Abstract: Disclosed are a rubbing cloth for aligning a liquid crystal, method of manufacturing the same, apparatus for manufacturing the same and method of manufacturing an LCD using the same. A rubbing pile formed on a rubbing cloth fabric fabricated by interweaving a weft and a warp having a length longer than that of the weft is aligned in a direction parallel to the weft. Accordingly, it is able to manufacture the rubbing cloth having a various size without a length of the alignment film and increase yield of the rubbing cloth.
Abstract: A method for distributing clocks to flip-flop circuits which constitute a logic circuit includes obtaining a timing slack of a first minimum delay time with respect to a minimum delay constraint time and a timing slack of a first maximum delay time with respect to a maximum delay constraint time for a clock in an input path to a flip-flop circuit, obtaining a timing slack of a second minimum delay time with respect to a minimum delay constraint time and a timing slack of a second maximum delay time with respect to a maximum delay constraint time for a clock in an output path from all the flip-flop circuits which receive the clocks from a clock terminal directly and obtaining a delay value which maximizes a minimum value of each of the first and second minimum delay time and maximum delay time of timing slacks.

Abstract: A memory cell array has a plurality of memory cells arranged in row and columns, and bit lines and word lines connected to the memory cells. Abstract: A system dispenses both liquid natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). A bulk tank contains a supply of LNG which is pumped to a smaller storage tank. After the storage tank is refilled, LNG from the bulk tank is pumped to a vaporizer so that CNG is produced. The CNG may be routed to the LNG in the storage tank to condition it. It is also used to recharge a pressurizing cylinder that is placed in communication with the head space of the storage tank when it is desired to rapidly dispense LNG to a vehicle. A bank of cascaded storage cylinders alternatively may receive CNG from the vaporizer for later dispensing through the system CNG dispenser. The CNG from the vaporizer may also be dispensed directly via the system CNG dispenser.

Abstract: An accurate blending module for retrofitting existing laboratory or industrial systems or use as a standalone device and a method of use. The module includes a proportioning submodule that receives and merges at least two liquid feeds. The merged stream flows to a blending submodule. The resulting blended liquid stream flows through a detection submodule which detects a characteristic of the blended liquid stream. The detection submodule sends a corresponding signal to a controller. The controller adjusts the proportioning submodule based on the signal.
Abstract: A Moisture and Density Detector (MDD) provides a method and apparatus to determine the moisture content and/or density, as well as presence and location of anomalies, and/or wood type of any dielectric material for various purposes. This device is very useful in detecting the moisture content of wood and wood-based materials, such as that of lumber in a dry kiln prior to, during and/or following drying. The MDD passes a radio frequency signal and/or any other signal between opposed or adjacent capacitance electrodes and measures the signal strength and phase shift of the signal. The addition of phase shift and multiple frequencies improves the accuracy of the results.
Abstract: A system for localizing a zone in space in relation to a predetermined point on a surface, wherein the surface is divided into nine zones of first rank obtained by dividing the surface into three parts in two different directions, a predetermined respective number from 1 to 9 is attributed to each of the zones of first rank, each zone of rank n, n being a whole number greater than or equal to 1, is divided successively into zones of rank n+1, a predetermined respective number from 1 to 9 being attributed to each of the zones of rank n+1 of a zone of inferior rank n, and a zone of rank n is position referenced by a zone reference sequence having n digits containing the number of the zone, the respective numbers of all of the zones of inferior rank, 1 to n?1, in which the zone is located, including means for determining the position reference sequence of a zone of rank n in which is located a zone to be localized in the surface, n being the maximum value such that the surface of the zone to be localized is incl
Abstract: This invention relates to the cloning of a member of a new potassium channel named TWIK-1. More specifically, it relates to an isolated and purified nucleic acid molecule coding for a protein constituting a potassium channel exhibiting the proper-ties and structure of the TWIK-1 type channel, as well as the protein coded by this nucleic acid molecule. The invention also relates to the use of this nucleic acid molecule to transform cells, and the use of these cells expressing the potassium channels exhibiting the properties and structure of the TWIK-1 type channel for the screening of drugs.

Abstract: A motherboard of a computer system has a video display port, a reprogrammable non-volatile memory, a controller for the non-volatile memory, and a graphics controller circuit for outputting video signals to the video display port. A wired-OR circuit connects the graphics controller circuit to the controller to the port. Thus, the video display port can be used to output video signals from the computer system to a peripheral video display device, and the video display port can be used as an input port to reprogram the non-volatile memory. The present invention also relates to a non-volatile memory device which has an array of non-volatile memory cells and two ports for communication therewith. A first port receives a first communication protocol and interfaces with the array in the first communication protocol. A second port receives a second communication protocol and converts the second communication protocol into the first communication protocol.

Abstract: The present invention creates oxide and air apertures in material systems, such as InP, that do not usually accommodate epitaxial incorporation of highly oxidizing materials, such as AlAs, of sufficient thickness to adequately provide optical as well as current aperturing. A composite structure of relatively slowly oxidizing layer or layers (e.g. AlInAs on InP) with a faster-oxidizing layer or layers (e.g. AlAs on InP) can be used to produce oxide and air apertures of various shapes and sizes, and to also increase the oxidation rate.
