  • Patent number: 7086664
Abstract: A jack handle includes a handle arm having first and second ends, a jack driver having a coupling shaft, and a spring clip detachably securing the jack driver to the handle arm. The first end of the handle arm forms a socket receiving the coupling shaft. The spring clip has a protrusion resiliently deflectable between a locking position interlocking with the coupling shaft to secure the jack driver to the handle arm and a releasing position free of the coupling shaft such that the jack driver is released from the handle arm. Preferably, the spring clip encircles the periphery of the handle arm at the socket, the handle arm has an opening at the socket, and the protrusion of the clip extends through the opening and into the groove to interlock the jack driver with the handle arm.

  • Patent number: 7086509
Abstract: A vibration isolator with an adjustable response. A vibration isolator for isolating a vibration source from a support structure include a base in engagement with the support structure and two supports connected to the base. At least one of the supports is slidably connected to the base. A flexible member having a generally elongate shape and an elongate length is supported by the two supports. The flexible member is attachable to the vibration source. Each support slidably engages the flexible member such that the flexible member can move relative to each support with the support that is slidably connected to the base being moveable along the elongate length of the flexible member.

  • Patent number: 7077952
Abstract: A wastewater treatment system integrates three tanks that oxidize organic compounds, retain solids, reduce nutrients, an inactivate pathogens, discharging an effluent that protects public health and the environment. The system homogenizes wastewater and controls its frequency, interval, volume, and rate of dosing into a treatment tank designed to develop, facilitate, optimize, and maintain dense microbial colonies both suspended in liquid and attached to engineered filter media. These colonies and filter media complete the oxidation, retention, reduction, and inactivation.

  • Patent number: 7059396
Abstract: Geometric parameters of micro channel aspect ratios are determined for heat exchangers for gaseous fluids in which micro channels have a surface area density greater than 10000 m2/m3 in the alternate situations a) where volume is constant, and b) where volume is variable. Computational fluid dynamics and an analytical approach are combined under given constraints to optimize micro channel aspect ratio and micro channel spacing using plots of the performance curves of pressure loss in the channel for the hot side; pressure loss in the channel for the cold side; heat flux; and heat transfer rate.

  • Patent number: 7043788
Abstract: A footwear liner includes two sides connected at a front seam and a back seam by stitching, an inner bottom piece connected to the two sides along a bottom seam by stitching, and an outer bottom piece adhered to the inner bottom piece. Each side includes an outer layer, an inner layer, and an intermediate layer that is impermeable to water and permeable to vapor. The outer bottom piece includes an outer layer and an inner layer that is impermeable to water and permeable to vapor. The two sides and the inner bottom piece cooperate to form a partial enclosure with a toe portion, a heel portion, and an open top portion. In the preferred embodiment, the front and back seams are covered by a sealing tape to waterproof the seams, and the outer bottom piece overlaps and is adhered to portions of the sides adjacent the bottom seam to form a waterproof seal between the outer bottom piece and the sides.
