Abstract: A coffee grinder with a coffee bean container 9 divided into at least two compartments 13, 14, with a bottom-side output shaft 20 common to both compartments 13, 14. The coffee bean container has a grinding mill 10 disposed beneath the output shaft 20 and a closure element 22 for the optional closing of the output 17, 18 of the compartment(s) 13, 14. The closure element 22 forms with the grinding mill 10 a concrete unit and the coffee bean container 9 is disposed rotatably relative to the unit formed of the closure element 22 and the grinding mill 10. Such a coffee bean container 9 could also be used on an automatic coffee maker with a coffee grinder.
Abstract: A lightning termination preventer (LTP) system to prevent the termination of a lightning stroke within a protected area is disclosed. The LTP system may comprise one or more ionizer arrays located above a protected area. The ionizer arrays are electrically connected to a grounding system and may comprise an essentially flat surface with a plurality of vertical ionizer protrusions. The ionizer protrusions may comprise a blunt distal end. The ionizer arrays may comprise a variety of shapes and may also comprise a short skirt. The radius of protection of a single ionizer array may be estimated. Additionally, the area protected by a plurality of ionizer arrays may be estimated.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an automated rock saw having a saw motor load sensor to control the speed of the conveyor bringing the rock to the saw blade. As the saw motor works harder to cut a given rock, the controller automatically slows the conveyor belts, reducing the load on the saw blade. If the saw blade is easily cutting a given rock and not working at optimum speed, the conveyor will be sped up, increasing production. Also provided in an alternate embodiment is a horizontal blade that can be moved into place to cut the “bottom” of a corner piece, then the standard, vertical blade cuts the other side of the corner.

Abstract: A chain 1 with individual links 2, 3, inserted one into the other, of which at least every second link is formed as a flat link 3. When the flat link 3 has a vertical orientation in the shank region 6, 7 connecting the curvatures 4, 5, the flat link has a smaller maximum diameter H in the vertical direction than in the horizontal direction L. The vertical diameter H of a shank 6, 7 being smaller than the diameter the flat link 3 in the curvatures 4, 5, such that the flat chain links 3 have a ratio of its cross sectional area in the shank region 6, 7 to the cross section area in the central regions 8 of the curvatures 4, 5 is greater than 0.55 and smaller than 0.85. The plane of the horizontal maximum diameter L in the shank region 6, 7 is disposed off-center and offset with respect to the outside of the particular shanks 6, 7.
Abstract: An Al/Cu/Mg/Mn alloy for the production of semi-finished products with high static and dynamic strength properties has the following composition: 0.3–0.7 wt % silicon (Si), max. 0.15 wt. % iron (Fe), 3.5–4.5 wt % copper (Cu), 0.1–0.5 wt. % manganese (Mn), 0.3–0.8 wt. % magnesium (Mg), 0.5–0.15 wt % titanium (Ti), 0.1–0.25 wt % zirconium (Zr), 0.3–0.7 wt. % silver (Ag), max. 0.05 wt. % others individually, max 0.15 wt. % others globally, the remaining wt. % aluminum (Al). The invention further relates to a semi-finished product made for such an alloy and a method of production of a semi-finished product made for such an alloy.

Abstract: A disc assembly in a disc drive includes a hub rotatable about a central axis. Pluralities of disc elements are mounted about outer periphery of the central axis of the hub. An annular shaped disc clamp is located about a first axial end of the hub, the annular shaped clamp holding the outermost disc to the hub by a series of equally spaced fasteners along an inner diameter of the disc clamp. The improvement therein consisting of placing an offset angle on the underside, or disc-to-hub contact area. The offset angle sloping from the inner disc contact point outward to the end of the clamp such that application of pressure during clamping will make a uniform contact area along the clamp surface as the clamp fasteners are tightened to secure the clamp to the hub. This improves flatness, axial run out, reduces repeatable run out and increases reliability.
Abstract: Upper and lower handle members are pivotally attached at one end. Crimper jaws are operated via the handles. The upper handle carries a guide assembly to mount the blade, and operate the cutting mode using an upper handle cradle. Other accessories include a hole punch, a nut driver, a rivet remover and a hammer.

Abstract: A ceramic fuel cell(s) is supported in a heat conductive interconnect plate, and a plurality of plates form a conductive heater named a stack. Connecting a plurality of stacks forms a stick of fuel cells. By connecting a plurality of sticks end to end, a string of fuel cells is formed. The length of the string can be one thousand feet or more, sized to penetrate an underground resource layer, for example of oil. A pre-heater brings the string to an operating temperature exceeding 700° C., and then the fuel cells maintain that temperature via a plurality of conduits feeding the fuel cells fuel and an oxidant, and transferring exhaust gases to a planetary surface. A manifold can be used between the string and the planetary surface to continue the plurality of conduits and act as a heat exchanger between exhaust gases and oxidants/fuel.
Abstract: A standard ceiling recessed lighting fixture can be modified to a low-slung AC or DC light fixture with a screw-in extension rod. The extension rod with bulb can be used to light a restaurant table or a pool table or a workbench and the like. A series of extension rods can be screwed together for a desired length.
