    Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine with four vanes carried by a rotor engaging an internal oval housing surface to define four chambers that orbit the rotor axis. Two of the chambers, diametrically opposed, are operated as working chambers on a four-phase internal combustion engine basis in phase with each other. Supercharging is continued through an early part of the volume expansion and firing phase, whereby the rate of expansion per degree of rotation is substantial at the time firing is initiated. The other two chambers are operated as air pumping chambers to supercharge the working chambers via an air pressure accumulator. A lubricating liquid within the chamber is introduced into the pumping chambers for engine lubrication with excess being returned to the accumulator. The pressure of the liquid is applied hydraulically against the vanes to urge each radially outward with equal force.

    Abstract: Carbonation enhancer having a cylindrical shell that is closed at one end by an envolute wall spaced from the inner end of a withdrawal tube, the output stream of a conventional carburetor is directed tangentially into space between the shells and caused to move in a spiral path toward the envolute closure wall by a spiral vane in the space and on reaching the envolute wall to move radially inwardly and into the inner end of the withdrawal tube to travel axially in a direction opposite that of the spiral path with the stream exiting the tube to enter the inlet manifold of the engine. Waste engine heat is applied to the exterior of the cylindrical shell in an amount sufficient to vaporize liquid fuel droplets centrifuged thereagainst from the stream as the latter traverses the spiral path portion of its travel from the carburetor to the intake manifold.

    Abstract: An airtight, open topped receptacle of transparent material totally immersed in inverted position in the water of an aquarium in spaced relation to the side walls of the latter. The lower periphery of the receptacle is spaced above the bottom of the aquarium to allow newts to pass freely therebetween. An air supply feed line supplies air into the receptacle so that an air bubble chamber is established in the latter. An aquarium bottom cover is heaped to extend into the air bubble chamber. For newt training purposes, an optional closure structure is provided for temporarily preventing movement of the newts out of the receptacle.

    Abstract: A point for welded removable attachment to a mild steel blade shank and tube to constitute an ammonia applicator blade, such point being cast of high chrome iron to be extremely wear resistant. The point tapers forwardly in width and its generally horizontal bottom slopes downwardly in its forward portion so that outwardly projecting lips along its lower edges not only laterally open and break up soil for swifter ammonia absorption but also tend to pull the blade down into the soil. The point has a V-shaped opening for accommodating the blade shank to which it is butt welded.

    Abstract: An oil well pump drive including a drive unit that is hydraulically actuated by a double-acting hydraulic cylinder to reciprocate vertically. An endless chain is entrained over vertically spaced sprockets carried by the unit, with one flight of the chain anchored against vertical movement and the other flight is secured to the pump polish rod so that the vertical motion imparted to the polish rod is double that hydraulically imparted to the drive unit. The polish rod load on the chain is opposed by a counterweight connected thereto by a chain extending over an elevated pulley. The output of the hydraulic pump supplying the hydraulic cylinder is cam controlled so that the motion of the drive unit is smoothly decelerated and accelerated as the unit approaches and moves from the upper and lower limits of its movement.

A wheeled construction having wheels that can be driven, braked or free wheeling is provided that is automatically lowered or maintained in a lowered position contacting the guide rail whenever the aircraft lacks flying speed or the wheels are either driven or braked. The air bearings urge centering of the rail both vertically and laterally with respect thereto. Flight stability of the aircraft is enhanced by the provision of a ground effect bed, and gust spoilers, with the latter additionally functioning as a noise abatement device.

    Abstract: A wheeled hydraulically actuated haystack loader having a tiltable bed with conveyor chains thereon, such loader including as a part thereof an internal combustion engine driving a hydraulic pump. The loader also includes electrically actuated hydraulic valves for controlling the tilt of the bed and the drive of the chains. The loader can be detachably coupled to a pickup truck by a fifth wheel with the engine operation and the hydraulic valves being controllable from within the operator's cab of the truck by the provision of cabled electric circuit leads connected at one end of the cable to engine controls and to the hydraulic valves, with the other end of the cabled circuits being detachably coupled to an electric switch control box disposed in the operator's cab, whereby the engine's ignition, starter and choke as well as the tilt of the bed and the drive of the conveyor chains can be controlled by the driver of the truck.
