    Abstract: Water-saving device for flush toilets comprises a bracket which can be mounted on the exterior of a toilet water tank directly behind the flush handle on the front wall of the water tank. The device comprises a bracket body, having a lever pivotally secured thereto, one end of the pivot lever has a vertically adjustable set screw which can be moved up or down to engage the end portion of the flush handle, designed to limit the flush handle to a predetermined amount of downward travel in the short flush mode, whereby allowing a smaller selected amount of water to be dispensed when the flush handle is held down for a predetermined time before releasing it. In the full flush mode the pivot lever is manually moved counter-clockwise and away from the normal path of the flush handle to allow the entire content of the water tank to empty into the toilet bowl.

    Abstract: A telephone calling card with multiple uses. It may be dispensed from a machine or a holding rack. It has a prolonged original lifespan as values may be added to it. It improves accessibility to the visually handicapped as the tactile format may be used in recording information. It improves security as it is in sections, one section of which conceals the PIN when the card in use. A separate security measure takes the form of a sound BRUSH which, when activated, emits a predetermined sound signal which is recognized by the user's card carrier company to allow the card to be activated by the PIN. Foldout panels provide coupons, advertising, or room for adding information. The card has many uses following its use as a telephone calling card. In another embodiment, a strip has a self-adhering coating on its back and contains information on the front which is covered by a peel-off adhesive covering.

    Abstract: A shelf system in which shelf boards are separated by base units and partition units. Each base unit and partition unit comprises a back piece and a centrally located perpendicular piece. The back piece is rectangular in shape and has a centrally located “T”-shaped male connecting piece on the front and back surfaces for connecting with the perpendicular piece and the locking channel piece. The perpendicular piece is rectangular in shape and has a first end containing a “T”-shaped female connecting groove for connecting with the connecting piece of the back piece. The perpendicular piece contains a second end containing a “T”-shaped male connecting piece for connecting with a locking channel piece. The perpendicular piece and the back piece of the base have keepers at the bottom thereof to prevent the locking channel piece from touching the supporting surface.

    Abstract: A cape comprising a rear panel made of flexible material, two front panels made of flexible materials and secured along one side to one side of the rear panel. An elastic drawstring is extended through an elongated opening at the top ends of the rear panel and the two front panels so that the drawstring can extend about the neck of a wearer. The rear panel and the two front panels extend over the shoulders, torso, and legs of the wearer. A vertical fastener closes open sides of the two front panels together. Each front panel contains a pocket in the form of a bag on the inside, which pocket opens to the outside by an opening in its mouth. A drawstring surrounds the opening allowing the bag to be opened or secured. Each front panel contains an arm hole which may be opened or closed.

    Abstract: A portable security device which can be easily mounted on inwardly swinging doors. the device is made up of a inner plate which has first and second panels, an outer plate which has first and second panels, a hinge connecting, and permitting rotation between, the second panel of the inner plate and the first panel of the outer plate, a securing attachment, and a holding mechanism. The first and second panels of the inner plate are perpendicular to each other. The first panel of the inner plate fits against the strike plate and has a lock tab which fits into the bolt hole in a strike plate. The second panel of the inner plate fits against side edge of the door jamb and contains a horizontal protrusion which contains an opening. The first panel of the outer plate contains a horizontal slot which will fit over the protrusion when the device is in place, thus exposing the opening of the protrusion. The second panel of the outer plate is perpendicular to the first panel.

    Abstract: “L”-shaped brackets for connecting floor joists of houses to a structural band board and deck ledger board so that the deck ledger board will be supported by the weight-bearing floor joists of the houses. The brackets are “L”-shaped, having one short leg, one long leg, and at least one triangular brace connecting the legs. Each leg contains a plurality of holes for the passage of through bolts. The short legs abut the band board and the through bolts pass through the short legs of the brackets, the band board, and the ledger board. The long legs abut the weight-bearing joists and the through bolts pass through the long leg of one of the backet, one of the weight-bearing joists, and the long leg of one of the brackets on the opposing side of the weight-bearing joist.

    Abstract: A wristwatch to aid cigarette smokers to gradually decrease the number of cigarettes smoked per day over a period of time. The face displays an area which indicates the permissibility or lack of permissibility of smoking. A display area indicates the number of cigarettes smoked during the current day. Another display indicates the number of days the watch has been on the same smoking countdown. A fourth display indicates the time remaining in a non-smoking period. Buttons placed around the rim for the watch activate the lack of smoking display and the smoking countdown time display. Additional buttons are pressed to start the timing for the number of days the watch has been on the same smoking countdown, to increase the displayed number of days the watch has been on the same smoking countdown, to change the display showing the number of cigarettes smoked during the current day, and to change the length of time the watch will show a non-smoking display.

    Abstract: A cleat for athletic shoes which provides a sole attachment member; a hub having a planar upper portion for contacting the shoe sole, a rounded lower portion for bearing weight of the user, and an edge; and resilient traction elements. The resilient elements are made up of an outward band extending from the periphery of the upper portion of the hub, an inner band extending from the periphery of the lower portion of the hub, a bottom band, a top band, and a space bordered by the outer band, the inner band, the bottom band and the top band. When the user is walking on soft surfaces, the traction elements provide traction and the lower portion of the hub does not bear weight. When the user is walking on hard surfaces, the resilient traction elements bend outwardly allowing the hub to contact the walking surface and bear weight. This allows for longer life of the traction elements as well as uniform contact.

    Abstract: A kit for preventing the movement of door frames during the time that brick and mortar are being erected around the frames. As one element of the kit, there is at least one block which fits between the door jambs to prevent inward or outward bowing of the jambs. The blocks contain peripheral holes which contain protective clips. The blocks may be tied in place at the desired location by passing a tie through the appropriate holes and around the doorjamb. A second element of the kit is at least one supporting brace which prevents movement of the door frame away from the vertical plane of the frame. The brace contains connecting holes at each end and, preferably, is made of telescopic tubing for ease in adjustment of length. The lower portion of the brace rotatably connects to a support. The upper end of the brace rotatably connects to a two-piece holder which removably attaches to a door jamb.

The forward work piece is reversible and contains a writing point or a turning tool. The turning tool rod is reversible and contains a turning tool at each end. One device contains a single extension/extraction slot having forward, medial, and rearward openings or notches. In this alternative, the device contains actuator guide pins or latch pins which allow only the forward work piece, only the tool rod, or neither of these to be extended at any one time. Alternatively, the device contains forward and rearward extension/retraction slots, each having forward and rearward openings or notches.

    Abstract: A pleated neckdown bag for lining a receptacle is disclosed wherein the bag is made of a flexible plastic film. The disclosed bag has one or more pleat portions (18) fixed at points around the mouth portion (26) of the bag to reduce the circumference of the mouth portion relative to the circumference of the body portion (14). The reduced circumference mouth portion of the neckdown bag can be fitted over a supporting receptacle. The top portion (12) of the bag is thereby more securely held to the support, and the mouth portion is more securely held in an open state, since the narrowed mouth portion of the bag can better engage a support such as the rim of a waste bin. Bag embodiments having flat and flat rectangular constructions, convenient for manufacture, storage, shipping, and dispensing, are also disclosed. Also disclosed is a tabbed neckdown bag embodiment with a tab (52) modifying means to advantageously modify stress and strain at and near the conjunction of a seam and mouth portion of a neckdown bag.

    Abstract: A safety gas valve for hoses feeding gas-powered equipment. The valve is in the form of a separate unit which may be permanently or temporarily connected to a flexible hose, which hose has a proximal end and a distal end. The flexible hose is connected to a source of compressed gas through a quick-disconnect valve and a primary conduit. The safety gas valve contains a casing which has a seat. The safety gas valve contains a plunger having a surface capable of fitting to the seat to divide the safety gas valve into a distal compartment and a proximal compartment. The plunger or the casing wall has a discharge orifice running from the distal compartment to the proximal compartment. The safety gas valve may contain a resilient mechanism proximal to the plunger. When air or other gas flows distally through the valve, the plunger is moved distally and gas is allowed to flow freely distally.

    Abstract: A wrench with interchangeable, pivotal, rotatable tool pieces on at least one end. A snap-on tool piece, preferably a wrench, fits into a pivotal end piece which is pivotably held to an extension arm by a toothed pin in toothed apertures. The extension arm is pivotably attached to a rotating shaft by toothed pins. There may be another pivotable snapon connection for a tool piece at the opposite end of the shaft. As an alternative, the tool piece fits into a pivotable end piece which is positioned at the end of a pivotably segmented shaft which fits inside the casing and handle of the tool. The location of the tool piece in relation to the handle may be easily set and secured. The multiplicity of possible tool pieces and positions makes this tool highly versatile and capable of reaching into hard-to-reach areas. Thus, bolts in car motors may be reached without having to partially dismantle the motor.

The tablets and mini-bars may be prepared by extruding discrete sections and matrix, all containing active ingredients, cutting the resulting shape for the tablet and mini-bar, and coating with dehydrated food. The tablets and mini-bars may supply needed active ingredients following natural disasters or prior to surgery or may be taken for general use. The products may be contained in a thermal insulating wrapper having an inner piece, an outer piece, and a corrugated piece between the inner and outer pieces.
