Abstract: A comparison voltage which is stepwise changed by control of a microcomputer through photocouplers is compared with a voltage of a direct-current power supply, and a signal of comparison result is given to the microcomputer through a photocoupler. The voltage of the direct-current power supply is detected on the basis of the comparison voltage when the signal of the comparison result changes.

Abstract: A coil assembly for use in a heat exchanger having air flowing in a predetermined direction. The coil assembly comprises a plurality of parallel linear tubes, a plurality of return tubes interconnecting the linear tubes, and a plurality of fins. Each linear tube has a central portion with an elliptical cross-section and two end portions with round female sockets having circular cross-sections. Each return tube has two end portions with circular cross-sections. Each end portion of a return tube fits into a round female socket of a linear tube regardless of the orientation of the major axes of the linear tubes. The major axis of the elliptical cross-section resides at an oblique angle with respect to the direction of air flow. Each fin comprises a planar sheet of a heat-conductive material with a plurality of holes. The central portion of a linear tube extends through each hole. Each fin securely contacts each linear tube extending therethrough such that heat transfer therebetween is enhanced.

Under the tank is located an air-blast gas burner and low pressure (from about 100 Pa) plenum blower. The burner nozzle is entered into the flue pipe through the bottom opening with a tangential direction to inside surface of the flue pipe and aslant up from horizontal to about 45.degree.. On the flue pipe top is located a venting tangential outlet.
Abstract: A method for forming a stainless steel sink bowl having a top edge, a sidewall and a bottom surface interconnected by smooth corner surfaces from a single sheet is provided. The method comprises drawing a stainless steel blank between a first draw die and a first forming die to form a first drawn blank having an unfinished bowl with a length, width and depth which are less than the finished length and width and generating a deformation warmth in the blank at the corner surfaces in proximity to the rim as the first drawn blank is being formed to a temperature of approximately 70.degree. C. to 90.degree. C. The first drawn blank is immediately removed from the first draw die and the first forming die and transferred to a finish draw die.
Abstract: A process for the polymerization of olefinic hydrocarbons is carried out in the presence of a catalyst comprising a catalyst component derived from reacting a compound of the formula Me.sup.1 R.sup.1.sub.n X.sup.1.sub.4-n, a compound of the formula Me.sup.2 R.sup.2.sub.m X.sup.2.sub.z-m, an organocyclic compound having two or more conjugated double bonds and a carrier of inorganic or polymeric material, and a modified organoaluminum compound having Al--O--Al bonds, the resulting polyolefins having a relatively wide molecular weight distribution, a relatively narrow composition distribution and increased bulk density.
Abstract: A method is provided for reducing particle formation during manufacture of shell caps for containers such as pharmaceutical containers. The method entails providing a solid polymeric coating on substantially all surfaces of the shell caps to form coated shell caps before permitting the coated shell caps to contact each other or other objects. A pharmaceutical container which employs the shell caps also is provided. The container comprises a vial for storing medicinal compositions therein and a shell cap for sealing the vial. The shell cap includes a hollow metallic preform and a solid polymeric coating which substantially completely encapsulates the preform.

Abstract: A device for extinguishing a fire in an electrostatic coating facility has at least one coating nozzle associated with high voltage, the nozzle being connectable with an extinguishing agent reservoir via a conduit. With previously known extinguishing agents, the problem emerges in connection with the aforementioned coating facilities, that a longer lasting cleaning process follows even after only a short extinguishing process. In order to avoid this problem, desalinated water is used as the extinguishing agent in the extinguishing agent reservoir.

Abstract: Air driven dental handpiece motors include a tubular housing and a rotor rotatably supported within the housing. One motor is geared down by the provision of a plurality of idler gears rotatably supported on a hub which rotates between a sun gear on the output end of the rotor and a ring gear fixed within the housing. A drive shaft connects an exposed drive gear with the hub. A bearing is provided between the drive shaft and the inner bore of skirt extending from the ring gear to reduce a number of tolerances built up between the drive shaft and the bearing. The motor further includes a valve member rotatable through about 140.degree. of arc to vary maximum motor speed and motor rotation direction. The valve member abuts a valve plate having a circular air inlet opening and a semicircular air outlet or exhaust opening. The valve member has an air supply opening which is an elongated arcuate slot having radiused circumferential ends.
Abstract: A method and system for analyzing an electrogastrophic (EGG) signal are disclosed. Electrodes are positioned on abdominal skin of a subject adjacent a stomach thereof. The electrodes obtain the EGG signal produced by the stomach. An amplifier is connected to the electrodes, receives the obtained EGG signals, and amplifies the obtained EGG signal. A transforming device is operatively connected to the amplifier. The transforming device receives the amplified EGG signal and transforms the amplified EGG signal from a time domain representation to a frequency domain representation. The transformation is accomplished by way of a predetermined transform function incorporating a variable frequency and a window function. The window function has a time resolution and a frequency resolution. The frequency resolution of the window function is proportional to the frequency.

Abstract: Briefly stated, the present invention comprises a seal joint for a propeller shaft passing through a boat hull. The seal includes a bronze support bushing that is fitted over the propeller shaft, first elastic rings cooperating with the support bushing, an elastic bellows surrounding the shaft downstream of the support bushing, and a lubricating oil circulation system. The lubricating oil circulation system comprises two stages that cooperate to establish water tightness, a first ring-shaped water retention chamber filled with a viscous insoluble sealing medium, and a second chamber filled with lubricating oil. Forced, closed-circuit, circulation of the lubricating oil is produced during rotation of the propeller shaft within the support bushing, inside a static eccentric chamber formed within the support bushing, the support bushing being loosely fit onto the propeller shaft with no rigid fixing so that the propelled shaft is rotatable and axially moveable.
