Patent number: 4736691Abstract: A housing contains a plurality of vertically spaced shelves movable vertically relative to each other upon activation of a fluid pressure piston-cylinder unit mounted on the housing. Elongated suspension rods depend from the top shelf to support the next two adjacent shelves for relative vertical movement, and each subsequent lower shelf is similarly supported by a shelf above it but separated from it by one intervening shelf. The two top-most shelves also are arranged to be secured together detachably in abutting relationship. The lower end of each suspension rod mounts a rotary disc which supports a pair of upstanding spaced pins arranged in one position of rotary adjustment to abut the underside of a lug extending laterally from the adjacent shelf, and in a second position of rotary adjustment, 90.degree. from the first position, to register with openings in the lug, whereby the associated shelf is lowered from the first position of support a distance substantially equal to the length of the support pins.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1982Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignee: Hull CorporationInventor: John M. Patent number: 4727978Abstract: A reciprocating conveyor is formed of at least one group of at least three elongated slats of inverted U-shape spaced apart laterally for longitudinal reciprocation in such manner that all or a majority of slats move simultaneously in a load conveying direction and sequentially in the opposite, retracting direction. A seal member is secured to one side section of each slat and extends laterally therefrom to a position closely adjacent the facing side section of the adjacent slat. The fines of particulate material being conveyed as a load gravitate downward past the free side of the seal member and are deposited in a trough that underlies each pair of facing side sections of adjacent slats. As the adjacent slats move simultaneously in the load conveying direction, the corresponding pair of facing side sections move the fines in the trough in the same direction. This movement is enhanced by providing fines pusher members on the lower ends of the side sections of the slats.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1986Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Inventor: Olof A. Hallstrom, Jr.

Patent number: 4728871Abstract: A permanent magnet armature is arranged to be moved initially in spaced proximity to an induction coil connected in an electric circuit across the series arrangement of a source of electric potential and an electronic switch such that when the moving magnetic field of the magnet cuts the coil turns the resulting induced current operates the switch momentarily to connect the source of electric potential across the coil. The resulting current flow through the coil produces a magnetic field which is imposed upon the moving magnet such as to accelerate its movement. An RC time constant circuit is connected across the coil to establish the time period of battery connection across the coil.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1985Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Inventor: Roger W. Patent number: 4691819Abstract: A plurality of elongated slats are arranged side by side to form an elongated conveyor, and they are connected to three transverse drive beams in such manner as to form the slats into a plurality of groups of three slats each. Each drive beam is connected to a pair of fluid pressure drive cylinders disposed on opposite sides of the beam so that as one cylinder pushes the beam the other cylinder pulls it. Control valves communicates the cylinders selectively to a source of fluid pressure to reciprocate the slats in a manner to effect moving a load supported thereon in a predetermined direction. The plurality of slats thus form a reciprocating conveyor which moves a load in one direction at a predetermined speed.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1984Date of Patent: September 8, 1987Inventor: Olof A. Hallstrom, Jr.
