  • Patent number: 6427197
Abstract: The present invention is a memory circuit for writing prescribed numbers of bits of write data, determined according to the burst length, in response to write command, comprising: a first stage for inputting, and then holding, row addresses and column addresses simultaneously with the write command; a second stage having a memory core connected to the first stage via a pipeline switch, wherein the row addresses and column addresses are decoded, and word line and sense amps are activated; a third stage for inputting the write data serially and sending the write data to the memory core in parallel; and a serial data detection circuit for generating write-pipeline control signal for making the pipeline switch conduct, after the prescribed number of bits of write data has been inputted. According to the present invention, in an FCRAM exhibiting a pipeline structure, the memory core in the second stage can be activated after safely fetching the write data in the burst length.

  • Patent number: 6422226
Abstract: A highly stable engine failure diagnosing system free from influence of purging is presented. A monitoring apparatus for monitoring a fuel feed system of an internal combustion engine is provided with an A/F ratio detector and an A/F ratio controller for performing feedback control of the A/F ratio. An A/F ratio feedback coefficient is calculated according to the output of the detector. A malfunction determination parameter is calculated based on the coefficient. A purging is suspended when the parameter reaches a first decision value. The monitoring is suspended when the parameter reaches a second decision value in a purge cutting state. A value of the malfunction determination parameter it would take if the purge cut was not carried out is estimated using the value when the parameter reached the first decision value. The monitoring is resumed when the estimated value of the malfunction determination parameter reaches the second decision value.

  • Patent number: 6424297
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting the position of a moving body in which the position of a moving body such as a vehicle can be detected with a high degree of precision. It is possible to perform at least data communication using radio waves between radio base stations and a vehicle capable of movement. Precise positions are stored in advance in the radio base stations and radio wave clocks that keep a common time are provided in the radio base stations. The radio base stations transmit radio waves containing this time information. The vehicle receives these radio waves and determines the difference between the received time information and a clock provided in the vehicle in order to detect the current position of the vehicle by calculating the distances between the vehicle and each of the radio base stations.

  • Patent number: 6424895
Abstract: An automatic steering system for a vehicle is provided which includes a memory section for storing data for a steering angle of a wheel with respect to a distance of movement of a vehicle in correspondence to four parking modes. If a desired parking mode is selected by a mode selecting switch and the vehicle is moved at a creep while depressing a brake pedal, a control section controls the operation of a steering actuator to perform automatic parking control. At this time, an object detector continuously detects the position of an object around or in the vicinity of the subject vehicle, and when there is an obstacle already existing within a locus of movement of the subject vehicle, or when there is a possibility that a moving obstacle may enter into the locus of movement of the subject vehicle, a warning is provided to a driver, and an automatic brake is operated. Thus, it is possible to reliably perform the automatic parking control when there is an obstacle.

  • Patent number: 6424188
Abstract: In a conventional signal transmission device that transmits signals fed thereto to another device through a transformer, when the direction of the current flowing through the primary coil of the transformer is switched by switching devices connected in series between two different potentials, the timing with which the switching device that has been receiving current up to the moment is turned off is delayed from the timing with which the other switching devices are turned on or off to reduce overshoots and undershoots. This, however, may distort the square wave appearing across the secondary coil and make correct signal transmission impossible. To prevent this, a signal transmission device of the invention additionally has a waveform adjustment circuit that controls the delay time produced by a timing adjustment circuit according to changes in the states of control signals.

  • Patent number: 6422371
Abstract: A centrifugal friction clutch for an automatic transmission includes axially movable friction elements supported on and rotated with an input member. Axially slidable clutch elements are supported on a clutch cover, wherein centrifugal weights held by spring members are disposed at predetermined positions on the clutch cover. First retaining means on the clutch cover press the friction members and clutch members against each other so that power can be transmitted when the centrifugal weights are displaced. A first spring bearing member contacting one end of each of the spring members urges the centrifugal weights toward their initial positions while a second spring bearing member contacting the other end of each of the spring members is held in place on the clutch cover by second retaining means engaging the clutch cover. The first and second bearing members are axially movable relative to the input member.
