  • Patent number: 5844618
Abstract: An input telecine image is held by a field memory, and correlation values of respective images in a first field and a second field are calculated by correlation value calculation circuits. The correlation values are compared with a predetermined threshold value, and when the correlation value is smaller than the threshold value, a duplicated field is determined. Moreover, the correlation values of the first and second fields are compared in the correlation value comparison circuits, and the duplicated fields are determined. These information are held by a phase holding circuit. A phase pattern of a successive images converted by a 3:2 pulldown method is searched by a phase synchronization circuit on the basis of the information of phase obtained by the phase holding circuit. A control unit inversely converts automatically the telecine image including successive images converted by a method different from the 3:2 pulldown method to a film image.

  • Patent number: 5842021
Abstract: The definition and use information of a constant hold variable are caused to be stored in a constant hold variable information hold unit 6 by a constant hold variable definition detection unit 7 and a use expression detection unit 8. A partial constant expression rewrite unit 9 rewrites to a constant a constant hold variable which, when a variable is rewritten to a constant, allows an expression containing the variable to be convoluted into a constant. A cost judgement and rewrite unit 10 judges by a cost whether the variable is to be used with loading it in a register or constant propagation is to be conducted, and, if constant propagation is to be conducted, rewrites the variable with a constant. A resource allocation unit 11 allocates the variable to a resource. A memory variable rewrite unit 12 rewrites a constant hold variable allocated to a memory to a constant value. A constant hold variable definition removal unit 13 removes the definition of a constant hold variable which becomes unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 5836278
Abstract: The invention relates in particular to a camshaft setting mechanism according to the vane cell principle, which has a drive gear (1) joined with the crankshaft through a toothed belt or a control chain. The drive gear includes a hollow space (8), and an impeller (11) is installed in the hollow space (8). The impeller is fixedly connected to and rotates with the camshaft (14). The drive gear (1) has at least one working chamber (4) on the interior of its circumferential wall (2), and each vane (12) of the impeller (11) subdivides the working chambers (4) into two pressure areas (9, 10) in each case. To avoid leakage through the slits (13) between impeller (11) and the drive gear (1) at high oil temperatures, the impeller (11) is made of a material which has a higher thermal expansion coefficient than the material of the drive gear (1), and that the pressure areas (9, 10) in the hollow space (7) of the drive gear (1) are sealed off by thermal expansion of the impeller (11) when the motor is in operation.

  • Patent number: 5839021
Abstract: The developing unit of an electrostatic printer is designed to avoid under-development of the bottom part of a dark latent image due to a reduction in recycled toner. This can be accomplished by providing the developing unit with one developing roller and at least two supply rollers. Alternatively, the developing unit has just one supply roller, but the rate at which toner is transferred from the supply roller to the developing roller can be switched. As another alternative, the supply roller and developing roller are designed to turn slowly enough that development of an entire page is completely developed before reaching the point where under-development would begin.
