Abstract: A personal cleansing composition includes a salt, preferably sodium salt, of alcohol ethoxy glyceryl sulfonate. The preferred sodium salt of alcohol ethoxy glyceryl sulfonate has the formula: ##STR1## where R is a radical with 4 to 24 carbon atoms and n is a number from 1 to 10. The composition may take the form of a bar, combar, syndet bar, shampoo, liquid soap, bubble bath or shower gel.

Abstract: A dental composition is produced from a dilatant silicone polymer composition by dispersing a bioactive component in the polymer composition. The dental composition is shaped and pressed against the teeth and gum surfaces and allowed to remain in place for a period of time sufficient to release the active component to the tooth and gums. The dilatant rheological properties enable the dental composition to be pushed under the gingival flap to remove food particles and treat tooth and gum surfaces below the gum line. The composition is sufficiently plastic to be easily removed from the teeth without pieces breaking and adhering to tooth surfaces.

Abstract: Fabric conditioning aqueous liquid emulsions are provided which impart softness and antistatic properties to laundered fabrics as a wash-cycle additive for through-the-wash use or alternatively as a rinse cycle additive. The dispersed phase of the liquid emulsions comprise complexes of specified tertiary amines and multi-functional carboxylic acids in combination with unreacted amine and a minor amount of one or more specified alkyl cellulose ethers to enhance high temperature emulsion stability.

Abstract: A tamper indicating closure includes a one-piece cap having a dispensing outlet which is aligned with a dispensing outlet in the neck of a bottle upon rotation of the cap. A removable tamper resistant detent extends downwardly from the top end of the cap and nests with a recess in the upper edge of the neck of the bottle to prevent rotation of the cap. The removable tamper resistant detent is torn free of the cap such that the cap can be rotated to an open position. The closure may also contain a flexible spout which can be folded outwardly by rotation of the cap to an open position.
Abstract: The present invention provides an oral composition for whitening teeth comprising a safe and effective whitening amount of peracetic acid dissolved or suspended in a vehicle, wherein the peracetic acid is generated within the vehicle in situ by combining water, acetylsalicylic acid and a water soluble alkali metal percarbonate.
Abstract: The tubes of this invention are deformable and will usually not be collapsible. The tubes have a view window and a elongated nozzle. The tubes can be made by blow molding or extrusion. The view window permits a person to determine the contents remaining in the tube and the nozzle provides for ease in dispensing.
Abstract: A cooking fuel device includes a fuel container and a wick supporting member positioned at the top of the container. The wick supporting member substantially closes the fuel container and contains at least one aperture to communicate with the interior of the container. A wick formed from a piled fabric includes a burn portion and a fuel feed portion. The fuel feed portion extends through the aperture into the fuel in the container. A cover having a central aperture is positioned over the top of the container to define the burn area on the wick. A peelable lid is adhesively attached to the cover and the wick which when removed will raise the pile on the wick.

Abstract: A toothpaste or dental gel composition containing an amount of a synthetic linearly viscoelastic cross-linked polymeric thickening agent, especially a cross-linked methyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer, effective to render the composition linearly viscoelastic, and a method of promoting oral hygiene by applying an effective amount of the composition to dental surface.
Abstract: The present carton has a tear strip that is fully removed from the carton when the carton is opened. This is the case since the tear strip and associated adhesive is only across the front panel and the two pendant side flaps. It is not across the rear panel to which the lid remains hingedly attached after opening. In addition the side flaps attached to the front and rear panels are of a size of essentially that of the side of the carton which provides the carton with additional stacking strength.
Abstract: Automatic dishwasher detergent composition is formulated as a linear viscoelastic, pseudoplastic, gel-like aqueous product of exceptionally good physical stability in exposed daylight, low bottle residue, low cup leakage, and improved cleaning performance, Linear viscoelasticity and pseudoplastic behavior is attributed by incorporation of cross-linked high molecular weight polyacrylic acid type thickener. Potassium to sodium weight ratios of at least 1/1 minimize amount of undissolved solid particles to further contribute to stability and pourability. Control of incorporated air bubbles functions to provide the product with a bulk density of about 1.35 to 1.40 g/cc which roughly corresponds to the density of the liquid phase. A polymeric chelating agent in the composition improves physical stability.
Abstract: An edible pet chew product having a flexible cellular matrix in which is contained a cellulosic fibrous material such as corn cob fractions having a mechanical cleansing function, which when chewed by the pet, effects a reduction in plaque, stain and tartar on the pet's teeth. An oral care additive may be incorporated in the matrix to inhibit dental problems, the composition of the cellular matrix being substantially inert to the oral care additive.
