  • Patent number: 6637608
Abstract: A freestanding frame for supporting shelves that includes a pair of posts that extend upwardly from a carpeted horizontal surface and rest against a wall, and a pair of braces that extend from one post to the other post in an X configuration. Each post has an uppermost vertical member that rests against the wall, a horizontal member that extends forwardly from the uppermost vertical member, and a lowermost vertical member that depends from the horizontal member and sinks into the carpeted horizontal surface so as to prevent the post from sliding away from the wall while resting thereon. Each brace is either one piece or two-piece so as to be length adjustable. In a first embodiment, the two pieces are screwed together, and in a second embodiment, the two pieces slide relative to each other and are maintained at a desired length by first and second locking apparatuses.

  • Patent number: 6612812
Abstract: A semiautomatic electronic system for sensing and accordingly raising if such is determined to be required, the fluid level of a liquid present in swimming pools, animal water drinking troughs, or any other liquid containment vessels. For the accomplishment of this task an electronic circuit periodically, in accordance with a schedule prescribe by a user, samples the environment of the space in a liquid containment vessel to determine if a liquid level has fallen below a predetermine level prescribed by the user. If such is the case, either a pump or a solenoid valve can be automatically activated, so as to cause liquid to be added to the containment vessel, only until the liquid in the containment vessel is restored to the required predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 6609337
Abstract: A tile for a pitched roof. The tile includes a body that overlies the pitched roof and a plurality of protrusions that stick outwardly from the body and function as heat sinks that sluff-off heat and impede thermal energy from being transmitted to the pitched roof. The body includes a lower portion that is made of a thermal insulating material and an upper portion that is a metallic plate. The metallic plate extends past the lower portion of the body so as to form an overhang that defines an undercut. The undercut of one tile receives a portion of a next lowest tile, and in so doing, interlocks the one tile and the next lowest tile, and in so doing, allows the metallic plate of the one tile to directly contact, and be continuous with, the metallic plate of the next lowest tile for improved heat transfer.

  • Patent number: 6595090
Abstract: A tool fixture for enabling a mechanic to manually rotate an internal combustion engine which comprises an assembly of components which is placed inside a starter motor housing. The assembled combination of the starter motor housing with the present invention is then attached to the engine's bell housing where the starter motor would normally reside. The gear teeth of the engine flywheel engages a gear fixedly mounted on a first end of a rotatable shaft of the present invention. A nut is fixedly mounted on a second end of the rotatable shaft which is accessible to a mechanic's wrench so that torque may appropriately be applied to the rotatable shaft which accordingly permits the fly wheel to be rotated slowly to any desired position as may be required so as to facilitate for the tuning and other adjustment procedures to be performed upon the engine.

  • Patent number: 6581219
Abstract: A rotary shower brush for mounting in a shower stall that includes a brush assembly, a motor assembly, an upper mount assembly, and a lower mount assembly. The brush assembly vertically mounts in the shower stall. The motor assembly is operatively connected to, and rotates, the brush assembly. The upper mount assembly is attached to the motor assembly and attaches the motor assembly to the shower stall. The lower mount assembly is attached to the brush assembly and attaches the brush assembly to the shower stall. Variations of the upper mount assembly and the lower mount assembly allow the rotary shower brush to be attached to either the ceiling and the base of the shower stall or to a corner of the shower stall. In another embodiment, the brush assembly oscillates up and down as it rotates.

  • Patent number: 6570548
Abstract: A display device that includes video chips. Each video chip is modular and is engageable with adjacent video chips, a plurality of pins that electrically communicate with the set of pins of adjacent video chips, and pixels that electrically communicate with the plurality of pins thereof. Each pixel is engageable with adjacent pixels, a red LED for selective illumination, a green LED for selective illumination, and a blue LED for selective illumination. The video chips are placed in an array of columns and rows which are activated by vertical scanning and horizontal scanning. The rows are supplied with a positive voltage to prevent conduction. The vertical scanning activates each row by reducing back voltage to zero. The horizontal scanning activates each column at three different levels for activating at least one of the red LED, the green LED, and the blue LED.
