The process can be carried out with or without involvement of a call center that provides telematics services to the vehicle. The method involves configuring the vehicle to accept a slowdown command, confirming the target vehicle at a pursuing police vehicle, establishing the short range connection between the police vehicle and target vehicle, and slowing the target vehicle by sending it the slowdown command over the wireless connection. The call center can enable or disable the slowdown service according to the vehicle owner's wishes.

    Abstract: An indirect cooling system for a rotating cutting tool uses a cryogenic coolant that is delivered to a cavity formed on the back surface of the cutting element, providing cooling near the cutting edge of the element. Because the total flow rate of the working fluid is low (less than 0.08 Liters/min/cutting edge), the fluid can be safely vented to atmosphere from the cavity, and as a result, no specialized coolant recovery or ventilation equipment is needed. The cavity may be formed with fins to enhance the heat transfer between the cutting element and the coolant, and coolant may additionally be sprayed directly onto the exterior surface of the element to cool the tool-chip interface. The indirect cooling system may be used for hard to machine metals and composites, as well as the machining of conventional materials without the use of traditional cutting fluids.

The method can be used to share user information with other potentially interested drivers to facilitate human interactions and relationships.

Each wireless message is embedded with a sequence counter that is provided by the sender and is compared by the recipient with a separate sequence counter for purposes of validation.     Abstract: A rotary drive mechanism is used to insert a pallet into the workzone of a machine tool past the plane the guard doors. Cam barrels are mounted one each on the opposite ends of a pair of opposed drive shafts that are driven by a pair of drive hubs. The cam barrels engage cam followers mounted on the underside of the pallet to drive the pallet into the workzone of the machine tool. The connection between the drive shafts and the drive hubs is separable, allowing the drive shafts to be uncoupled from the drive hubs when desired. The drive hubs are mounted on a hub carrier that is rotatable about a vertical axis to uncouple the drive hubs from the drive shafts and swing the drive hubs out of the plane of the guard doors, allowing the doors to close.
