. The shield members are spaced from the mold halves so that they enclose a space which surrounds the mold halves. A vacuum tight seal between the shield members is provided. A nipple which is adapted to be connected to a source of vacuum extends through one of the shield members so that the space enclosed by the shield members can be placed under vacuum, thereby inhibiting heat transfer to the atmosphere surrounding the apparatus. Heat transfer is further inhibited by the thin reflective chrome plate layer on the inside wall surfaces of both heat shield members. Preferably the mold halves are arranged one above the other and each is secured to a platen.

  • Patent number: 5192587
Abstract: Comminuted wood is converted to a colored wood product useful as a mulch by feeding the comminuted wood into the lower end of an angularly upward positioned screw conveyor having an internal auger. The comminuted wood is contacted in a basin in the lower end of the conveyor by a liquid color-imparting agent, preferably an aqueous solution containing iron oxide pigment, carbon black pigment or a mixture of both pigments. After contacting, rotation of the auger draws the moist colored wood product towards the upper end, permitting runoff of excess liquid agent, which returns by gravity to the basin for further contacting with newly-fed comminuted wood. The liquid level in the basin is monitored and additional liquid agent is blended from water and pigment concentrate to maintain the level in the basin. Colored wood product discharges through a chute at the upper end of the conveyor for further drying, if necessary.
