Abstract: A dual phase fuel injection nozzle assembly, including primary injection means which operate to provide a fine flow of fuel through an outward-opening check valve assembly and through a relatively small orifice. The assembly also includes secondary injection means which operate as an accumulator type fuel nozzle, utilizing a "non-return" valve to trap the fuel under pressure in an accumulator chamber and an inward-opening valve to control flow from the accumulator chamber through a relatively large orifice. The two phases are correlated with engine operating conditions to provide optimum rates of fuel injection over the entire operating range of a diesel engine.
Abstract: A hydraulic actuator comprising a pair of pressure oil chambers each of which has a cushioning port, the two cushioning ports being connected to each other through a cushioning means. The cushioning means includes a pair of cracking valves whose closing pressure is lower than its opening pressure and a pair of restricting means for restricting the flow of a pressure oil provided with regard to said cracking valves. This structure permits an output means for the actuator to be stopped smoothly as a result of fully absorbing the inertial energy that accompanies the output means.
Abstract: A mobile construction machine comprises a pair of working components pivotally connected together by a pin. The pin has a first stop means secured on a first end thereof to prevent longitudinal movement of the pin in a first direction relative to the components and a second stop means releasably attached to a second end of the pin to prevent it from moving in the opposite direction. Upon removal of the second stop means from the pin, the pin may be removed from aligned bores formed through the components to disconnect the same. Upon reinstallation of the pin, a conically shaped self-centering member is attached to the pin in lieu of the second stop means to facilitate reinsertion of the pin into the bores formed in the components.
Abstract: A hydraulic fluid pressure energy translating machine is provided with hydrostatic pressure-balancing means which communicate with the primary port to balance hydrostatic forces acting on the barrel during operation of the machine to maintain an optimum bearing clearance between the head and barrel, thereby controlling fluid leakage and maintaining adequate lubrication and support at this interface.

Abstract: A data processing system for monitoring a telephone switching system comprises a microprocessor controller, random access and read only memories, and data input and error output means. The data processing system analyzes the received data to determine if the switching system is operating correctly, and if it is not outputs coded information indicating the errors discovered and methods for switching system repair.
Abstract: A duplex filter system having two filterized fluid flow circuits for maintaining continuous fluid flow to an engine or similar liquid utilizing device during a filter change operation. A fluid control system is provided including liquid-obstructing air vent means for selectively venting air under pressure from an empty one of said two circuits while retaining fluid under pressure within the other said circuit during charging of said empty circuit, whereby fluid pressure within the system is regulated, and the fluid flow controlled. Detection means for detecting pressure within each of the two circuits.
Abstract: A wheeled mover unit has mounted to the frame thereof a ring gear, and a rollingly movable irrigation line has fixed thereto oppositely extending arms, to which are mounted hydraulic motors for driving pinion gears in engagement with the ring gear. Conduit means run from a hydraulic pump at the end of the irrigation line to the hydraulic motors to drive the pinion gears so that such pinion gears orbit about the ring gear, turning the oppositely extending arms to in turn rotate the irrigation line.
Abstract: A hinge assembly for connecting a door with a frame member includes an arm pivotally secured relative to the frame member, and an arm secured to the door. A spring pin is utilized to secure the two arms together so that the door is pivotally connected to the frame member. The arms and connecting means associated therewith are positioned so that they are inward of the door with such door in its closed position.
Abstract: A tool for removing insulation from a cable includes roller means for supporting cables of different diameters while permitting rotation of the tool relative to the cable. The tool includes a blade which is positioned to urge and move the tool and cable relatively axially for each turn of the tool and cable relatively. A bar member is included for limiting relative axial movement of the cable and tool for each turn of the tool and cable relatively, to a certain distance less than such axial distance movement determined by the positioning of the blade, at each turn of the tool and cable relatively.
Abstract: A V-8 internal combustion engine has its two cylinder banks disposed at an included angle of 65.degree. and each adjacent pair of crankpins of a two-plane, counterweighted crankshaft displaced at an angle of 25.degree. with respect to each other. Sharp edges initially formed at diametrically opposed intersections of each pair of crankpins are ground-off to form an S-shaped blended surface area thereat for reducing stress concentrations.
Abstract: A parking brake system with transmission interlock means is provided with means to override the interlock means. The parking brake system is spring-actuated and fluid pressure released with means to vent the transmission controls when the parking brake is engaged. A special interlock valve is provided to selectively override the normal system to prevent venting of the transmission.
Abstract: A truck body unit configured for wrecking and/or hauling operations includes a fabricated body unit having a structural framework suitable for connection to a chassis frame with a flat bed generally configured for hauling operations, a boom being pivotably connected with the structural framework adjacent a rearward end of the body unit for movement between a lowered position in general alignment with the bed and an erect position with a rearward end of the boom extending past and above the rearward end of the flat bed. The boom is adapted for supporting a load to be towed with a motor being operatively interconnected between the boom and the structural framework for raising and lowering the boom. Although the boom is particularly contemplated for raising a load by operation of the interconnecting motor means, a separate winch unit may also be provided for increased operating versatility of the truck.
Abstract: An attachment for use on a fork lift truck includes a base portion, and stabilizer bars movable relative thereto, laterally of the truck. The attachment also includes a platform movable relative to the base means laterally of the truck, and actuating means, including pulley and cable means, are utilized to initially move the stabilizer bars laterally of the truck, for engagement with a storage rack for stabilizing the fork lift truck. The platform is then shifted laterally to shift the load thereon. When this operation is completed, the platform is initially retracted, with the stabilizer bars in their outward or extended positions, and then the stabilizer bars themselves are retracted.
Abstract: A magazine for dispensing cartridges has improved capacity provided by an enlarged case and a hinged, two-piece follower pivotally mounted on a follower platform, which is elevated in the case by means of a spring. The enlarged case also serves as a hand rest to aid in steadying a rifle with which the magazine is used, thereby improving firing accuracy.
Abstract: A fluid control circuit for regulating fluid flow between a pressurized fluid source and a hydraulic motor, including a control valve having a movable spool for communicating fluid entering an inlet chamber from the source with service chambers in communication with the motor, a dump valve limiting communication of the inlet chamber with a drain in response to spring means and fluid communicated to the dump valve through a passage open to either of the service chambers when it is placed in communication with the inlet chamber by the control valve spool, the passage otherwise communicating the dump valve with a drain so that fluid communication between the inlet chamber and drain is limited only by the spring means. The force of the spring means may also be varied in certain embodiments of the invention.
