  • Patent number: 7922969
Abstract: The corrosion-resistant nickel-base alloy combines thermal stability with corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. The alloy contains balanced proportions of nickel, molybdenum, chromium, and iron with an effective amount of yttrium to stabilize grain boundaries against unwanted reactions, which might degrade corrosion resistance, and an effective amount of boron to maintain an acceptable level of ductility. The alloy may contain minor amounts of additives or impurities, such as silicon, manganese, and aluminum. The alloy may contain between about 25-45% molybdenum, 2-6% chromium, 2-4% iron, 0.01-0.03% boron, 0.005-0.015% yttrium, and up to a maximum of 1% manganese, silicon, and aluminum, respectively, by weight, the balance being nickel. It is preferred that the combined ratio of molybdenum, chromium, and iron to nickel be in the range of about 25% to 45%.

  • Patent number: 7918160
Abstract: The cane juice extractor includes a wagon that may be hitched to or towed alongside a harvesting machine or combine for application in-field. The wagon includes a frame having an upper deck and a lower deck. The upper deck includes an inlet side where harvested cane may be fed for juice extraction and an outlet side for disposing the pulp. Rotating feeders feed the cane to a cutting station on the upper deck. The cutting station comminutes the cane into billets that are carried by an endless belt through a series of compression roller sets. Each set of rollers compress the cut cane down to smaller dimensions to extract the juice. A chute disposed between the upper and lower decks collects the juices and funnels them into a juice storage tank on the lower deck. The pulp is expelled from the outlet side to the field.

  • Patent number: 7918465
Abstract: The adjustable height trailer is a fifth wheel-type trailer with a single rear axle supporting the rear of the trailer and a fifth wheel hitch supporting the front. The rear axle and hitch have adjustable height suspensions, allowing the trailer to be lowered or raised uniformly while remaining hitched to the towing vehicle. One embodiment is configured as a livestock trailer with a series of stall positions therein. The loading and exit doors are generally diagonally opposite one another. A series of adjustably positionable partitions is installed on overhead tracks, with a partition placed between each animal as they are boarded and positioned in the trailer. Animals depart the trailer through the opposite door, with the partitions being repositioned correspondingly. The trailer suspension allows the trailer to be lowered to the underlying surface to facilitate loading and unloading animals therefrom, or other commodities, depending upon the trailer configuration.

  • Patent number: 7911614
Abstract: The non-contact measurement probe is capable of dimensional measurement of a workpiece while it is being machined, and reporting dynamic error for real-time compensation by the machining tool. Measurement includes diameter and roundness of the workpiece. The measurements are automatically fed back to a machine controller for intelligent error compensation. Based on known laser Doppler techniques and real time data acquisition, the probe delivers dimensional accuracy at few microns over a range of 100 mm. The measurement probe employs a differential laser-Doppler arrangement, allowing acquisition of information from the workpiece surface. Moreover, the measurements are traceable to standards of frequency allowing higher precision.

  • Patent number: 7903139
Abstract: The invention relates to a device which is used to film, record and reproduce video images in real time with a three dimensional appearance, using a video camera and a sonar system in order to obtain the depth information. According to the invention, an electronic system divides up the original image filmed in BGR format and each image is modified in accordance with the depth register (or programming) in order to form new images. Each image corresponds to a determined distance level. The result is displayed on a monitor comprising various independent transparent LCD (liquid crystal display) screens which are aligned one after the other. By displaying the images simultaneously, a single image is formed for the spectator, said image creating an appearance of volume and three-dimensional perception similar to low relief. The depth, video and sound signals are transmitted directly for reproduction purposes and to the magnetic tape recording system for storage purposes, using three magnetic tape heads.

  • Patent number: 7895890
Abstract: The liquid depth sensing and identification system determines both the pressure head or depth, and therefore the quantity, of a liquid in a tank, as well as determining the characteristics of the liquid at the bottom of the probe. Two principles of operation are disclosed herein. The system may use a gas bubble collector about the outlet end of the purge tube, with the difference in height of the collector and purge tube mouths defining the very small difference in pressure head required to resolve the bubble emission characteristics produced in different liquids. Alternatively, the system incorporates a mass flow sensor capable of detecting minute changes in mass flow as bubbles are emitted from the purge tube in order to determine the type and characteristics of the liquid. The system operates using an open loop principle of operation, with no feedback provided to control the purge pump.

  • Patent number: 7892634
Abstract: The 3-D relief pattern blank and method of using comprises the steps of using a cutting machine to cut a thin, retroreflective heat reflective sheet in a desired pattern. The thin, retroreflective heat reflective sheet is formed to provide a heat-retroreflective mask. Subsequently, the heat-retroreflective mask is transferred to a preferably smooth surface of a foamed thermoplastic substrate. The assembly of heat-retroreflective mask and foamed thermoplastic is then exposed to a source of visible and/or infrared radiation. The radiation does not have to be coherent and the exposure need not be under automatic guidance or control. Unmasked areas of the foamed thermoplastic absorb radiant heat more rapidly than masked areas, causing the unmasked areas to collapse into a relief of the desired pattern. The resulting relief ranges between approximately an eighth of an inch and one inch in depth.
