Abstract: Standardized transmission of digital data with trusted and untrusted connections by translating non-native requests and or non-native responses to and from a normalized format or to a format needed for processing the request and or response configured in hub and spoke, star, direct, peer to peer or hybrid connections. Encryption is provided at multiple layers to establish non-repudiation for a security service that integrates external security applications into a single service.
Abstract: A support system includes a plurality of spaced apart cross members, a plurality of decking members supported on the cross members and extending perpendicular to the cross members to form a support surface, and retainers securing the decking members to the cross members. The retainers limit movement of the decking members relative to the cross members in a direction away from the cross members. The cross members, the decking members, and the retainers are formed as separate components. The decking members are secured to the retainers. The retainers are secured to the cross members with a snap fit connection.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an immunotherapeutic method for treating patients suffering from colon cancer, by administering expanded tumour-reactive CD4+ helper and/or CD8+ T-lymphocytes obtainable from one or more sentinel or metinel lymph nodes draining a tumour in the colon or a metastasis arising from a tumour in the colon. The present invention provides a new effective method for treating colon cancer and metastatic colon cancer, without adverse side effects associated with the known treatments.
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of molecular biology, virology and medicine and, more specifically, to novel derivatives of 3?-azido-3?-deoxythymidine phosphonates with the following general formula where R=alkyl groups, including those containing halogen atoms, carboxy-, hydroxy-, alkoxy- and acyloxy- groups as well as substituted aminocarbonyl groups. The compounds can be used as antiviral agents as they have low toxicity and can effectively inhibit replication of type 1 immunodeficiency virus in MT-4 cell culture and generate AZT in mammalians ensuring a gradual increase of its concentration in the blood.

Abstract: A waste fitting for a basin, or similar item, comprising a first open end, a second open end and an inlet between the first and second ends. The waste fitting comprises a first seat for a plug, the inlet being located between the first seat and the second end, and a second seat for a plug, the second seat being located between the inlet and the second end. The inlet is connected in use to the overflow of the basin or similar item. With the plug in the second seat, the portion of the waste fitting above the plug, and the overflow system, may be filled with and may retain a cleaning or disinfecting product.
Abstract: An integrated securement and closure apparatus uses mechanical fasteners disposed in access lumens located radially outwardly from a centrally disposed opening for an endoscope. The mechanical fasteners are used to secure the distal end of an overtube against and isolate a target area of tissue inside a patient. An incision is made in the isolated target and the mechanical fasteners are used to approximate the tissue of the incision following and surgical intervention.
Abstract: A bottom block assembly includes a block having a central vertical axis, a hook secured to the block for attaching a load to the block, a first pair of sheaves rotatably attached to the block, a first rope reeved about the first pair of sheaves, a second pair of sheaves rotatably attached to the block, and a second rope reeved about the second pair of reeves. The first and second pairs of sheaves are each equally spaced about the central vertical axis. The first pair of sheaves are located higher on the block than the second pair of sheave so that a portion of the first rope located between the first pair of sheaves crosses over a portion of the second rope located between the second pair of sheaves. If either rope fails, the other rope ensures the block remains level with a full load attached to the hook.
Abstract: Methods for treating a patient suffering from a neoplastic disease are disclosed and described. A number of diseases can be treated under the present methods, including without limitation gall bladder cancer, hepato cellular cancer, ovarian cancer, small intestine cancer, lung cancer, mesothelioma, breast cancer, kidney cancer, pancreas cancer, prostate cancer, carcinoid cancer, leiomyosarcoma, or metastasis thereof. A general method for providing such treatment may include: 1) identifying in a patient one or more sentinel and/or metinel lymph nodes draining the neoplasm; 2) resecting the one or more nodes and, optionally all or part of the tumour or metastasis; 3) isolating tumour-reactive T-lymphocytes from said lymph nodes; 4) in vitro expanding said tumour-reactive T-lymphocytes; and 5) administering the thus obtained tumour-reactive T-lymphocytes to the patient.
Abstract: A Secure Service Network (SSN) in which at least two participants having a relationship are connected to a physical network by way of Secure Service Gateways and share information defined by one or more Service Definitions allowing for the creation of a secure Virtual Service Connection (VSC) between the participants in which the VSC is specific to the activity being performed and the participants provisioned for that activity. SSN enables the creation of a secure virtual network topology on any network transport that allows participants to exchange documents and transact business over the network real time, where all activity inherits a business and security infrastructure that is independent and in addition to the applications, devices, web services, users using the network.
Abstract: Apparatus for heat exchange in a high pressure gas storage tank wherein a heat absorbent gas media circulates within the tank and absorbs or radiates the heat resulting from compression and expansion of gas stored in the on board tank depending upon the mode of operation of the vehicle, the gas media is circulated through a heat exchange unit external to the tank whereby heat is radiated to or absorbed from an environment external to the tank, and an in situ heat exchange device installed within the tank absorbs or radiates the heat from or to the gas stored in the tank as a result of heat exchange through a unit external to the tank.
Abstract: Reduction of fuel tank heating during the refueling process is effected by a coolant exchange between the station and the vehicle whereby an on board heat exchanger internal to the tank is interconnected through a heat exchanger external to the tank with a station side cooler that cools the refill gas to an ambient temperature. As a result of station provided ambient temperature cooling, the vehicle does not need to have particularly complicated on-board cooling devices, nor does the station need to be encumbered with complex and expensive pre cooling devices.
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for measuring, in particular, the amount of oil present in a quantity of water. The apparatus comprises a measurement chamber (12) having an optical window (18) through which an excitation signal may be transmitted and fluorescent light may be detected. The apparatus further includes an ultrasonic transducer (34) coupled to the measurement chamber and having a pair of channels (44,45) formed therein, the channels opening onto the measurement window (18). A respective light guide (28) is inserted into each channel, one light guide being arranged to deliver the excitation signal into the chamber through the measurement window, the other being arranged to carry fluorescent light from the chamber.
