Abstract: A method for CPU power management and bus optimization. First, the bus operates at an initial bus bandwidth and an initial bus frequency first. Next, power management settings of the CPU, the Northbridge and the Southbridge are initialized, such that the CPU operates at a CPU operating frequency with a CPU operating voltage. Next, a CPU operating frequency and voltage adjustment is output to the Southbridge. Next, a bus disconnection signal is output by the Southbridge to disconnect the CPU and the Northbridge, and a timer for calculating an elapsed time value is initialized. Next, the CPU operating frequency and the CPU operating voltage are adjusted according to the CPU operating frequency and voltage adjustment. Next, a bus connection signal is output by the Southbridge when the elapsed time value reaches a predetermined value. Next, the CPU and the Northbridge are reconnected by the bus according to the bus connection signal.

  • Patent number: 7066190
Abstract: An air-driven microfluid control device and its method are disclosed. The control device contains an air source, a first inlet, a second inlet, a narrow sector, and an outlet. The air source is connected two the two inlets to produce an airflow. The first inlet connects to the narrow sector, which then connects to the outlet. The air flows through the first inlet and the narrow sector and exits via the outlet. A fluid tunnel connects to the narrows sideways. The second inlet connects to the fluid tunnel so that the air entering the second inlet flows into the fluid tunnel. Through the interaction between the two inlets, pushing and pulling forces can be produced to control the fluid inside the fluid tunnel.

  • Patent number: 7064764
Abstract: A FIFO section having a FIFO memory is provided between a memory control section and a CPU_I/F section in a path through which image data outputted from a CPU is written into the video memory. Data necessary for writing the image data is stored into the FIFO section and, based on the data stored in the FIFO section, the image data is stored into the video memory under the control of the memory control section. With this configuration, the CPU can output the image data without a wait time until the FIFO memory becomes full, and thus there is provided a liquid crystal display control device that does not lower the operation efficiency of the CPU.

  • Patent number: 7065552
Abstract: A relay communication device capable of simplifying a method for designating a destination of relay transmission requesting mail to another relay communication device. A CPU reads Subject information stored in a data memory, analyzes the subject information, compares it with an identifying character for relay stored in a relay identification character storing section and judges whether or not a character matching any one of the identifying characters for relay exists in the subject information. If a matched character exists, E-mail is judged to be a relay transmission request. Then, password information is extracted from the subject information and the extracted information is compared with a password being stored in advance in the password information storing section. If the password exists in the subject information and if the existing password matches a password stored in a password storing section, the relay transmission request is implemented.

  • Patent number: 7064505
Abstract: A method and system for controlling vehicle door position having reduced power supply current requirements reduces the cost and weight of a vehicle and further reduces power consumption. The vehicle door control system includes an inverter for converting a DC power source to an AC voltage for driving the motor. The inverter is preceded by a boost converter that maintains a constant voltage at the inverter input, and a capacitor is provided between the converter and inverter for energy storage. Kinetic energy is returned from the door and mechanical portions of the motor through the inverter and stored on the capacitor, reducing the power required from the power source. Operation of the inverter and converter are controlled by timers and detection mechanisms that cease operation of the inverter and converter when the door is held in a fully closed or open position for a predetermined interval.

  • Patent number: 7062754
Abstract: A method for performing a load flow test among a number of IEEE 1394 controllers is provided. The IEEE 1394 controllers are disposed on a number of interface cards individually while the interface cards are placed in a host or several hosts. The method includes the following steps: The interface cards are first initialized. Then, the master interface card starts to perform the load flow test. After that, the status of every interface cards is checked for confirming whether an error occurs or not. If the error occurs, debugging is performed. If not, the slave interface cards checks the result of the load flow test. The invention can fully control the buffer and monitor the memory since the test method is not performed under the driver structure in the WINDOWS operating system. It is therefore convenient to test in a load flow environment by using this method.
