    Abstract: A communication (comm) apparatus coupled to a telephone (tel) line comprises a base having a tel portion, a fax portion including a fax modem, a first switch for switching the mode between fax and tel, and a first wireless comm portion, and at least a cordless unit having a second wireless comm portion for communicating with the base, and a second fax portion including a recording/reading portion. The cordless unit may further comprise a second tel portion and a second switch for switching the mode between fax and tel wherein the base can change the second switch to the other mode if necessary. A cordless phone may be further provided. In response to a fax call, the base holds the line but the cordless unit does the fax procedure and if there is no response from the cordless unit within a given interval, the line is disconnected wherein each of cordless unit responds with a different delay time to have a priority. During facsimile comm, an erroneous on-hook is neglected.

The push-rod is slidable within the bore to actuate a latch device of the energy storage system, which in turn releases a blade which is cooperable with a trip bar of the circuit breaker on which the auxiliary trip device is placed. An optical density of the black matrix substrate is not less than 1.5. A color filter, which has a high contrast ratio, can be constructed by use of this black matrix substrate. Further, a liquid crystal display device, which has a good image quality, can be constructed by use of this color filter.

    Abstract: A driving control apparatus consists of a battery for storing electric energy supplied to a motor-driven compressor and a drive motor, a direct current detector for detecting a direct current supplied from the battery to the compressor, a direct current voltage detector for detecting a d.c. voltage applied by the battery, a controller for calculating an electric power consumed by the motor-driven compressor, determining an upper limit of the electric power in dependence on the d.c. voltage, judging whether or not the electric power is larger than the upper limit, and controlling the compressor to reduce the electric power in cases where the electric power is larger than the upper limit. Because the upper limit of the electric power is determined in dependence on the d.c. voltage and because the electric power becomes necessarily lower than the upper limit, an electric tar is not stalled by the exhaustion of the electric power in the battery before a driver arrives at his destination.
