  • Patent number: 6419320
Abstract: A base manipulation device for an office chair includes a bottom plate having locking slots and pivoted with a chair base which has a rotation plate provided with a pivot plate and a drive plate. An operation bar is pivoted on the pivot plate and has a distal end pressed on the pneumatic bar. A positioning plate is secured on a rod which is moved with the drive plate. When the operation bar is driven to pivot vertically, the pneumatic bar is driven to adjust a height of a seat. When the operation bar is driven to move horizontally, the rotation plate is rotated to move the drive plate which moves the rod which moves the positioning plate to insert into or detach from one locking slot of the bottom plate, thereby achieving a purpose of adjusting an angle of inclination of the seat.

  • Patent number: 6418626
Abstract: A pair of pruning shears has two bodies pivotally mounted together with a pivot, a spring connected between the bodies, and a lock device arranged near the pivot. The lock device comprises a step hole defined in one of the bodies near the pivot, a locking hole defined in the other body, a latch post moveably mounted in the step hole, a biasing member to support the latch post, and a knob. The knob is rotatably mounted on the body with the step hole. The knob has a bottom abutting the latch post and a cavity defined in the bottom. When the bodies are pushed toward to each other, the step hole will align with the locking hole. The latch post can be pushed to engage with the locking hole by the bottom of the knob. This can provide a secure positioning effect to the latch post. The latch post will not escape from the locking hole when the pruning shears bump with another object.

  • Patent number: 6419323
Abstract: This invention provides an elevation mechanism for an armchair armrest, comprising a T-shaped post, a catch cylinder, an adjustment unit, a reflex plate, a U-shaped block and a resilient spring that are fastened by a plurality of screws. At the center of the T-shaped post is a U-shaped depression, on which are a first screw hole, a cross through hole and a second screw hole spaced from top to bottom. The first screw hole serves to fasten a first screw inserted in a first through aperture on the adjustment unit. The vertical slot of the cross through hole accommodates the insertion of the depressed groove of the adjustment unit. The horizontal slot of the cross through hole accommodates a U-shaped block that goes with the depressed groove. At the center of the adjustment unit is a third screw hole to accommodate and fasten a second screw inserted through the second through hole on the reflex plate.

  • Patent number: 6412318
Abstract: An electric cylindrical lock comprises a chassis, an inner spindle, an inner handle, a latch assembly, an outer handle, and an outer spindle. A tubular seat is mounted around an end of the outer spindle and includes a positioning groove aligned with a slot of the outer spindle. When a solenoid mounted in the tubular seat is energized, a protrusion of a locking plate in the tubular seat is engaged in the positioning groove of the tubular seat to thereby prevent rotation of the outer handle. When the solenoid is inoperable, the lock cylinder is turnable by a key to cause longitudinal movement of the locking plate, thereby disengaging the protrusion of the locking plate from the positioning groove of the tubular seat.

  • Patent number: 6408906
Abstract: Apparatus (10) having special application for gripping and cutting tree limbs around utility lines includes a tubular insert (18) slideably received in the free end of a tubular boom (12). A plate (28) is pivoted about a first pivot axis relative to the insert (18) by a linearly extendable actuator (36) mounted within the insert (18) and mounts a first rotary actuator (38). A second rotary actuator (58) is mounted to a U-shaped mount (48) which is pivoted about a second pivot axis to the first rotary actuator (38) and rotates a working head (96) 360° about a third pivot axis. Gripping arms (78) are fixed to shafts (74) rotatably mounted in the working head (96) about axes perpendicular to the third axis, with the shafts (74) being rotated by a single linearly extendable actuator (82) extending between crank arms (80) fixed to the shafts (74). The crank arms (80) abut with an abutment (84) to prevent only one set of gripping arms (78) from moving.
