Abstract: Proliferation of colorectal, gastric and esophageal cancer cells is inhibited by administering ST receptor ligand. The number of ST receptor molecules on the surface of a colorectal cell or metastasized colorectal cancer cell are increased by administering an ST receptor ligand such that ligand comes into contact with an ST receptor on the surface of the colorectal cell. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise sterile, pyrogen free ST receptor ligand and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. Metastasized colorectal cancer is treated or imaged by increasing the number of ST receptor molecules on the surface of a metastasized colorectal cancer cell and then administering a pharmaceutical composition containing components that target the ST receptor for delivery of a therapeutic agent or imaging agent. Methods of detecting metastasized colorectal cancer are disclosed. Methods of delivering active compounds to a colorectal cell in an individual are disclosed.

Abstract: A remote access client is provided for enabling communication between a remote data terminal configured to access a public network, and an enterprise network by way of a VPN tunnel through the public network. The remote access client includes at least one application program interface (API) to receive a first verification of the operating state of a predetermined application of the remote data terminal to enable a connection agent for establishing a point of presence on the public network. Upon connection to the point of presence, the API exchanges data between the remote access client and the predetermined application of the remote data terminal. The remote access client receives a second periodic verification of the operating state of the predetermined application via the API for terminating the connection to the point of presence upon the absence of the second verification.
Abstract: A method of semantically classifying a data set of open class nouns and a system for executing the method. The method includes loading, by a processing device, a data set comprising one or more open class nouns from a computer readable medium operably connected to the processing device; extracting, by the processing device, the one or more open class nouns from the data set; for each open class noun, querying, by the processing device, one or more application programming interfaces (APIs) to produce one or more results; deriving, by the processing device, a confidence score for the data set based upon the one or more results; and determining, by the processing device, a classification for the data set based upon the derived confidence score.

Abstract: A banknote validator takes both reflection and transmission optical measurements at different wavelengths. An emitter and sensor on one side of the banknote path are used to make a calibration measurement using light reflected from a window on the other side of the path, overlying another optical device. Each measurement is normalized on the basis of multiple measurements of different wavelengths, distributed over a substantial area, such as along the relevant scan line, preferably using a value representing the dispersion of the measurements.
Abstract: A system for locking and unlocking containers to transport modes and other containers comprises an actuating unit in an upper corner fitting of a container, a mechanical connecting mechanism connected to the actuating unit, and guides to route the connecting mechanism from the actuating unit to a rotatable locking leg housed in a lower corner fitting of the container. The twist lock of a lifting spreader engages the upper corner fitting of a container, urging the actuating unit. The connecting mechanism is in turn urged thereby causing the locking leg to rotate. The locking system, and apparatus to unlock a container twistlock, comprises in addition to an actuating unit, a locking mechanism in a lower corner fitting of the container, and a vertical coupler connecting the actuating unit with the locking mechanism.
