  • Patent number: 6820630
Abstract: A dry sectional gate valve having a swiveling intake elbow and shot pin assembly for selectively locking the elbow into a fixed position. A shot pin extends from a pull-knob through the flange of the elbow into one of a plurality of spaced-apart detent slots or holes around the perimeter of the valve body. The elbow can be swiveled thereby allowing a connecting fire hose to be positioned to minimize kinks and avoid obstacles thereby bringing water freely into the valve. The shot pin can be used to selectively lock the elbow in a desired position facilitating connection and disconnection of mating fire hose couplings or the shot pin can be set to allow the elbow to rotate freely enabling the hose to reach its most relaxed position when charged.

  • Patent number: 6818869
Abstract: A multiple panel cooking oven having individual controls for combined conductive and radiant heating. Each panel comprises an upper heating element for conductive heating and a lower heating element for radiant heating to obtain uniform baking within a zone between panels in the oven. A control panel having displays and keypads interfaces with a processor which provides control signals for adjusting the temperature of the heating elements of the panels. Cooking energy efficiency is increased through the use of radiative and conductive heat transfer, to reduce bake times by significantly increasing heat transfer to the food products. Independent cook zones allow preparation of multiple products simultaneously under different cooking conditions. The oven, in one embodiment may include a convection heating mode of operation. In an alternative embodiment no convection mode is provided and the sole source of heat is provided by the conductive/radiant panels.

  • Patent number: 6736130
Abstract: The primary object of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive fryer, and a further object is to improve thermal efficiency and make cleanup easier. A box-shaped oil vat 10 in which cooking oil is filled has a bottom wall portion 11 that is formed sloping downward toward the rear of the fryer. A burner 20 is provided at the bottom wall portion 11, with which a wide heating area can be secured. An exhaust duct 30 for conveying combustion gas from the burner 20 to the outside the fryer is provided around the oil vat 10 for securing the heated area. With this configuration, it is possible to inhibit the radiation of heat from the cooking oil while promoting the heat exchange between the combustion gas and the cooking oil. Moreover, the cooking oil can be adequately heated by simply providing a single burner 20, so manufacturing costs are not increased.

  • Patent number: 6631311
Abstract: After it has been judged that an oil temperature in an oil vessel of a fryer reaches a predetermined temperature , a specified amount of food is put in the oil vessel. A switch is pressed, and a cooking timer starts in accordance with a preset time, and at the same time, the counting of an actually elapsed time starts. At this time, the count of the cooking timer is displayed on a display portion of the operating panel, along with the count of the actually elapsed time. When it is judged that the time of the cooking timer is up, the counting of the actually elapsed time stops, and the stopped count is displayed on the display portion. In this way, the actually elapsed time is simply and precisely counted.
