  • Patent number: 7075303
Abstract: A nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) sample tube is made of a polymeric material instead of glass. Such tubes are thinner than glass tubes, thus increasing the internal volume and sample size. Such tubes are also more closely matched to the magnetic susceptibility of specific solvents. Such tubes have greater mechanical stability, thus leading to less tube breakage during NMR processing. Such tubes also lend themselves to various concentric tubal arrangements which permit separation and mixing of samples to minimize subtraction artifacts in interacting systems.

  • Patent number: 7021965
Abstract: A compression connector for a coaxial cable includes a unitary plastic body with a post connected inside the plastic body and a nut connected to the post. An O-ring seals the connection between the nut and the plastic body. A compression ring is connected to an outside of the plastic body. A reinforcing shield is also connected to the outside of the plastic body. The reinforcing shield serves to reinforce the plastic body when the compression ring is moved to its compressed position, so that softer plastics can be used for the plastic body. The reinforcing shield and compression ring also protect the entire outside of the plastic body from the environment.

  • Patent number: 7023298
Abstract: An electrical filter disconnects a connecting pin when uninstalled. A first filter section includes a first set of electrical filter components, while a second filter section includes a second set of electrical filter components, with the connecting pin connecting the two filter sections. An electrical isolation shield disposed between the first and second filter sections includes a first plate and a second plate which are rotatable with respect to each other, wherein the first plate includes a first cutout portion and the second plate includes a second cutout portion. The first plate is locked to the first filter section while the second plate is locked to the second filter section. When the electrical filter is unscrewed from the port, the first filter section rotates with respect to the second filter section such that the connecting pin breaks electrical connection between the first filter section and the second filter section.
