Abstract: A method and a device for half duplex serial signal control with multiple baud rates and multiple configurations comprises RS-232 interface circuit, RS-485 interface circuit, power circuit, protective circuit, and logical control circuit. A brand new controlling method is applied to the receiving/transmission signal control wire on the RS-485 interface circuit so that the programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in the two-wire RS-485 network can be set at different baud rates and different configurations for RS-232 communication. That is, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) from different manufacturers, using different communication speed can connect one another as well as a personal computer. A signal converter transforms the RS-232 interface signal to the RS-485 interface signal for each PLC, passes through the RS-485 signal in the two-wire RS-485 network, and finally transforms the RS-485 signal to RS-232 signal for the connected computer.

  • Patent number: 6400349
Abstract: In a first aspect of the invention, a driven element is driven by a static driving element coupled in series with a switching element. The static driving element sets the driving current value. In a second aspect, a plurality of driven elements are driven by respective driving elements, which in turn are driven by respective pre-stage circuits, using a control voltage supplied by a single control-voltage generating circuit. Resistors inserted between the driving elements and pre-stage circuits limit transient current flow to a value within the output capability of the control-voltage generating circuit. In a third aspect, the pre-stage circuits have constant-current output characteristics, and the control-voltage generating circuit is designed to provide the necessary transient current, even when all driven elements are driven simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6393006
Abstract: After the switch of a CDMA/AMPS dual-mode portable terminal device is turned ON, the device operates to search for operation history so as to investigate a previously caught channel at step P-3. When a previously caught channel is a CDMA channel, a channel scanning is started from a CDMA system. When a previously caught channel is an AMPS channel, a channel scanning is started from an AMPS system. Usually, when a portable terminal device is restarted, the device is restarted in the same area as in a previous time. Therefore, the device operates to store a previously caught channel and a previously used PN value, while a channel scanning is started from the PN value of said channel. In this way, it is allowed to reduce a time necessary for the above search until a proper channel is caught.
