  • Patent number: 7253080
Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor-on-insulator semiconductor substrate is disclosed that includes providing first and second semiconductor substrates. Either oxygen or nitrogen is introduced into a region adjacent the surface of the first semiconductor substrate and a rare earth and hydrogen are implanted at different energy levels into the second semiconductor substrate to produce a rare earth rich region adjacent the surface and a hydrogen layer spaced from the surface. The surface of the first semiconductor substrate is bonded to the surface of the second semiconductor substrate in a process that includes annealing to react either the oxygen or the nitrogen with the rare earth to form an interfacial insulating layer of either rare earth oxide or rare earth nitride. During the anneal the hydrogen layer is blistered and a portion of the second semiconductor substrate is removed and the surface polished to form a thin crystalline active layer on the interfacial insulating layer.

  • Patent number: 7238533
Abstract: Personal illicit drug detecting apparatus is disclosed which includes a substance chemically reactive to a suspected drug. The substance is provided in the form of a layer positioned on at least one finger of a user. The substance can be blended into finger nail polish and positioned on at least one nail by painting or positioned anywhere on a finger in the form of a decal. To test a suspected beverage the user inconspicuously moistens the substance on the finger or finger nail with liquid from a beverage and observes any change (e.g. color, image, etc.) of the layer on the finger nail or finger nail, wherein the change indicates the presence of the suspected drug in the beverage.

  • Patent number: 7234996
Abstract: A brassiere has two breast-receiving cups each having an inner breast-receiving surface and an opposing outer surface. A pocket component is affixed to the outer surface of one of the breast-receiving cups. The pocket component opposes a portion of the outer surface of the one of the breast-receiving cups. The pocket component and the portion of the outer surface of the one of the breast-receiving cups forms a storage space having a first shape and an opening into the storage space. A substrate, having a second shape, is disposed in the storage space and is capable of accepting writing applied thereto by a writing instrument, in which the substrate is removable from the storage space through the opening. The second shape of the substrate conforms substantially to the first shape of the storage space.

  • Patent number: 7232285
Abstract: A vehicle loader mechanism mountable on a vehicle having a cargo deck for lifting loads onto the cargo deck is disclosed. The vehicle loader mechanism includes a base mountable on the cargo deck of the vehicle and a lift mechanism movable between a lowered position and a raised position. A drive linkage is coupled between the base and the lift mechanism and movable between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration for lateral movement of the lift mechanism. A leveling linkage is coupled between the base and the lift mechanism for movement with the drive linkage and to prevent tilting of the lift mechanism during movement of the drive linkage between the extended configuration and the retracted configuration. A cylinder is coupled to the drive linkage for moving the drive linkage between the extended configuration and the retracted configuration.

  • Patent number: 7217636
Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor-on-insulator semiconductor wafer is described that includes providing first and second semiconductor substrates. A first insulating layer is formed on the first substrate with a first predetermined stress and a second insulating layer is formed on the second substrate with a second predetermined stress different than the first predetermined stress. The first insulating layer is bonded to the second insulating layer to form a composite insulating layer bonding the first substrate to the second substrate and a portion of the one substrate is removed to form a thin crystalline active layer on the composite insulating layer. The first and second insulating layers are formed with different stresses to provide a desired composite stress, which can be any stress from compressive to unstressed to tensile, depending upon the desired application.
