Abstract: A printing apparatus for generating an image which includes a housing, a ribbon supply holder, a tape supply holder, an input device, a thermal printing head and a tape attachment device. The ribbon supply holder is operatively coupled to the housing to hold a supply of ink ribbon. The ink ribbon includes a film layer with an ink layer disposed thereon, and a receptor layer for receiving ink from the film layer. The tape supply holder is operatively coupled to the housing to hold a supply of tape, and the tape includes an adhesive layer. The input device is operatively coupled to the housing to enter data used to generate the image by the printing apparatus. The thermal printing head is operatively coupled to the housing to print the entered data on the ink ribbon. The tape attachment device attaches the tape to the film layer of the ink ribbon.

Abstract: The blow-molded hose of a synthetic resin of the present invention is produced by blow-molding a single parison comprising a soft resin and a hard resin. The blow-molded hose comprises a monolayer (or single-layer) segment formed with either a soft resin layer or a hard resin layer and multilayer (laminating) segment formed with the soft resin layer and the hard resin layer, wherein, in the multilayer (laminating) segment, the thickness of the resin layer forming the monolayer segment is thinner than that of the other resin layer. Practically, the monolayer segment comprises the soft resin layer and forms the connection end (s) at the end (s) of the hose.
Abstract: A stereoscopic image display apparatus having a light source that defines at least one right and left light-cells which provide plural pairs of right and left lights. A spatial modulator, spaced apart from the light source, spatially modulates the right and left lights from the light source so as to focus the right and left lights on the eyes of at least one viewer. A display mode changer is capable of automatically changing the display mode of the image display between a stereoscopic image display mode and a normal plane image display mode. The display is automatically changed in accordance with the location of the viewer or in response to an instruction from the viewer.

Abstract: Apparatus for the supply of breathable gas cyclically at an inspiratory pressure and a lower expiratory pressure substantially in synchronism with a patient's respiration. A flow generator coupled to a gas delivery system delivers breathable gas to the patient's airway. A motor controller receives a signal representing respiratory flow. The motor controller sends out a signal to control an electric motor and turbine to generate the desired inspiratory and expiratory pressures. The controller detects transitions between inspiration and expiration via a flow signal to discriminate between the respiratory phases of the patient. A counter counts a first time duration commencing from the last transition to inspiration and whereby if the first time duration elapses before a transition to expiration is detected, the controller initiates the supply of a given expiratory pressure.

Abstract: A panel includes a sheet of light permeable, preferably optically clear transparent material and a transparent or translucent design superimposed on or forming part of a transparent or translucent base pattern. The design is visible from one side of the panel and a mirror image of the design is visible from the other side of the panel when a sufficiently high level of illuminated is provided on either side or both sides of the panel.
Abstract: A rotational molding method is provided consisting in a first method of spraying the inner mold area with an acrylic polyethylene alloy prior to loading the resin into the mold. The mold is then heated, rotated and cooled to form the molded part. The part is provided with a shinier and harder surface layer as compared to previous rotational molding methods. In a second method, in lieu of spraying, the acrylic polyethylene alloy is loaded into the mold with the resin. In the third and fourth methods, a drop box is provided for releasing resins into the mold. Other materials, in addition to acrylic polyethylene, can also be used with the various methods.
Abstract: The evaporator and the condenser are disposed in a duct. First bypass passage is disposed at the side of the condenser and first air mixing damper rotates to control air bypassing amount. Further second bypass passage is formed at the side of the evaporator and second mixing damper rotates to control air bypassing amount. Cooling rate at the evaporator and heating rate at the condenser are varied so that air adjusted in proper temperature is generated and discharged from each outlets into a room. An outside heat exchanger is disposed the outside of the duct. Refrigerant flow is randomly switched among the outside heat exchanger, the evaporator and the condenser so that cooling, heating, dehumidifying, dehumidified-heating and defrosting operations are performed.

Abstract: Ruthenium and osmium carbene compounds that are stable in the presence of a variety of functional groups and can be used to catalyze olefin metathesis reactions on unstrained cyclic and acyclic olefins are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods of making the carbene compounds. The carbene compounds are of the formula
where M is Os or Ru; R1 is hydrogen; R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, and substituted or unsubstituted aryl; X and X1 are independently selected from any anionic ligand; and L and L1 are independently selected from any neutral electron donor. The ruthenium and osmium carbene compounds of the present invention may be synthesized using diazo compounds, by neutral electron donor ligand exchange, by cross metathesis, using acetylene, using cumulated olefins, and in a one-pot method using diazo compounds and neutral electron donors.

Abstract: An intake duct capable of reducing intake noise when an engine runs at a low speed and supplying a sufficiently large amount of air when the engine runs at a high speed without using any electron control circuit or electromagnetic valve, which is produced at low costs. The intake duct includes valve adjusting means which restrains the movement of the valve member when the valve member brings a second intake passage from the closed state to the open state, and facilitates the movement of the valve member when the valve member brings the second intake passage from the open state to the closed state. When the second intake passage is brought to the open state from the closed state, the restraining force of the valve adjusting means is great to restrain the movement of the valve member, and when the second intake passage is brought to the closed state from the open state, the valve member readily pivots to open the second intake passage.

Abstract: The invention relates to an impeller being rotated around an axis for a mass flow measuring device receiving inflow of material through an inlet tube. To improve the measurement accuracy, the fan character of the impeller is reduced. This is obtained by two design principles which can be combined. The impeller includes a number of mainly radially directed vanes. That side of each vane along which the measured material flows is formed as a duct with a cross-sectional area which decreases in the direction from the center of the impeller. The other principle is to reduce the airflow by use of an upside down bowl shaped cowling placed over the impeller.
Abstract: A heat exchanger for use in a sulphuric acid manufacturing plant to effect heat transfer between desired gas streams selected from air, sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide. The exchanger provides for hot or cold split flow gas streams through the exchanger shell with either mixing or splitting into two or more streams to provide for reduced condensible material condensation, corrosion, metal thermal differential stress and capital equipment cost. A preferred exchanger is used in combination with a sulphur burning furnace to provide an improved preheater.
