Patent number: 6409620Abstract: In a section near a rocking edge of each of metal elements used in a metal belt for a continuously variable transmission, a pair of protrusions are formed at laterally opposite ends of a front main surface opposed to a preceding metal element, and flat surface portions are formed on a rear main surface opposed to a succeeding metal element. The metal elements can be wound in a correct attitude around a pulley without being yawed by the contact of the protrusions and the flat surface portions with each other, whereby they can be prevented from being damaged. Further the metal elements contacting with each other in a chord section of the metal belt can slide laterally. Thus, a misalignment between a drive pulley and a driven pulley can be absorbed.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2000Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hideaki Yoshida, Takamichi Shimada

Patent number: 6407957Abstract: Data lines are wired next to each other. A sense amplifier receives the data and outputs an amplified signal. Dummy data lines are laid out along both sides of a data bus consisting of the data lines. The dummy data lines have the same voltage variation as the data lines during a read operation of the data stored in the memory cells. This reduces the potential differences between the data lines and the dummy data lines during a read operation. As a result, the outer data lines and the inner data lines become nearly equal to each other in coupling characteristics, and the lengths of time it takes for the data read to each of the data lines to rise become almost equal to each other. Since the data lines have smaller fluctuations in rising time, the read time (access time) is accelerated.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2000Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventor: Yasushi Kasa

Patent number: 6401451Abstract: A system for discriminating degradation of an exhaust purification system of an internal combustion engine having an adsorbent installed at a bypass exhaust gas passage branched from an exhaust pipe of the engine, which is opened by a switch-over valve at starting of the engine to introduce the exhaust gas such that the adsorbent adsorbs unburned HC in exhaust gas generated by the engine and is closed such that the adsorbent desorbs the adsorbed HC and the desorbed HC is thereafter recirculated at a position upstream of a catalyst. Based on the fact, due to the adsorption effect, the HC concentration at a downstream point is lower than that at an upstream point, in the system, the concentration of the HC introduced in the bypass exhaust gas passage in the adsorption mode is detected and compared with a threshold value and the degradation of the adsorbent is discriminated, thereby enabling to improve the discrimination accurately.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2000Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yuji Yasui, Yushihisa Iwaki, Tadashi Satoh, Masahiro Satoh
