  • Patent number: 7500776
Abstract: A fiber optic illumination system and method is utilized to provide illumination for decorative fixtures and objects situated in an aquarium, terrarium, and the like. An external, high-intensity lamp, powered by household electricity, provides the light source for a flexible, fiber optic bundle that is insulated and waterproofed. A motorized, interchangeable color wheel, located between the lamp and the fiber optic bundle, modifies the light source to create colored light. Once the light bundle is inserted into the water tank, the fiber optic strands are separated and directed to a plurality of interchangeable, transparent and translucent fixtures and objects to decorate the aquarium.

  • Patent number: 7492255
Abstract: A system for the detecting and alarming of unauthorized access to an enclosure is herein disclosed. Sensors mounted within the door and/or motion sensors provide a wireless signal to a centralized control panel that activates an alarm when armed. The alarm provides visual and aural indication of an intrusion within the enclosure and transmits a signal to a remote base unit via telemetry, and a Global Positioning System (GPS) may provide the location of the alarm to the base unit for subsequent dispatch of security personnel if the enclosure is in transport.

  • Patent number: 7487791
Abstract: An apparatus to aid in the holding and retention of tubing or cables used on patients in a hospital environment is disclosed. The invention is envisioned to be used on intravenous tubing, air tubing, sensor cables and the like. The invention would comprise a clamshell-like case with the approximate dimensions of two inches high, three inches wide and approximately eight inches long. When opened, a series of ā€œSā€-shaped grooves along with one that is straight and routed through the center of the case along the long dimension is visible. Excess tubing or cables are routed back and forth along the ā€œSā€-shaped grooves and then out the straight one when the slack is taken in. The case is then snapped shut. The case would be made of a semi-pliable material in lieu of a hard plastic for increased patient comfort should the patient physically contact the invention. The invention can be snapped together in a gang fashion in those instances where more than one cable or tube needs to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 7484321
Abstract: A steel insert apparatus for a backhoe bucket having an integral heating system to defrost construction equipment in cold weather is herein disclosed. The apparatus is intended for use on backhoes, front end loaders, bulldozers, and other similar equipment with a blade or a bucket. When required by cold weather, a conventional blade or bucket will have the apparatus inserted snuggly into the bucket. The insert contains a series of interconnected heating tubes along its inner surfaces. The heating tubes are connected to an input and output connection on each end which allows engine coolant to be circulated through the heating tubes by means of flexible hoses and fittings providing heat to the insert. Such a feature allows the construction equipment to be used in cold weather without being affected by ice or snow build-up.

  • Patent number: 7478813
Abstract: A device for holding and viewing playing cards is herein provided and discloses an apparatus that allows the viewing of playing cards that are placed down on the device for those who have limited use of their hands or would benefit from such a device. The invention takes the form of an angled stand with the approximate dimensions of four inches by six inches where a portion of this area is used to hold the cards face down, as placed there by the dealer or player's assistant, although other sizes and shapes for accommodating multiple card are envisioned. The device is shielded so that adjacent players are denied the ability to view the cards. A dual mirror assembly is visible through a viewing window that is used by the player. In such a manner, players without the use of their hands or arms can see their cards in an easy manner without the aid of another person.

  • Patent number: 7478498
Abstract: A system and device for the easy and reliable detection of a strike on a fishing line and prevention of line entanglement is herein described. A bobber is placed on a conventional fishing line, which is suspended from a clamp that is removably attached to a conventional fishing pole. Affixed to the clamp is a shield portion, which functions as a device to eliminate any line entanglement or accidental rotation of the bobber around the pole. An alternate embodiment of the present invention provides additional visibility, comprising a bobber displaying fluorescent means.
