Abstract: A window assembly includes a glazing, a frame encircling a periphery of the glazing and securable about an opening in a support structure, and at least one retaining bracket secured to the glazing. The retaining bracket can be secured to the glazing with adhesive or mechanical fasteners. The retaining bracket has at least one tab forming an interlock with the frame to secure the glazing to the frame so that the glazing is selectively removable from the frame without removing the frame from the support structure. Preferably, the retaining bracket extends through an opening in the frame and the tab engages an edge of the opening to form the interlock.
Abstract: A shifter mechanism includes a shift lever movable along a shift path and a detent assembly. The detent assembly includes a detent profile defining a plurality of gear positions, a bore, a detent plunger located at least partially within the bore, a spring member resiliently biasing the detent plunger into engagement with the detent profile, a split bushing located between the detent plunger and the bore, and a spacer located between the spring member and the bushing. The bushing is located between the spacer and an abutment of the detent plunger, and the spring member is located between the spacer and an abutment of the bore. Contact surfaces between the bushing and the abutment and between the bushing and the spacer are each angled so that a force of the spring member automatically expands the bushing to remove any free-play formed between the detent plunger and the bore.

Abstract: A plastic bag includes a body portion, a handle portion forming an opening adapted to be grasped to carry the body portion, and a closure portion. The body portion has a bottom, opposed front and back panels extending from the bottom, and opposed first and second side panels extending from the bottom and connecting the front and back panels. The bottom, the front and back panels, and the first and second side panels form a receptacle space having a mouth located opposite the bottom. Preferably, the bottom is flat and the first and second side portions form gussets. The handle portion and the closure portion are preferably formed by adjacent layers of a folded plastic sheet secured to the back panel. The closure portion preferably includes a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive to be secured to the front panel to close the mouth.
Abstract: A trailer jack system includes an electric linear actuator having an electric motor, a source of electric power, and a controller that supplies a first voltage to the electric motor when the electric linear actuator is loaded and a second voltage to the electric motor when the electric linear actuator is unloaded. The electric linear actuator also includes a cylindrically shaped housing, a leg coaxially extending and retracting from the housing, and a support foot at a free end of the leg. The controller supplies the first voltage to the electric motor when a motor current of the electric motor is below a predetermined threshold value and supplies the second voltage to the electric motor when the motor current is above the predetermined threshold value. Preferably, the first voltage is about 24 volts and the second voltage is about 12 volts.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the estimation of the amount of subtypes of specific cells, for example the number of certain subtypes of leukocytes, by measurements of unique proteins in extracts of blood and other biological material. The knowledge of the number or amount of specific subtypes of white cells is important in the clinical diagnosis and surveillance of subjects with inflammatory disease including infectious disease, cancer, allergy/asthma etc.
Abstract: A torque limiting clutch includes a drive shaft having central rotational axis, a disk-shaped spring member secured to the drive shaft for rotation therewith, and a plate adjacent the spring member and having a plurality of grooves receiving bosses of the spring member. The spring member has a plurality bosses formed at an outer edge of the spring member that each form a generally V-shaped engagement surface. The grooves each form a generally V-shaped engagement surface engaging the bosses. A retaining clip retains the plate relative to the spring member to obtain a predetermined spring pretension. Engagement of the bosses with the grooves causes rotation of the plate upon rotation of the drive shaft when below a predetermined torque limit and deflection of the bosses out of the grooves prevents rotation of the plate upon rotation of the drive shaft when above the predetermine torque.

Abstract: A method for use in a flow matrix, which utilizes biospecific affinity reactions to detect an analyte in the sample, and which comprises allowing the sample comprising the analyte and an analytically detectable reactant (Reactant*) to migrate through flow channels in a flow matrix to a detection zone located in the matrix, in which there is a firmly anchored biospecific affinity reactant (Capturer), and capturing the Reactant* in the detection zone in an amount related to the amount of analyte in the sample. The Reactant* has labeled particles of an analytically detectable group, and the Capturer is anchored to the matrix by immobilized particles which exhibit hydrophilic groups on their surface. A test kit comprises a flow matrix having a detection zone in which there is a firmly anchored biospecific affinity reactant (Capturer), and an analytically detectable reactant (Reactant*).

Abstract: A surgical instrument for fragmenting and extracting stones includes an outer sheath having a proximal end and a distal end and an inner core longitudinally extending through the core and longitudinally movable relative to the core. The outer sheath has a basket sized for entrapping the stones and located near the distal end of the outer sheath. The distal end of the inner core is longitudinally moveable from a retracted position within the basket to an extended position past the distal end of the outer sheath. The distal end of the inner core is also adapted to engage and fragment the stones. Longitudinal movement of the inner core relative to the outer sheath transforms the basket from an expanded condition to a collapsed condition to entrap stones within the basket and provide a small profile for insertion and withdrawal.
Abstract: At a high pressure refuel depot that dispenses high pressure hydrogen or compressed natural gas to vehicles, the thermal energy (heat) generated by the high flow rate of the high pressure refueling gas is evacuated from the on board fuel tank[s] of vehicles eliminating the need for refueling pre treatments such as a slow fill, secondary precooling, and pressure overfill otherwise used to achieve a full vehicle tank refill. In an example, a high pressure fuel depot refilling line is operatively interconnected to an on board vehicle tank having a gas flow circuit wherein the refuel gas itself is circulated within the on board tank to absorb the compression heat of refueling and then to an external radiator before being released into the tank.
Abstract: A coffin (10) according to a first aspect has a base portion comprising a plurality of base panels (14), each base panel (14) being connected to the or each adjacent base panel (14) by a joint (16). Each base panel (14) is foldable onto an adjacent base panel (14). The coffin (10) includes a plurality of side panels (18) each connected to the base portion (12) by a joint (20), such that each side panel (18) is foldable onto an adjacent base panel (14). The coffin (10) may also comprise an end panel (24) connected to each endmost base panel (14). A coffin (40; 140; 240) according to a second aspect comprises first and second opposed end members (42; 142; 242, 44; 144; 244) spaced apart from one another by first and second collapsible side walls (46; 146; 246, 48; 148; 248).
Abstract: A portable jib for movably mounting to a crane girder includes a base frame configured for traveling along a girder and a support member coupled to the base frame, wherein the support member extends substantially upward from the base frame. A boom is coupled to a free end of the support member and the boom extends substantially radially outward from the support member. The base frame, the support member and the boom are assembled and mounted to the girder for use and disassembled and removed from the girder after use.
Abstract: An infrared inspection and reporting process and system obtains inspection data on site via a portable computer. An actual temperature of a component derived from an infrared image and a temperature delta between the temperature of the component and the maximum temperature for the component is calculated to determine if there is a problem. A criticality level is assigned for each problem component from a plurality of criticality levels each having a predetermined range for the temperature delta. The criticality level provides an accurate and consistent assessment of component conditions. The inspection data is up linked to a home server from the portable computer and is made available to the customer via an interactive, on-line web application. The customer can interact with the inspection dating including an interactive prediction of energy savings if the problem component is repaired.
