  • Patent number: 7659016
Abstract: A fuel cell system with flow passages and/or flow chambers which conduct moist gases in operation is characterized in that at least a part of the flow passages and/or flow chambers is provided with a coating which takes up water in distributed form at low temperatures and releases the water again at least in part at higher temperatures. This coating makes it possible to operate the fuel cell system at pronounced temperatures below zero, such as, for example, ?40° C., and to ensure an adequate humidification of the operating gases, which protects the membranes from damage and favors a faster starting up of the fuel cell system.

  • Patent number: 7658361
Abstract: A window frame display stand includes a corner body having a pair of mutually perpendicular legs, and a pair of spaced feet on one of the legs for supporting the body on a support surface such that the one leg is parallel to the support surface and the other leg is perpendicular to the support surface. The legs have adjacent interior surfaces that are contoured, preferably with slots or notches, to receive and support a window frame corner. The legs on the corner body preferably are mirror images of each other. The feet preferably are removably mounted on the one leg of the corner body, most preferably by interference press fit of the corner body leg into slots on the feet.

  • Patent number: 7653974
Abstract: A machine tool has pass-through pallet loading allowing pallets to be loaded or discharged from either side of the machine. The pallet receiver is mounted on the X-axis of the machine, and the pallet is loaded onto the pallet receiver with the pallet in a vertical orientation. Cross axis rollers on the pallet receiver support the pallet and spacing rollers maintain the pallet spaced from Z-axis locating pads as it moves to a centered position on the pallet receiver. The Z-axis pads present a relatively large surface area to the rear face of the pallet, and are configured to provide vacuum clamping to lock the pallet in all three axes once it is centered on the pallet receiver. A rotating key is provided to center and lock the pallet relative to the pallet receiver before the vacuum clamping is applied.

  • Patent number: 7656631
Abstract: An electrical circuit having a load that includes at least one semiconductor junction device supplied with operating current at a voltage sufficient to bias the semiconductor junction device into conduction and control means to provide or inhibit supply of power to said load. A protection arrangement for the electrical circuit includes a sensing circuit that detects characteristics of the load when the operating current is not flowing. The sensing circuit includes threshold comparison circuit that compares the sensed voltage level with at least one stored value representative of a threshold of a load characteristic indicative of a correctly functioning semiconductor junction device. The sensing circuit includes a sensing current generator which in the absence of operating current to the load effects passage through the load of a sensing current having a value that is less, for a semiconductor junction, than the forward conduction threshold thereof.

  • Patent number: 7651732
Abstract: Films of magnesium mixed with titanium are produced by non-equilibrium alloying processes such as electron beam evaporation of magnesium and titanium ingots in a very low pressure chamber. Such magnesium-titanium films form as single phase solid solutions. Titanium is inherently resistant to corrosion and its admixture with magnesium in solid solution provides a new composition that is less subject to intra-film galvanic corrosion. The magnesium-titanium films also provide relatively hard and strong coatings.

  • Patent number: 7650229
Abstract: A method of automatically communicating subscription-specific messages to a telematics-equipped vehicle includes the following steps: a) establishing a trigger and a message associated with the trigger; b) setting the trigger; c) monitoring for the occurrence of one or more conditions that satisfy the trigger; and d) determining that the one or more conditions have occurred and, if so, then; e) accessing the message associated with the trigger; and f) playing the message.

  • Patent number: 7644750
Abstract: The invention provides a method for manufacturing a powertrain component enclosure member, including the steps of: (A) positioning at least one insert into a mold, wherein the insert is provided with a coating to prevent bonding between the insert and the casting material; and (B) casting a wall of the powertrain component enclosure member in the mold around the insert such that a major portion of the insert is substantially non-bonded with the casting material to provide a proper interfacial boundary with the casting material for damping.

  • Patent number: 7645061
Abstract: The invention relates to a low beam headlight with at least one light module. The individual light module exhibits at least one light source and at least one primary lens connected downstream of the light source; and the light source is a luminescent diode. In addition, the low beam headlight has at least one secondary lens, which is connected optically downstream of the primary lens or the primary lenses. Both the primary and the secondary lens exhibit at least two lens segments, which are arranged one over the other. In addition, at least one lens segment of the primary lens and its assigned lens segment of the secondary lens lie outside the optical axis of the light module. The present invention develops a compact low beam headlight, whose light distribution has a clearly defined hot spot. The light intensity of the illumination decreases steadily in the direction of the basic distribution.

  • Patent number: 7644647
Abstract: There is disclosed a hydraulic actuating device for actuating a shift rod in particular of a gearbox for motor vehicles, which comprises a cylinder chamber provided in or on a gear housing for accommodating a shift piston which is actively connected to the shift rod and which divides the cylinder chamber into two working chambers which can selectively be acted upon by a pressure medium from a reservoir for the latter, said working chambers being separated from one another by means of a sealing arrangement arranged on the shift piston. The sealing arrangement is designed in a valve-like manner so that, when at least one working chamber is acted upon by pressure medium, it connects said working chamber to an auxiliary chamber which is delimited by the sealing arrangement and which in turn can be connected to the reservoir for the pressure medium.

  • Patent number: 7642908
Abstract: A light system for a vehicle includes a light casing that is fixedly secured to the motor vehicle. The light casing includes brake, fog and spacer sections with the spacer section separating the brake section from the fog section. A controller is fixedly secured to the light casing for receiving electrical power and control signals from the vehicle. A brake light source is disposed within the brake section of the light casing and is electrically connected to the controller to receive the control signals and to selectively emit light based on the signals. The light system also includes a fog light source disposed within the fog section of the light casing. The fog light source is electrically connected to the controller to selectively emit light based on the control signals. The spacer section allows one that is following the vehicle to distinguish between the brake and for light sources.
