  • Patent number: 5857186
Abstract: A sorting apparatus in which, while its scale is limited so as not to become large, all of base axis data supplied as its input are sorted in order, and, at the same time, the sorted base axis data are outputted in the sorted order. The sorting apparatus includes a plurality of sorter sections, a base axis data train divider section for supplying partial base axis data trains to these sorter sections, and a comparative result output section for merge/sorting (comparatively selecting) the results of sorting of the individual partial base axis data trains in the plural sorter sections and sequentially outputting the sorted ones of the base axis data in the sorted order. Thus, in the sorting apparatus, base axis data are divided into a plurality of partial base axis data trains, and, after the partial base axis data trains are partially concurrently sorted in the plural sorter sections, the base axis data are sequentially outputted from the comparative result output section in the sorted order.

  • Patent number: 5855791
Abstract: A method for detecting and controlling cooling system characteristics. A flow rate of make-up cooling medium is measured. A conductivity of the make-up cooling medium is measured. A conductivity of a recirculating cooling medium is measured. A treatment material feed rate is determined based upon the formula: ##EQU1## where X is a treatment feed rate of a treatment compound, .OMEGA. is a desired concentration of the treatment compound, and K is a constant. A corrosion rate of the recirculating cooling medium is measured. A desired corrosion rate of the recirculating cooling medium is determined. A feed rate of a corrosion inhibitor is calculated according to the following formula:Y=(X)?1+.alpha.(CORR.sub.MEASURED /CORR.sub.SETPOINT)!,where .alpha. is a cascade factor that varies in a step-wise manner depending upon the value of CORR.sub.MEASURED /CORR.sub.SETPOINT and has a value between about 0.1 and about 8.0. A corrosion inhibitor is then fed at the corrosion inhibitor feed rate.

  • Patent number: 5853298
Abstract: An airbag igniter plug including a plug housing, a removable cover latched onto the housing, and a secondary locking clip having locking arms which are inserted into grooves in the cover and which are slidable from a rear unlocking position to a front locking position. A resilient finger on the locking clip cooperates with a ramp on the cover to retain the locking clip in its unlocking or locking position. When the locking clip is moved into its locking position, its locking arms bias the locking arms at the front of the plug body outwardly so as to engage their locking catches and prevent unmating of the plug from its mating socket.

  • Patent number: 5852585
Abstract: In an addressing unit fort reducing a wasteful time created to reach an address latch to attain fast processing, a pre-decoder for pre-decoding an X address and a Y address is provided in a preceding stage to the address latch, the address signal pre-decoded by the pre-decoder is latched in the address latch and the latched address signal is decoded by a decoder. Thus, the pre-decode process can be conducted in the same time period required to latch the address signal in a conventional unit in which the pre-decoder is arranged in a succeeding stage of the address latch circuit, and after the address latching, only the decode process is needed.

  • Patent number: 5850772
Abstract: During a remaining time which is defined by excluding a positioning settling time t.sub.s and a cutting time interval t.sub.T during which a cutting edge is brought into contact with a stock from a period of time T allotted to a cutting operation which is determined by a preset length L.sub.0 and a stock running speed V.sub.A, the cutting edge maintains a speed difference .DELTA. which is as small as possible relative to V.sub.A during a fraction of the remaining time which is as long as possible. An acceleration which causes the speed difference .DELTA. is chosen to be as less as possible below a maximum acceleration which is demanded by the machine specification.

  • Patent number: 5851908
Abstract: A method for introduction of an impurity dopant into a semiconductor layer of SiC comprises the step of ion implantation of the dopant in the semiconductor layer at a low temperature. The ion implantation is carried out in such a way that a doped and amorphous near-surface layer is formed, and the implantation step is followed by a step of annealing the semiconductor layer at such a high temperature that the dopant diffuses into the non-implanted sub-layer of the semiconductor layer following the near-surface layer.

  • Patent number: 5851115
Abstract: A method and apparatus thereof for collecting control data for the production of replacement dental parts. The method includes the steps of imaging a body area and a replacement part with a single imaging device which is arranged to take a simultaneous picture of the body area from different angles during one exposure. The pictures are developed and scanned with a reading device which generates digitized data of the imaged body area and the replacement part to be applied in that area. The digitized data is transmitted to computer equipment which automatically reproduces the body area and replacement part on a screen. A computer program calculates spacial relations data of surfaces of the body area and replacement part and the data is used as control data in making and fitting the replacement part in the human body.
